Objective: Chemotherapeutic drugs, such as cisplatin(CP), which are associated with oxidative stress and apoptosis, may adversely affect the reproductive system. This study tests whether administration of propolis and nano-propolis(NP) can alleviate oxidative stress and apoptosis in rats with testicular damage induced by ***: In this study, polymeric nanoparticles including propolis were synthesized with a green sonication method and characterized using Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer-EmmettTeller, and wet scanning transmission electron microscopy techniques. In total, 56 rats were divided into the following seven groups: control, CP, propolis, NP-10, CP + propolis, CP + NP-10, and CP + ***(100 mg/kg), NP-10(10 mg/kg), and NP-30(30 mg/kg) treatments were administered by gavage daily for 21 d, and CP(3 mg/kg) was administered intraperitoneally in a single dose. After the experiment,oxidative stress parameters, namely, malondialdehyde(MDA), glutathione(GSH), glutathione peroxidase(GPx), and catalase(CAT), and apoptotic pathways including B cell leukemia/lymphoma-2 protein(Bcl-2)and Bcl-2-associated X protein(Bax) were measured in testicular tissues. Furthermore, sperm quality and weights of the testis, epididymis, right cauda epididymis, seminal vesicles and prostate were ***: Propolis and NP(especially NP-30) were able to preserve oxidative balance(decreased MDA levels and increased GSH, CAT, and GPx activities) and activate apoptotic pathways(decreased Bax and increased Bcl-2) in the testes of CP-treated rats. Sperm motility in the control, CP, and CP + NP-30 groups were 60%, 48.75%, and 78%, respectively(P<0.001). Especially, NP-30 application completely corrected the deterioration in sperm features induced by ***: The results show that propolis and NP treatments mitigated the side effects of CP on spermatogenic activity, antioxidant situation, and apoptosis in rats.

Sterilization of Seed <i>Carthamus tinctorius</i>(Safflower) Plant and Investigation of the Effectiveness of the Sterilizants

Plant tissue culture studies are one of the pretreatments carried out to increase crop yield by preventing germination in plant seeds. In this research, repeated plant tissue culture studies were conducted with sterilizers specific to safflower seed, which will increase production efficiency but do not cause genetic polymorphism and corrosion in endosperm with 3N chromosomes. Corrosives were used by dilution, and this did not damage the 3N chromosome endosperm, targeting the protein walls of microorganisms on the seed surface without eroding the seed surface, thereby providing biological sterilization. Besides, because it does not contain heavy metals, it did not cause polymorphism, that is, a mutation in the genetic sequence of the seed. Moreover, the environment and the equipment were sterilized with 2 - 3 repetitions, sterilizer treatment, planting, and germination operations were performed in a sterile environment this, in turn, allowed an isolated assessment of the yield of solution G.

The Effect of Nitrogen Gas Cooling Which Is Used in Aluminium Extrusion Mold on Production Efficiency

It is aimed to investigate the efficiency of nitrogen gas cooling which is used in aluminium extrusion mold in this study. The exit temperature of extrusion profile increases depending on heat generated by friction and forming. This situation can cause to surface defects such as hot cracks and grain thickening after extrusion process. Cooling of the mold has a critical role in terms of dissipating heat close to the forming zone. Local internal cooling experiments were performed in the hot aluminium extrusion mold within the scope of this study. It has been obtained that exit temperature of the aluminium extrusion profile can be significantly reduced in experimental results. Also it was found that the reduction of press time (s) and increase of press speed (mm/s). This paper focuses the effect of nitrogen gas cooling on extrusion mold for process efficiency. The extrusion parameters were performed for comparative analysis. Its obtained that process ensures efficiency.

