Life cycle assessment of oxygen-18 production using cryogenic oxygen distillation

In this study, life cycle assessment of oxygen-18 by using cryogenic distillation of oxygen is performed using SimaPro 8.3 software. Life cycle assessment is performed to understand the environmental profile and hotspots of this process in order to be used in design and development. Simulation of oxygen-18 process is executed by Hysys software, and the required inputs and outputs for inventory of life cycle were acquired. By doing life cycle assessment and considering achieved results after characterization and normalization of inventory data it has been investigated that in the majority of environmental impacts electricity consumption has a huge contribution relative to other parts of the system like liquefied oxygen production from air separation unit,required facilities for air separation and oxygen-18 units, and needed transportation. Also, among 17 impact categories investigated in ReCiPe impact assessment method, fossil depletion, climate change(human health),particulate matter formation, climate change(ecosystem), human toxicity, and metal depletion have the most contribution in entire environmental loads respectively. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis showed that changing life cycle impact assessment method from ReCiPe to IMPACT 2002+ has no significant effect on acquired results and results are confident. In addition, assumption of market for depleted oxygen from heavy isotopes which is withdrawn from top of distillation columns showed some positive effects compared to first case and environmental impacts resulted from liquefied oxygen production(feed) reduced but because of huge contribution of electricity consumption compared to other sections, this positive effect has no remarkable influence on entire environmental loads of product system.

SOLUBLE POLYIMIDES FROM A SEMI-ALIPHATIC DIAMINE CONTAINING ESTER,AMIDE AND ETHER GROUPS

A diamine was synthesized by two successive reactions. Nucleophilic reaction of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid with terephthaloyl chloride yielded terephthaloyl bis（4-oxybenzoic） acid. Then reaction of this compound with 1,8-diamino-3,6- dioxaoctane via Yamazaki method resulted in preparation of diamine named terephthalic acid bis（4-{2-[2-（2-amino ethoxy）ethoxy]ethyl carbamoyl}phenyl） ester. After fully characterization it was used to prepare new polyimides through polycondensation with different dianhydrides using trimethylchlorosilane. Characterization of polymers was achieved by common methods and their physical properties including inherent viscosity, thermal behavior, thermal stability, crystallinity and solubility were studied. Prepared polyimides showed improved solubility and good thermal stability.

Overall profit Malmquist productivity index under data uncertainty

The calculation of the overall profit Malmquist productivity index(MPI)requires precise and accurate information on the input,output,input-output prices of each decision making unit(DMU).However,in many situations,some inputs and/or outputs and input-output prices are *** such,we consider the overall profit MPI problem when the input,output,and input-output prices are imprecise and vary over intervals,showing that method(MCM 54:2827–2838,2011)has some *** remedy these shortfalls,we propose another method for measuring the overall profit MPI when the inputs,outputs,and price vectors vary over *** is,to calculate the overall profit efficiency intervals,cone-ratio data envelopment analysis models can be applied to the incorporated information as weight ***,we provide a new approach to calculating the upper bound of the overall profit efficiency of each DMU.A numerical example is provided for illustrating the proposed method.

An investigation on the best-fit models for sugarcane biomass estimation by linear mixedeffect modelling on unmanned aerial vehicle-based multispectral images:A case study of Australia

Due to the worldwide population growth and the increasing needs for sugar-based products,accurate estimation of sugarcane biomass is critical to the precise monitoring of sugarcane *** research aims to find the imperative predictors correspond to the random and fixed effects to improve the accuracy of wet and dry sugarcane biomass estimations by integrating ground data and multi-temporal images from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs).The multispectral images and biomass measurements were obtained at different sugarcane growth stages from 12 plots with three nitrogen fertilizer *** spectral bands and different combinations of the plots,growth stages,and nitrogen fertilizer treatments were investigated to address the issue of selecting the correct fixed and random effects for the modelling.A model selection strategy was applied to obtain the optimum fixed effects and their proportional *** results showed that utilizing Green,Blue,and Near Infrared spectral bands on models rather than all bands improved model performance for wet and dry biomass ***,the combination of plots and growth stages outperformed all the candidates of random *** proposed model outperformed the Multiple Linear Regression(MLR),Generalized Linear Model(GLM),and Generalized Additive Model(GAM)for wet and dry sugarcane biomass,with coefficients of determination(R2)of 0.93 and 0.97,and Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)of 12.78 and 2.57 t/ha,*** study indicates that the proposed model can accurately estimate sugarcane biomasses without relying on nitrogen fertilizers or the saturation/senescence problem of Vegetation Indices(VIs)in mature growth stages.

Association between heat stress and oxidative stress in poultry;mitochondrial dysfunction and dietary interventions with phytochemicals

Heat as a stressor of poultry has been studied extensively for many decades; it affects poultry production on a worldwide basis and has significant impact on well-being and production. More recently, the involvement of heat stress in inducing oxidative stress has received much interest. Oxidative stress is defined as the presence of reactive species in excess of the available antioxidant capacity of animal cells. Reactive species can modify several biologically cellular macromolecules and can interfere with cell signaling pathways. Furthermore, during the last decade, there has been an ever-increasing interest in the use of a wide array of natural feed-delivered phytochemicals that have potential antioxidant properties for poultry. In light of this, the current review aims to（1） summarize the mechanisms through which heat stress triggers excessive superoxide radical production in the mitochondrion and progresses into oxidative stress,（2） illustrate that this pathophysiology is dependent on the intensity and duration of heat stress,（3） present different nutritional strategies for mitigation of mitochondrial dysfunction, with particular focus on antioxidant *** stress that occurs with heat exposure can be manifest in all parts of the body; however, mitochondrial dysfunction underlies oxidative stress. In the initial phase of acute heat stress, mitochondrial substrate oxidation and electron transport chain activity are increased resulting in excessive superoxide production. During the later stage of acute heat stress, down-regulation of avian uncoupling protein worsens the oxidative stress situation causing mitochondrial dysfunction and tissue damage. Typically, antioxidant enzyme activities are upregulated. Chronic heat stress, however, leads to downsizing of mitochondrial metabolic oxidative capacity, up-regulation of avian uncoupling protein, a clear alteration in the pattern of antioxidant enzyme activities, and depletion of antioxidant reserve

本研究的目标在于探讨翻转教学方法及自主调控翻转教学方法对英语作为外语学习者搭配知识产生的影响。在本研究中,共计30名英语作为外语的学习者被随机分配至两个等规模的实验组:翻转课堂组与自主调控翻转组。为期六周的实验过程中,两组学生在课余时间自学相应学习内容,课堂时间则主要用于开展互动活动。然而,自主调控翻转组运用自我调节策略(包括目标设定和自我评估),以便于他们能够妥善规划课外时间,有效地在课前掌握内容,并在课堂活动中与同学及教师展开协同互动。该项研究通过Whats App向多个小组分发了三段关于搭配的教学视频。研究所使用的测试包括形容词+名词和动词+名词搭配,由研究员制定,用于前测和后测。此外,通过“学习日志”记录了参与者观看搭配视频所耗用的时间。混合设计方差分析结果显示,将自主调控融入翻转教学策略有助于提升学生搭配知识水平;同时,他们的规划技巧及学习时间管理亦有所优化。此项研究对英语作为外语教学领域的教师和教材开发者具有显著启示意义。
