Conventional in-vitro fertilization(C-IVF)and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)are the two existing insemination methods presently in use in contemporary medically assisted reproduction *** C-IVF refers to co-incubation of a cumulus-oocyte complex(COC)with a certain concentration of sperm suspension,ICSI is defined as the injection of a single spermatozoon directly into the ooplasm of a denuded *** the balance of the literature is motivating enough to prefer C-IVF as the insemination method in non-male factor infertility cases,real world data reflect that majority of the practitioners are far from being convinced to do so[1].

Denizli graben （DG） is bounded in the NE by the Pamukkale fault zone and in the SW by the Babadag-Honaz fault zone. The Babada and Honaz fault zones are generally made up as nearly E-W directed two segments. The Pamukkale fault also contains many overlapping segments in the Denizli area along the NE margin of the graben. The DG contains an NW-SE trending horst （Karakova） controlled by normal faults with oppositely dipping high angles and that truncate the Plio-Quaternary rock units. The faults that bound the DG are likely to have been initiated during the Early to Late Miocene and appear to be active today. The faults of the DG are active and the potential energy that accumulates in them is easily conducted to the other faults that they come in contact with. This signifies that a movement in one of the faults forming the grabens in the Denizli region affects the other structures as well. Earthquakes in the Buldan region usually occur 2-3 years after seismical movements occur in the Denizli Basin. The Buldan region is a ridge between DG and Ala ehir graben （ALG）. Based on the fact that DG in its south and ALG in its north move seismically, there is a probability that a break would appear in the Buldan region in the near future.

The aim of this experimental study is to investigate the effects of hydraulic parameters on the formation of air-entraining vortices at horizontal intake structures without approach flow induced circulation. Six intake pipes of different diameters were tested in the study. The intake pipe to be tested was horizontally mounted to the front side of a large reservoir and then for a wide range of discharges experiments were conducted and critical submergences were detected with adjustable approach channel sidewalls. Empirical equations were derived for the dimensionless critical submergence as a function of the relevant dimensionless parameters. Available data is also checked for the possible scale effect. Then, these obtained equations were compared with the similar ones in the literature which showed a quite good agreement.

Cloud computing enables performing computations and analysis tasks and sharing services in web-based computer centres instead of local desktop *** of the most used areas of cloud computing is geographic information systems(GIS)*** Desktop GIS products are still used in the community frequently,Web GIS and Cloud GIS applications have drawn attention and have become more efficient for *** this study,a serverless Cloud GIS framework is implemented for the land valuation *** order to store,analyse,and share geospatial data,the Aurora Serverless PostgreSQL database is created on Amazon Web Services(AWS).While adopting Aurora Serverless PostgreSQL as a database management system,a simple point in polygon analysis conducted to compare the performances with Amazon Relational Database Service(RDS)*** showed that the serverless database responded to the query faster and scaled up during high workload to decrease ***,parcel vector data,which conveys ownership information and land values attributes,is shared directly from the PostGIS database as vector *** S3 and AWS Lambda services are used for storing and disseminating raster-based land value map *** visualize all shared data and maps through a web browser,open source web mapping library Mapbox GL JS is used.