Release of Anticancer Drug 5-Fluorouracil from Different Ionically Crosslinked Alginate Beads

In this research;the release of 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) from different ionically crosslinked alginate (Alg) beads was investigated by using Fe3+, Al3+, Zn2+, and Ca2+, ions as crosslinking agent. The prepared beads were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Scanning Electron Micros-copy (SEM). The drug release studies were carried out at three pH values 1.2, 6.8 and 7.4 respectively each for two hours. The effects of the preparation conditions as crosslinker type, drug/polymer (w/w) ratio, crosslinker concentration and time of exposure to crosslinker on the release of 5-FU were investigated for 6 hours at 37℃. It was observed that 5-FU release from the beads followed the order of Fe > Zn > Al > Ca-Alg and increased with increasing drug/polymer ratio. At the end of 6 hours, the highest 5-FU release was found to be 90% (w/w) for Fe-Alg beads at the drug/polymer ratio of 1/8 (w/w), crosslinker concentration of 0.05 M, exposure time of 10 minutes respectively. The swelling measurements of the beads supported the release results. Release kinetics was described by Fickian and non-Fickian approaches.

The main targets set for economic growth in the World Bank＇s 1990 report is to provide a permanent and sustainable poverty eradication strategies on the development. Used for this purpose today, the most effective strategy comes at the beginning of micro-credit system. Microcredit, in particular in the area of the individuals, and its opportunities to increase the credit to the users of the production process and ensure active participation in the society starting from the women＇s economic initiatives, but it cannot be considered as a micro-economic factors in the economy to facilitate an effective financial mechanism. Many studies in the literature have revealed that women＇s contribution to family income of households in poverty has created an important support. In addition, micro-credit system encourages women to create their own jobs, as the GNP （Gross National Product） of the countries contribution to increase employment opportunities. There are opinions arguing that, making use of the contact with communities in the potential female workforce satisfactory for women to create job opportunities to gain income is able to provide initial capital to the existing banking system, because in many countries＇ negative socio-cultural conditions, competing with men is much difficult. Micro-credit system, in the respect of changing countries socio-cultural and socio-economic structures is an important contribution. Microfinance occurred in recent years by rapid developments in Turkey since 2000, progress has been very professional. The Addiction Profiles of Substance Users with Comorbid Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder: The Comparison with Substance Users without Comorbid Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder

Objective: The aim of this study is to compare the addiction profiles of substance users with comorbid attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and of those without attention-deficit hyper-activity disorder (ADHD) comorbidity. Method: 100 patients with substance use disorder (SUD) who continued to undergo inpatient treatment during September 2014-August 2015 in Private Balikli Rum Hospital were included in the study. Based on DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, 50 patients who have SUD with ADHD comorbidity were considered as study group, the other 50 patients with only SUD were evaluated as control group. Sociodemographic Data Form, Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Addiction Profile Index (BAPI), and Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS ADHD) were given to the patients who participated to the study. Results: It was found that the age of onset for substance use was younger in a statistically significant manner in the patients who had SUD with comorbid ADHD (ADHD-SUD group) than the control group (SUD group) (t = 3.57, p = 0.001). Regarding to scores in the scales of these two groups, scores of aggression questionnaire (BPAQ) and craving subscale (BAPI) in ADHD-SUD group were significantly higher comparing to SUD group. Conclusion: In this study, it was revealed that the age of onset for substance use was younger in substance users with comorbid ADHD and that the level of aggression and craving was higher again in this group. Craving and level of aggression might have negative impacts on the treatment process. Therefore, we believe that it is essential to consider ADHD comorbidity in patients with substance use disorders.

