Characterization and spatial analysis of coseismic landslides triggered by the Luding Ms 6.8 earthquake in the Xianshuihe fault zone, Southwest China

On September 5, 2022, a magnitude Ms 6.8 earthquake occurred along the Moxi fault in the southern part of the Xianshuihe fault zone located in the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau,resulting in severe damage and substantial economic loss. In this study, we established a coseismic landslide database triggered by Luding Ms 6.8 earthquake, which includes 4794 landslides with a total area of 46.79 km^(2). The coseismic landslides primarily consisted of medium and small-sized landslides, characterized by shallow surface sliding. Some exhibited characteristics of high-position initiation resulted in the obstruction or partial obstruction of rivers, leading to the formation of dammed lakes. Our research found that the coseismic landslides were predominantly observed on slopes ranging from 30° to 50°, occurring at between 1000 m and 2500 m, with slope aspects varying from 90° to 180°. Landslides were also highly developed in granitic bodies that had experienced structural fracturing and strong-tomoderate weathering. Coseismic landslides concentrated within a 6 km range on both sides of the Xianshuihe and Daduhe fault zones. The area and number of coseismic landslides exhibited a negative correlation with the distance to fault lines, road networks, and river systems, as they were influenced by fault activity, road excavation, and river erosion. The coseismic landslides were mainly distributed in the southeastern region of the epicenter, exhibiting relatively concentrated patterns within the IX-degree zones such as Moxi Town, Wandong River basin, Detuo Town to Wanggangping Township. Our research findings provide important data on the coseismic landslides triggered by the Luding Ms 6.8 earthquake and reveal the spatial distribution patterns of these landslides. These findings can serve as important references for risk mitigation, reconstruction planning, and regional earthquake disaster research in the earthquake-affected area.

AIM:To investigate systemic immune-inflammation index(SII),neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR),and plateletto-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)levels in patients with type 2 diabetes at different stages of diabetic retinopathy(DR).METHODS:This retrospective study included 141 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM):45 without diabetic retinopathy(NDR),47 with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR),and 49 with proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR).Complete blood counts were obtained,and NLR,PLR,and SII were *** study analysed the ability of inflammatory markers to predict DR using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)*** relationships between DR stages and SII,PLR,and NLP were assessed using multivariate logistic ***:The average NLR,PLR,and SII were higher in the PDR group than in the NPDR group(P=0.011,0.043,0.009,respectively);higher in the NPDR group than in the NDR group(P<0.001 for all);and higher in the PDR group than in the NDR group(P<0.001 for all).In the ROC curve analysis,the NLR,PLR,and SII were significant predictors of DR(P<0.001 for all).The highest area under the curve(AUC)was for the PLR(0.929 for PLR,0.925 for SII,and 0.821 for NLR).Multivariate regression analysis indicated that NLR,PLR,and SII were statistically significantly positive and independent predictors for the DR stages in patients with DM[odds ratio(OR)=1.122,95%confidence interval(CI):0.200–2.043,P<0.05;OR=0.038,95%CI:0.018–0.058,P<0.05;OR=0.007,95%CI:0.001–0.01,P<0.05,respectively).CONCLUSION:The NLR,PLR,and SII may be used as predictors of DR.

This paper presents a novel sequential inverse optimal control(SIOC)method for discrete-time systems,which calculates the unknown weight vectors of the cost function in real time using the input and output of an optimally controlled discrete-time *** proposed method overcomes the limitations of previous approaches by eliminating the need for the invertible Jacobian *** calculates the possible-solution spaces and their intersections sequentially until the dimension of the intersection space decreases to *** remaining one-dimensional vector of the possible-solution space’s intersection represents the SIOC *** paper presents clear conditions for convergence and addresses the issue of noisy data by clarifying the conditions for the singular values of the matrices that relate to the possible-solution *** effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through simulation results.

Reinforcing effects of polypropylene on energy absorption and fracturing of cement-based tailings backfill under impact loading

The Method of Polynomial Particular Solutions for Solving Nonlinear Poisson-Type Equations

In this paper,the method of polynomial particular solutions is used to solve nonlinear Poisson-type partial differential equations in one,two,and three *** condition number of the coefficient matrix is reduced through the implementation of multiple scale technique,ultimately yielding a stable numerical *** methodological process can be divided into two main parts:first,identifying the corresponding polynomial particular solutions for the linear differential operator terms in the governing equations,and second,employing these polynomial particular solutions as basis function to iteratively solve the remaining nonlinear terms within the governing ***,we investigate the potential improvement in numerical accuracy for equations with singularities in the analytical solution by shifting the computational domain a certain *** experiments are conducted to assess both the accuracy and stability of the proposed method.A comparison of the obtained results with those produced by other numerical methods demonstrates the accuracy,stability,and efficiency of the proposed method in handling nonlinear Poisson-type partial differential equations.
