Ethidium bromide(EtBr)is one of the contaminants recorded in aquatic environments whose effects have been investigated;however,there is still limited knowledge about its *** study examined the potential protective effects of Spirulina platensis(SP)against the effects of EtBr toxicity in the Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus)*** were divided to five groups,viz.,a control and four treatment groups of low-dose EtBr(10μg/L),low-dose EtBr with SP(10μg/L EtBr+200 mg/L SP),high-dose EtBr(100μg/L),and high-dose EtBr with SP(100μg/L EtBr+200 mg/L SP);the exposure period was 2 *** and high doses of EtBr induced alterations in some hematological,biochemical,and histopathological *** hepatocytes,degenerated area,vacuolated hepatocytes,pyknotic nuclei,constricted and dilated blood sinusoids,and infiltration of inflammatory cells were *** peroxidation concentration was not significantly different in groups exposed to low doses of EtBr and EtBr with SP,but it was increased in groups exposed to high doses of EtBr and EtBr with SP,compared with the control *** feeding with SP,most histological and histochemical parameters restored to normal ***,SP may possess the ability to preserve the structural integrity of the hepatic and renal membranes.

Small non-protein coding micro-RNAs are regularly exported out of cells, both in health and disease. More than ninety percent of extracellular miRNAs are associated with lower-molecular-mass complexes bound to Argonaute 2 (Ago2), nucleophosmin-1 (NPM1) and high density lipoproteins (HDL), whereas the rest (~10%) are membrane-vesicle-encapsulated within exosomes, shedding microvesicles and apoptotic bodies. Regardless of the debate of the nature of circulating miRNA as byproducts of routine cell activities or mediators of cell-cell communication, proper understanding of the molecular behaviors of miRNA in health and disease, is expected to open a new gate for the discovery of new diagnostic tools and possibly therapeutic implementation in the near future.

BACKGROUND Pancreatic cystic lesions(PCLs) are common in clinical practice. The accurate classification and diagnosis of these lesions are crucial to avoid unnecessary treatment of benign lesions and missed opportunities for early treatment of potentially malignant *** To evaluate the role of cyst fluid analysis of different tumor markers such as cancer antigens [e.g., cancer antigen(CA)19-9, CA72-4], carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA), serine protease inhibitor Kazal-type 1(SPINK1), interleukin 1 beta(IL1-β), vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGF-A), and prostaglandin E2(PGE2)], amylase, and mucin stain in diagnosing pancreatic cysts and differentiating malignant from benign *** This study included 76 patients diagnosed with PCLs using different imaging modalities. All patients underwent endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) and EUS-fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA) for characterization and sampling of different *** The mean age of studied patients was 47.4 ± 11.4 years, with a slight female predominance(59.2%). Mucin stain showed high statistical significance in predicting malignancy with a sensitivity of 87.1% and specificity of 95.56%. It also showed a positive predictive value and negative predictive value of 93.1% and 91.49%, respectively(P els had high statistical significance(P elation with mural nodules, lymph nodes, cyst diameter, mucin stain, and cyst fluid CEA. While Egypt’s canola production per unit area has recently grown,productivity remains low,necessitating increased *** are water-absorbent polymer compounds that can optimize irrigation schedules by increasing the soil’s ability to retain ***,twoﬁeld experiments were conducted to examine hydrogel application to sandy soil on canola growth,biochemical aspects,yield,yield traits,and nutritional quality of yielded seeds grown under water deﬁcit stress *** experiments were conducted by arranging a split-plot layout in a randomized complete block design(RCBD)with three times replications of each *** water stress at 75%or 50%of crop evapotranspiration(ETc)lowered chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,caro-tenoids,and total pigments content,indole-3-acetic acid,plant development,seed yield,and oil and total carbo-hydrates of seed yield,hydrogel treatment enhanced all of the traits mentioned ***,hydrogel enhanced to gather compatible solutes(proline,amino acids,total soluble sugars),phenolics content in leaves,seed protein,and crop water productivity,which increased while the plants were under water *** results revealed that the full irrigation(100%ETc)along with hydrogel compared to water-stressed(50%ETc)led to enhanced seed yield(kg ha^(-1)),Oil(%),and Total carbohydrates(%)of rapeseed by 57.1%,11.1%and 15.7%,***,under water-stressed plots with hydrogel exhibited enhancement by 10.0%,3.2%and 5.1%in seed yield(kg ha^(-1)),oil(%),and total carbohydrates(%)of rapeseed by 57.1%,11.1%and 15.7%,respec-tively compared to *** a result,the use of hydrogel polymer will be a viable and practical solution for increasing agricultural output under water deﬁcit stress situations.

Microsoft Excel is essential for the End-User Approach (EUA), offering versatility in data organization, analysis, and visualization, as well as widespread accessibility. It fosters collaboration and informed decision-making across diverse domains. Conversely, Python is indispensable for professional programming due to its versatility, readability, extensive libraries, and robust community support. It enables efficient development, advanced data analysis, data mining, and automation, catering to diverse industries and applications. However, one primary issue when using Microsoft Excel with Python libraries is compatibility and interoperability. While Excel is a widely used tool for data storage and analysis, it may not seamlessly integrate with Python libraries, leading to challenges in reading and writing data, especially in complex or large datasets. Additionally, manipulating Excel files with Python may not always preserve formatting or formulas accurately, potentially affecting data integrity. Moreover, dependency on Excel’s graphical user interface (GUI) for automation can limit scalability and reproducibility compared to Python’s scripting capabilities. This paper covers the integration solution of empowering non-programmers to leverage Python’s capabilities within the familiar Excel environment. This enables users to perform advanced data analysis and automation tasks without requiring extensive programming knowledge. Based on Soliciting feedback from non-programmers who have tested the integration solution, the case study shows how the solution evaluates the ease of implementation, performance, and compatibility of Python with Excel versions.

