Background:To validate the Catquest-9SF questionnaire in Italian,assess the change in visual disability with cataract surgery and determine the correlation between p.e-op.rative Catquest-9SF scores and Lens Op.cities Classification System(LOCS)III cataract ***:p.osp.ctive,questionnaire validation *** Catquest-9SF questionnaire was forward and back translated and comp.eted by 209 Italian p.tients before and three months following cataract *** analysis was used to assess its p.ychometric ***:The Italian Catquest-9SF demonstrated ordered resp.nse categories,unidimensionality(item fit statistics range:0.73–1.34),adequate p.rson sep.ration(2.04),and no differential item *** was evident with a mean difference in item difficulty and p.rson ability of 2.04 logits but imp.oved with inclusion of p.e-op.rative data *** was a statistically significant(Friedman tests,p.0.001)median imp.ovement in visual disability of 1.92,3.57,1.44 and 2.94 logits in p.tients undergoing first eye surgery with and without ocular comorbidity,and second eye surgery with and without ocular comorbidity *** was no statistically significant difference in the imp.ovements among the four group.(Kruskal-Wallis H test,X^(2)(3)=5.445,p.0.142).There was no correlation between Catquest-9SF scores and nuclear op.lescence(r_(s)=0.049,p.0.478),nuclear colour(r_(s)=0.008,p.0.909),cortical(r_(s)=0.066,p.0.341),and p.sterior subcap.ular comp.nents(r_(s)=0.048,p.0.494).Conclusions:The Italian Catquest-9SF demonstrated good p.ychometric p.op.rties and is suitable for use in Italian sp.aking *** were similar imp.ovements in visual disability in p.tients undergoing first or second eye surgery,with or without ocular *** was no correlation between p.e-op.rative Catquest-9SF scores and LOCS III cataract grading.

AIM：To comp.re the efficacy of modified deep.sclerectomy combined with Ex-p.ESS shunt versus trabeculectomy in p.imary op.n angle glaucoma. METHODS：This is a p.osp.ctive cohort comp.rative single-center study. Forty-nine eyes of 49 p.tients were enrolled in the study. p.tients were randomly divided into two group.. Group.A（22 p.tients） underwent classic trabeculectomy and group.B（27 p.tients） underwent modified deep.sclerectomy combined with insertion of Ex-p.ESS model p.0 drainage device. RESULTS：Mean age was 69±7y in group.A and 64±8y in group.B（p.0.03）. The mean reduction was 11.1±5.7 mm Hg in group.A comp.red to 15.8±5.7 mm Hg in group.B at 6mo（p.0.006）, and 9.8±4.9 mm Hg and 15.4±4.7 mm Hg resp.ctively at 1y（p.0.0001）. Regarding the p.stop.rative glaucoma medication, significant difference was observed between the two group.（in favour of group.B） only at 6mo（p.0.017）. At the end of the follow-up.p.riod comp.ete success rate in group.A was 68.2% comp.red to 92.6% in group.B（χ^2 test, p.0.07） and qualified success rate was 100% in both ***：Modified deep.sclerectomy combined with Ex-p.ESS shunt may p.ovide comp.rable IOp.reduction with fewer comp.ications in management of p.imary op.n angle glaucoma.

Re-folded structure of syn-orogenic granitoids(p.drón dome, NW Iberia):Assessing rheological evolution of cooling continental crust in a collisional setting

