Harmful effects of pyrethroid ester insecticide on the male reproductive system mainly through affecting testicular function and inflammatory markers

Pyrethroid esters are widely used as insecticides worldwide. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the harmful effect of deltamethrin on the male reproductive system through the assessment of reproductive hormones, inflammatorymarkers, and testicular function. To achieve our aim, eighty male 7-9-week-old, Wistar rats were taken, weighed, and divided into four experimental groups. The first group was kept as a control group, and the other three groups were given deltamethrin orally at different concentrations (0.87, 8.7, and 17.4 mg/kg body weight) for nine weeks. The resultsindicated that deltamethrin administration associated with a significant decrease in reproductive hormones, especially FSH, LH, and significant elevation in the interleukin 2 (IL2), interleukin 6 (IL6), histamine, and cortisol levels. Also, thesignificance of inhibition of sperm motility and viability, decreased testis weights, sperm count, and fructose in semen were noted. These findings clarify the harmful effect of deltamethrin on the male reproductive system by producing a significant alteration in reproductive hormones, inflammatory markers as well as testicular function.

Novel technique of insulin loading into porous carriers for oral delivery

The increasing demand for oral macromolecule delivery encouraged the development of mi-croencapsulation technologies to protect such drugs against gastric and enzymatic degra-dation. However, microencapsulation often requires harsh conditions that may jeopardizetheir biological activity. Accordingly, many trials attempted to load macromolecules intoporous drug carriers to bypass any formulation induced instability. In this study, we pre-pared chitosan coated porous poly(d, l-lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA) microparticles(MPs)loaded with insulin using a novel loading technique; double freeze-drying. The resultsshowed a significant increase in drug loading using only 5 mg/ml initial insulin concen-tration and conveyed a sustained drug release over uncoated MPs. Furthermore, SEM andconfocal microscopy confirmed pore blocking and insulin accumulation within the MPs re-spectively. The oral pharmacodynamic data on rats also proved the preservation of insulinbioactivity after formulation. Finally, the new coating technique proved to be efficient inproducing robust layer of chitosan with higher insulin loading while maintaining insulinactivity.

Age distribution,polyps and rectal cancer in the Egyptian population-based cancer registry

In the literature,numerous techniques have been employed to decrease noise in medical image modalities,including X-Ray(XR),Ultrasonic(Us),Computed Tomography(CT),Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI),and Positron Emission Tomography(PET).These techniques are organized into two main classes:the Multiple Image(mi)and the Single Image(SI)*** the mi techniques,images usually obtained for the same area scanned from different points of view are used.A single image is used in the entire procedure in the SI *** denoising techniques can be carried out both in a transform or spatial *** paper is concerned with single-image noise reduction techniques because we deal with single medical *** most well-known spatial domain noise reduction techniques,including Gaussian filter,Kuan filter,Frost filter,Lee filter,Gabor filter,Median filter,Homomorphic filter,Speckle reducing anisotropic diffusion(SRAD),Nonlocal-Means(NL-Means),and Total Variation(TV),are ***,the transform domain noise reduction techniques,including wavelet-based and Curvelet-based techniques,and some hybridization techniques are ***,a deep(Convolutional Neural Network)CNN-based denoising model is proposed to eliminate Gaussian and Speckle noises in different medical image *** model utilizes the Batch Normalization(BN)and the ReLU as a basic *** a result,it attained a considerable improvement over the traditional *** previously mentioned techniques are evaluated and compared by calculating qualitative visual inspection and quantitative parameters like Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Correlation Coefficient(Cr),and system complexity to determine the optimum denoising algorithm to be applied *** on the quality metrics,it is demonstrated that the proposed deep CNN-based denoising model is efficient and has superior denoising performance over the traditionaldenoising techniques.