在现代化理论看来,现代化将会改变社会价值,而现代社会政治文化也变得更加民主。本文以中国和土耳其的现代化经历作为案例来讨论现代化理论命题的真伪。通过文献综述和基于世界价值观调查项目的数据,本论文探讨了中国和土耳其的革命和改革是否改变了传统价值以及传统价值延续存在的价值和意义。现代化是一个较难以界定和说明的概念。在土耳其,奥斯曼帝国的现代化是西方化的;在中国,则是一个解决政治问题的试验。论文第一章所讨论的是关于现代化和政治文化之间相互影响的问题。我们不难发现,模仿或加以调整形成运作更好的系统和制度实际上并不能创造出让那些系统和制度所要求出现的价值和意识。如果将个体化、合理化和差异化界定为现代化的核心价值的话,那么,我们就需要承认土耳其和中国的革命均尚未达到这样一个社会变化的程度。由此可以看出,为了得到预期的结果,粗糙而草率地植入与其格格不入的价值观最终并不会导致价值的变化。第二章对现代化未能成功地改变中国和土耳其的民族主义和自我认同的原因作出分析。两个强大的国家,一个称自己为宇宙帝国的奥斯曼帝国和一个名叫自己天下的中国,土耳和其中国有着相同的要求现代化：求生存以及反对和羞辱西方的帝国主义,而由这种羞辱所构成的国家认同是这两个国家现代社会习惯的重要组成部分。第三章讨论权威概念。权威主义政治制度能长时间存在不是只靠独裁领袖,更多的是靠独裁社会。现代化的革命本应该断绝过去的传统,土耳其和中国都希望建立全新的政权,创建自己的遗产。在中国,革命者采用共产主义方式取代独裁价值,在土耳其,则采用民主意识取代独裁价值。可是,新成立的现代制度承继以前的理念,因而也遭受同样的问题。第四章讨论有关价值移植的失败,并考察旧的价值的线性延续。本文认为,中国和土耳其的现代化并没有最终导致政治价值的变化,尽管都尝试进行价值的移植。现代人遵守规则不是因为它们是社会准则,而是因为他们个人坚信规则的理性。社会工程过多或不足都导致价值移植失败。土耳其和中国的现代化并没有满足改变政治文化的需求。事实上,政治文化的变化唯有在“政治软件需求”产生时方才能发生。这些政治软件需求包括：1.集中与分散的组合;2.边界的维护和控制;3.软实力和硬实力的集成;4.合法性和5.灵活性。研究表明,中国和土耳其的现代化所重视的是“集中”,而边界的维护则就相对薄弱。新的国家体系经常采取暴力手段来解决社会问题,软实力和硬实力都没有很好地协调,硬实力过剩,而软实力却不足。此外,虽然在现代化进程中,中国和土耳其都集中目标摧毁旧帝国的残余,可是这种现代化是建立在旧的价值观和理念的基础之上。这势必会切断过去强烈的传统从而使得这些建立一个新的国度的措施变得太过生硬,同时也使得新的政体过于僵化。总的来说,土耳其和中国现代化的五个政治软件要求其实都没有得到满足,所以最终导致现代化对政治文化的影响不大。

Effect of Thermocycle Aging on Color Stability of Monolithic Zirconia

Background: The color stability of dental restorative materials is important for long-term clinical success. Objectives: The objective of this study was to examine the effect of thermocycling on the color and translucency stability of monolithic zirconia. Materials and methods: A total of 80 disc-shaped specimens (1 cm diameter) were produced from monolithic zirconia material, Katana High Translucent (Kuraray Noritake Dental, Kurashiki, Japan). The specimens were prepared in four different thicknesses: 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm and 2 mm. Before thermocycling, color measurements of the specimens were made by a spectrophotometer (Spectro Shade TM MICRO;MHT Optic Research AG, Milan, Italy). After the thermal aging procedure, the color measurement was repeated. Data obtained from the study were analyzed with descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s tests. Results: After thermocycling, the L*, a*, b* values decreased at all thicknesses. The maximum change in the L*, a* and b* values was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens, while the least change was observed in 2-mm-thick specimens. The amount of color change in the specimens after thermocycling was found to be the highest in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (ΔE = 0.91 ± 0.02), and the lowest in 2-mm-thick specimens (ΔE = 0.85 ± 0.01). While a statistically significant color change (ΔE) was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (p 0.05) in 1-mm, 1.5-mm, and 2-mm-thick specimens. After thermocycling, the translucency parameter (TP) values decreased at all thicknesses. The highest change in the TP values was observed in 0.5-mm-thickspecimens (1.09 ± 0.03), while the lowest change was observed in 2-mm-thickspecimens (0.40 ± 0.04). While a statistically significant change in the TP values was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (p < 0.05), there was a statistically insignificant change in the TP values of 1-mm, 1.5-mm and 2-mm-thick specime