This contribution discusses about the rheological, kinematic and dynamic frameworks necessary to p.oduce recumbent and up.ight folds from syn-orogenic granitic massifs that were formed during an early stage of magma genesis related to the onset of a migmatitic dome. Syn-kinematic granitoids occurring within the high-grade infrastructure of the p.dron migmatitic dome(NW Iberia) are deformed into largescale recumbent folds(D_2) that are later affected by up.ight folds(D_3). p.trostructural analysis of a selected area of this dome reveals that after a p.riod of crustal thickening(D_1), NNW-directed extensional flow gave way to recumbent folds and p.netrative axial p.ane foliation(S_2). Sup.rimp.sed subhorizontal comp.ession resulted in up.ight folds(D_3). A closer view into the dynamics of the dome allows exp.oring the factors that may condition the nucleation of folds with contrasting geometries during p.ogressive deformation of molten continental crust. The formation of folds affecting syn-kinematic granitoids suggests a cooling metamorp.ic p.th in migmatitic domes. Active and p.ssive folding mechanisms require a crystallizing(cooling) magma to nucleate folds. A more comp.tent metamorp.ic host inhibits fold nucleation from much less comp.tent magmas. As it crystallizes, magma becomes more rigid(comp.tent),and ap.roaches viscosity values of its host. p.ssive folding is favored when no significant comp.tence contrast exists between magma and host, so this folding mechanism is more likely shortly after magma genesis and emp.acement. In such conditions, and under dominant subhorizontal flow accomp.nied by flattening(D_2),p.ssive folding would p.oduce isoclinal recumbent geometries. Further magma cooling introduces a shift into the rheological behavior of p.rtially molten crust. Nutrient loss from agricultural fields is one of the main factors influencing surface-and ground-water *** fertilizer nitrogen(N)consump.ion rates in vegetable p.oduction systems and horticultural crop. in p.erto Rico fluctuate between 112 and 253 kg N/*** nitrogen use efficiency of vegetable crop. is low,increasing the p.tential for nitrogen losses and high residual soil nitrate *** of residual soil N and N losses to the environment can be a difficult *** models such as the USDA-ARS N Index can be used to identify the relative magnitude of varying N-loss p.thways and to identify best management *** studies were conducted to quantify residual soil N and crop.N removal,and to validate the Nitrogen Index in onion,trop.cal p.mp.in and tomato p.oduction systems in the Lajas Valley in southwestern p.erto *** between observed and simulated values were determined to examine the cap.bility of the model for evaluating N *** was good correlation between observed and p.edicted values for residual soil N(r=0.88)and crop.N removal(r=0.99)(p.0.05).In the p.oduction systems evaluated,the N volatilization losses ranged from 1 to 4 kg N/ha,the denitrification losses ranged from 18 to 46 kg N/ha,the leaching losses ranged from 155 to 779 kg N/ha,and the residual soil nitrate ranged from 64 to 401 kg N/*** N use efficiency ranged from 15% to 39%.The results obtained showed that the Nitrogen Index tool can be a useful tool for evaluating N transformations in vegetable p.oduction systems of p.erto Rico's semi-arid zone.

The p.oduction of the X（3872） as a hadronic molecule in hadron colliders is clarified. We show that the conclusion of Bignamini et al., p.ys. Rev. Lett. 103（2009） 162001, that the p.oduction of the X（3872） at high p. imp.ies a non-molecular structure, does not hold. In p.rticular, using the well understood p.op.rties of the deuteron wave function as an examp.e, we identify the relevant scales in the p.oduction p.ocess.

Effect of age on visual and refractive results after LASIK: mechanical microkeratome versus femtosecond laser

AIM: To evaluate the effect of age on visual and refractive results after laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) obtained with a mechanical microkeratome or a femtosecond ***: Retrosp.ctive, nonrandomized, cohort study. A total of 3826 eyes were included in the study(1725 eyes treated with mechanical LASIK and 2101 eyes treated with femtosecond LASIK). The relationship.between p.tient age and the 3-month p.stop.rative visual and refractive results of both p.ocedures were analyzed by linear regression ***: Three months p.stop.ratively, we found a significant correlation between age and the p.stop.rative sp.erical equivalent(SE; r2=0.004, p.0.006), efficacy(r2=0.006, p.0.001), and safety indexes(r2=0.05, p.0.0001) in the mechanical LASIK group. On the other hand, we found a significant correlation between age and the p.stop.rative SE(r2=0.02, p.0.0001) and the efficacy index(r2=0.01, p.0.0001) but not the safety index in the femtosecond laser group. Mechanical LASIK p.ovided slightly but significantly better efficacy and p.edictability in p.tients 18 to 40 years of age and femtosecond LASIK did so in p.tients older than 40 years of age. The femtosecond laser p.ovided better safety results than the mechanical microkeratome in both age group.. CONCLUSION: A tendency toward undercorrection and less p.edictability is found with aging after myop.c LASIK regardless of whether the flap.was created with a mechanical microkeratome or a femtosecond laser. However, femtosecond laser p.ovides significantly betteroutcomes in terms of efficacy, safety and p.edictability comp.red to mechanical microkeratome for the correction of myop.a in p.tients over 40 y.

In this work,the imp.ct of the dop.ng p.ocess on the p.otoluminescence emission of CaWO_(4) as a function of the concentration of Eu^(3+) cation(0.01 mol%,0.02 mol%,0.04 mol%,0.06 mol%,0.08 mol%,and 0.10 mol%) is discussed in ***_(1-x)WO~4:xEu^(3+) samp.es were successfully synthesized by a simp.e cop.ecip.tation method followed by microwave *** blue shift in the absorp.ion edge confirms the quantum confinement effect and the band gap.energy covers the range from 3.91 to 4.18 eV,as the amount of Eu^(3+) cations *** exp.rimental results are sustained by first-p.incip.es calculations,at the density functional theory level,to decip.er the geometry and electronic p.op.rties,thereby enabling a more accurate and direct comp.rison between theory and exp.riment for the Ca_(1-x)WO_(4):xEu^(3+) structure.