AIM: To investigate the correlation between hepatic osteodystrophy and osteoporosis in patients with liver cirrhosis. METHODS: Bone mineral density of the patients (n = 55) and that of the control group (n = 30) were measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. All the women in the study were premenopausal. Deoxypyridinoline, pyridinoline and urinary Ca 2+ were measured as bone destruction markers, while alkaline phosphatase (ALP), osteocalcin and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) were measured as bone formation markers. Furthermore, interleukin-1 (IL-1), IL-6, tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), vitamin D3, direct bilirubin, albumin, cortisol and parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels were measured. The independent Student t test and χ 2 test were employed in comparing both groups, and the Pearson correlation test was used to determine associations. RESULTS: Comparing cirrhosis and control groups, lumbar total T-score (-1.6 ± 1.2 g/cm 2 vs -0.25 ± 1.3 g/cm 2 , P < 0.001), lumbar total Z-score (-1.2 ± 1.23 g/cm 2 vs -0.6 ± 1.3 g/cm 2 , P < 0.001), total femur T-score (-0.05 ± 1 g/cm 2 vs -0.6 ± 0.9 g/cm 2 , P = 0.003) and total femur Z-score (-0.08 ± 1.5 g/cm 2 vs 0.7 ± 0.9 g/cm 2 , P =0.003) showed significantly lower values in the cirrhosis group. Blood ALP level (109.2 ± 57 U/Lvs 62.6 ± 32.5 U/L, P < 0.001), IL-6 level (27.9 ± 51.6 pg/mL vs 3.3 ± 3.1 pg/mL, P = 0.01), TNF-α level (42.6 ± 33.2 pg/mL vs 25.3 ± 12.3 pg/mL, P = 0.007) and direct bilirubin level (0.9 ± 0.7 mg/dL vs 0.3 ± 0.2 mg/dL, P < 0.001) were significantly higher in the cirrhosis group. IGF-1 level (47.7 ± 26.2 ng/mL vs 143.4 ± 53.2 ng/mL, P < 0.001), osteocalcin level (1.05 ± 2.5 ng/mL vs 7.0 ± 13 ng/mL, P = 0.002) and 24 h urinary Ca 2+ (169.6 ± 227.2 mg/dL vs 287 ± 168.6 mg/dL, P = 0.003) were significantly lower in the cirrhosis group. Objective:To investigate the perception of antibiotics,the frequency of inappropriate antibiotic use,and the factors that lead to inappropriate antibiotic use by parents who apply to primary healthcare ***:This cross-sectional study included 973 parents who applied to primary healthcare *** analyzed basic concepts related to antibiotics prescribed for their children,antibiotic administration,and antibiotic resistance,as well as parents'knowledge and attitudes towards antibiotic use,and their experiences,practices,and perceptions related to purchasing antibiotics without ***:In the past one year,78.9%of the parents gave antibiotics to their children at least once,and 39.1%gave antibiotics three or more *** of the participants(7.1%)reported having forced the physician to prescribe antibiotics and purchased antibiotics without a prescription(13.2%).The knowledge about antibiotics and awareness about antibiotic resistance were found to be more frequent;among parents who had university degrees,higher income levels,two or fewer children,social insurance and negative behaviours were lower in those who received information about antibiotics from healthcare *** probability of taking antibiotics without prescription was lower in that of with higher income level(OR 0.460;95%CI 0.219-0.965),and the probability of forcing antibiotic prescription was higher in those with 3 or more children(OR 6.94;95%CI 2.37-20.26).The score obtained from the awareness of antibiotic resistance sub-dimension was found to negatively affect the behavior of forcing antibiotic prescription(OR 0.852;95%CI 0.732-0.993)but the score obtained from the behaviour sub-dimension was positively affect this behaviour(OR 1.136;95%CI 1.011-1.276).Conclusions:Inappropriate antibiotic use appears to be a problem with negative perception,lack of knowledge and socioeconomic *** should be conducted to increase antibiotic knowledge in parents

This study describes the seismic performance of an existing five storey reinforced concrete building which represents the typical properties of low-rise non-ductile buildings in Turkey. The effectiveness of shear walls and the steel bracings in retrofitting the building was examined through nonlinear static and dynamic analyses. By using the nonlinear static analysis, retrofitted buildings seismic performances under lateral seismic load were compared with each other. Moreover, the performance points and response levels of the existing and retrofitting cases were determined by way of the capacity-spectrum method described in ATC-40 (1996). For the nonlinear dynamic analysis the records were selected to represent wide ranges of duration and frequency content. Considering the change in the stiffness and the energy dissipation capacities, the performance of the existing and retrofitted buildings were evaluated in terms of story drifts and damage states. It was found that each earthquake record exhibited its own peculiarities, dictated by frequency content, duration, sequence of peaks and their amplitude. The seismic performance of retrofitted buildings resulted in lower displacements and higher energy dissipation capacity depending mainly on the properties of the ground motions and the retrofitting strategies. Moreover, severe structural damage (irreparable or collapse) was observed for the existing building. However, buildings with retrofit alternatives exhibited lower damage levels changing from no damage to irreparable damage states.

Anterior vitrectomy and partial capsulectomy via anterior approach to treat chronic postoperative endophthalmitis

AIM:To describe the results of vitrectomy and partial capsulectomy via anterior approach surgical technique in treatment of chronic postoperative endophthalmitis (CPE). METHODS:Clinical records of 9 patients treated for CPE between 2006 and 2010 were reviewed retrospectively. All of these patients were treated with vitrectomy and partial capsulectomy via anterior approach. RESULTS:Six of 9 patients were male. The average patients’ age was (60 ±8.1) years. The average period between cataract extraction and onset of signs and symptoms was (3.6±1.3) weeks. The average presenting visual acuity was 0.3 ±0.1 and the average final post operative visual acuity was 0.7±0.2. The mean follow-up period was (28.1±8.9) weeks. In all patients, the inflammation subsided after surgery. · CONCLUSION:Our results suggest that anterior vitrectomy and partial capsulectomy via anterior approach may be considered as potentially useful and relatively less invasive technique to treat CPE.