End-user computing empowers non-developers to manage data and applications, enhancing collaboration and efficiency. Spreadsheets, a prime example of end-user programming environments widely used in business for data analysis. However, Excel functionalities have limits compared to dedicated programming languages. This paper addresses this gap by proposing a prototype for integrating Python’s capabilities into Excel through on-premises desktop to build custom spreadsheet functions with Python. This approach overcomes potential latency issues associated with cloud-based solutions. This prototype utilizes Excel-DNA and IronPython. Excel-DNA allows creating custom Python functions that seamlessly integrate with Excel’s calculation engine. IronPython enables the execution of these Python (CSFs) directly within Excel. C# and VSTO add-ins form the core components, facilitating communication between Python and Excel. This approach empowers users with a potentially open-ended set of Python (CSFs) for tasks like mathematical calculations, statistical analysis, and even predictive modeling, all within the familiar Excel interface. This prototype demonstrates smooth integration, allowing users to call Python (CSFs) just like standard Excel functions. This research contributes to enhancing spreadsheet capabilities for end-user programmers by leveraging Python’s power within Excel. Future research could explore expanding data analysis capabilities by expanding the (CSFs) functions for complex calculations, statistical analysis, data manipulation, and even external library integration. The possibility of integrating machine learning models through the (CSFs) functions within the familiar Excel environment.

The identification and classification of collective people’s activities are gaining momentum as significant themes in machine learning,with many potential applications *** need for representation of collective human behavior is especially crucial in applications such as assessing security conditions and preventing crowd *** paper investigates the capability of deep neural network(DNN)algorithms to achieve our carefully engineered pipeline for crowd *** includes three principal stages that cover crowd analysis ***,individual’s detection is represented using the You Only Look Once(YOLO)model for human detection and Kalman filter for multiple human tracking;Second,the density map and crowd counting of a certain location are generated using bounding boxes from a human detector;and Finally,in order to classify normal or abnormal crowds,individual activities are identified with pose *** proposed system successfully achieves designing an effective collective representation of the crowd given the individuals in addition to introducing a significant change of crowd in terms of activities *** results onMOT20 and SDHA datasets demonstrate that the proposed system is robust and *** framework achieves an improved performance of recognition and detection peoplewith a mean average precision of 99.0%,a real-time speed of 0.6ms non-maximumsuppression(NMS)per image for the SDHAdataset,and 95.3%mean average precision for MOT20 with 1.5ms NMS per image.

Concentrating solar power technology is one of the most promising alternative energy *** recent past,Linear Fresnel Reflector systems have received great attention and novel designs have been proposed keeping in view the objective to enhance its functionality and *** achieving the same objective,this study presents a novel concept where a conventional LFR is enclosed in a greenhouse called *** was expected that such an enclosure can:(1)increase the incoming solar radiation,(2)further improve the overall efficiency due to simplified cleaning process and(3)reduce the capital cost for the construction of LFR support system.A complete thermal and optical analysis was presented for modeling and performance evaluation of the solar field of both conventional-LFR and novel *** of non-linear equations for each system were solved using Newton-Raphson *** detailed optical analysis was further performed for conventional-LFR considering the seasonal *** results concluded that the greenhouse-LFR is better than the conventional-LFR as it had higher efficiency and useful heat with lesser heat *** greenhouse-LFR,the maximum thermal efficiency was 73.2%whereas for conventional-LFR it was 37.2%.Also,there was an average increase of useful heat by 3 times in the month of February and 4.7 times in the month of ***^(TM) analysis indicated significant spillage loss when a conventional-LFR was used without a secondary reflector or slight curvature of the mirrors.

Changes of MicroRNA-377 in Diabetic Nephropathy

Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in modulating gene expression. In cultured mesangial cells, MiR-377 exhibited the greatest change on exposure to high glucose and led to increased fibronectin production in in-vitro diabetic nephropathy. Our aim was to identify the pattern of microRNA-377 changes in human diabetic patients with different stages of diabetic nephropathy. Methods: The study included 45 patients divided into 5 groups;patients with stage 1 & 2 diabetic nephropathy (DN), stage 3 & 4 DN, diabetics without DN, stage 1 & 2 chronic kidney disease (CKD), and stage 3 & 4 CKD. The following tests were done to all patients;serum creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), albumin to creatinine ratio, blood sugar, urine analysis, glycated hemoglobin, fundus examination. The RNA was extracted from plasma samples, TaqMan microRNA (miRNA) assays from applied Bio systems were used for analysis of MicroRNA-377. Results: This study found that patients with the highest median of the interquartile range (IQR) of miR-377 were those of group 1 with significant difference between them and all other groups. MiR-377 was significantly correlated with glycated hemoglobin but not with eGFR. Conclusion: Plasma miR-377 is highly significantly increased in human diabetic patients with early rather than late diabetic nephropathy, diabetics without nephropathy, or those at any stage of other causes of CKD. Our findings confirm the role of miR-377 as a potentially novel target in the development of diabetic nephropathy in humans.
