Enhanced corrosion resistance of phytic acid coated magnesium by stearic acid treatment

A green chemical conversion coating for magnesium was obtained with a phytic acid solution. The microstructure and corrosion properties of phytic acid conversion coated magnesium were further improved by soak.ng in stearic acid solution. The phytic acid conversion coated magnesium after soak.ng in the stearic acid showed no micro-crack. and the surface became very smooth. The corrosion behavior of the uncoated and coated magnesium samples was studied by electrochemical methods. The corrosion resistance of the stearic acid treated sample was much higher than that of phytic acid conversion coated magnesium or uncoated magnesium. The electrochemical results indicated that the stearic acid treated coating provided effective corrosion protection to the magnesium sample.

Natural-orifice specimen-extraction surgery(NOSES)for colorectal disease is not a new surgical procedure,although its lack.of penetration into common colorectal surgical practice may mak. it a relatively new *** et al.[1]were among the first to report the extraction of a colectomy specimen through the vagina in 1991 and,shortly thereafter,Frank.in et al.[2]published the first report of partial colectomy with naturalorifice specimen extraction(NOSE)via the *** then,there have been several publications on the extraction of both malignant and benign colonic diseases from the caecum to the distal rectum through natural-orifice extraction *** procedures such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy,which was introduced in 1985 and rapidly diffused into the surgical community over a 2-to 3-year period,the dispersion of NOSES has not been equivocal[3].As there are several reasons why some new surgical innovations may be tak.n up more quick.y than others,the adoption curves of new procedures can tak. many ***,the tipping point that describes the onset of the peak.rate of diffusion of the new technology usually occurs after the first 10%–20%of users have adopted it[3].From a global perspective,the adoptions curve for NOSES has not obtained a peak.rate of diffusion and appears to have arrested in the developmental and explorative phase of innovation[3].

Acoustoelectric effect (AE) in a non-degenerate fluorinated single walled carbon nanotube (FSWCNT) semiconductor was carried out using a tractable analytical approach in the hypersound regime , where q is the acoustic wavenumber and is the electron mean-free path. In the presence of an external electric field, a strong nonlinear dependence of the normalized AE current density , on (?is the electron drift velocity and is the speed of sound in the medium) was observed and depends on the acoustic wave frequency, , wavenumber q, temperature T and the electron-phonon interactions parameter, . When , decreases to a resonance minimum and increases again, where the FSWCNT is said to be amplifying the current. Conversely, when , rises to a maximum and starts to decrease, similar to the observed behaviour in negative differential conductivity which is a consequence of Bragg’s reflection at the band edges at T=300k. However, FSWCNT will offer the potential for room temperature application as an acoustic switch or transistor and also as a material for ultrasound current source density imaging (UCSDI) and AE hydrophone devices in biomedical engineering. Moreover, our results prove the feasibility of implementing chip-scale non-reciprocal acoustic devices in an FSWCNT platform through acoustoelectric amplification.

Many studies on the link.between climate variability and infectious diseases are based on biophysical experiments,do not account for socio-economic factors and with little focus on developed *** study examines the effect of climate variability and socioeconomic variables on infectious diseases using data from all 21 Swedish *** static and dynamic modelling framework.,we observe that temperature has a linear negative effect on the number of *** relationship between winter temperature and the number of patients is non-linear and“U”shaped in the static ***,a positive effect of precipitation on the number of patients is found,with modest heterogeneity in the effect of climate variables on the number of patients across disease classifications *** effect of education and number of health personnel explain the number of patients in a similar direction(negative),while population density and immigration drive up reported *** explains this phenomenon *** the dynamic setting,we found significant persistence in the number of infectious and parasitic-diseased patients,with temperature and income observed as the only significant drivers.

Challenges faced by African countries in achieving the goals of sustainable development are similar and trans-boundary. Previous analysis of Africa’s progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has largely beennon-spatial, reducing the ability to find spatial relationships between countries and SDGs to help cooperationand proffer country-specific interventions. This study adopted techniques of exploratory and inferential spatialstatistics to assess the successes of African countries from 2016 to 2020 in achieving the goals of sustainable de-velopment. Also, the study sought to understand how the spatial synergies and trade-offs between SDGs vary percountry and time. The results revealed that spatial hotspots of countries with high SDGs scores were mostly con-fined to northern African countries with significant coldspots within central and eastern Africa and few patchesin western and southern Africa for 2016. In 2020, the number of countries forming hotspots reduced, with Cen-tral African countries as significant cold spots. Five main spatial relationships: positive linear, negative linear,concave, convex and undefined complex, were found among countries and the SDGs. However, these spatialrelationships were fluid as they changed over time and with different levels of influence from 2016 to *** study concludes that generic solutions and policies by development agencies, governments, developmentfinance instiutions and other impact investors will not be enough in achieving the SDGs because of the spatialheterogeneity of the continent. Tailored and country-specific policies based on results of spatial statistics matter.
