To the Editor: We would like to congratulate Tian and colleagues on their recent article: Diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma with tumor diameter larger than 5 cm [1]. They argued that, despite not being included in the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases(AASLD) guidelines for the diagnosis of liver diseases, contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CEUS) can be of use for diagnosis of large(>5 cm), mass-forming intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC).

Real-time external alteration of the internal properties of lubricants is highly desirable in all mechanical systems. However, fabricating a suitable and effective smart lubricant is a long-lasting experimental process. In this study, the film thickness and frictional response of ionic liquid-lubricated non-conformal contacts to an electric field excitation under elastohydrodynamic conditions were examined. Film thickness was evaluated using a "ball-on-disc" optical tribometer with an electric circuit. Friction tests were carried on a mini traction machine (MTM) tribometer with a "ball-on-disc" rotation module and an electric circuit for contact area excitation. The results demonstrate that there is a difference in the behaviour of the ionic liquid during electric field excitation at the evaluated film thicknesses. The results of evaluated film thicknesses demonstrate that there is a difference in the behaviour of the ionic liquid during electric field excitation. Therefore, the ionic liquids could be a new basis for the smart lubrication of mechanical components. Moreover, the proposed experimental approach can be used to identify electrosensitive fluids.

Dear editor,Airbags are an example of passive preventive measures reducing the risk of severe injury or death from a motor vehicle accident. However, airbags have also been described as a source of injuries related to airbag deployment. Typical airbag-related injuries are eye injuries, cervical spine injuries, rib fractures, cardiac injuries, extremity injuries, and thoracic aortic rupture(TAR).[1-3] Approximately one-third of patients with TAR who survive till hospital admission die before surgical treatment.[4] We present a patient with TAR after a lowspeed motor vehicle accident with rapidly deteriorating vital signs and subsequent death on the scene.

Nowadays,there is a significant need for maintenance free modern Internet of things(IoT)devices which can monitor an *** devices such as these are mobile embedded devices which provide data to the internet via Low Power Wide Area Network(LPWAN).LPWAN is a promising communications technology which allows machine to machine(M2M)communication and is suitable for smallmobile embedded *** paper presents a novel data-driven self-learning(DDSL)controller algorithm which is dedicated to controlling small mobile maintenance-free embedded IoT *** DDSL algorithm is based on a modified Q-learning algorithm which allows energy efficient data-driven behavior of mobile embedded IoT *** aim of the DDSL algorithm is to dynamically set operation duty cycles according to the estimation of future collected data values,leading to effective operation of power-aware *** presented novel solution was tested on a historical data set and compared with a fixed duty cycle reference *** root mean square error(RMSE)and measurements parameters considered for the DDSL algorithm were compared to a reference algorithm and two independent criteria(the performance score parameter and normalized geometric distance)were used for overall evaluation and *** experiments showed that the novel DDSL method reaches significantly lowerRMSE while the number of transmitted data count is less than or equal to the fixed duty cycle *** overall criteria performance score is 40%higher than the reference algorithm base on static confirmation settings.

AIM:To examine the activation of the Nalp3 inflammasome and its downstream targets following lipopolysaccharide(LPS) -induced stimulation in the liver. METHODS:Six-to-eight-week-old C57BL/6 chow fed mice were injected intraperitoneally with 0.5μg/g bodyweight LPS and sacrificed 2,4,6,18 or 24 h later. LPS-induced liver damage was confirmed by a biochemical assay to detect alanine aminotransferase(ALT) *** determine if LPS stimulation in the liver led to activation of the inflammasome,real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction was used to evaluate the mRNA expression of components of the Nalp3 ***-linked immunosorbent assays were used to determine the protein expression levels of several downstream targets of the Nalp3 inflammasome,including caspase-1 and two cytokine targets of caspase-1,interleukin(IL) -1βand IL-18. RESULTS:We found that LPS injection resulted in liver damage as indicated by elevated ALT *** was associated with a significant increase in both mRNA and protein levels of the proinflammatory cy-tokine tumor necrosis factor(TNF) -αin the liver,as well as increased levels of TNFs in *** showed that LPS stimulation led to upregulation of mRNA levels in the liver for all the receptor components of the inflammasome,including Nalp3,Nalp1,pannexin-1 and the adaptor molecule apoptosis-associated specklike,caspase recruitment domain-domain containing *** also found increased levels of mRNA and protein for caspase-1,a downstream target of the *** addition,LPS challenge led to increased levels of both mRNA and protein in the liver for two cytokine targets of caspase-1,IL-1βand IL-18.
