In today's modern electric vehicles,enhancing the safety-critical cyber-physical system(CPS)'s performance is necessary for the safe maneuverability of the *** a typical CPS,the braking system is crucial for the vehicle design and safe ***,precise state estimation of the brake pressure is desired to perform safe driving with a high degree of *** this paper,a sensorless state estimation technique of the vehicle's brake pressure is developed using a deep-learning approach.A deep neural network(DNN)is structured and trained using deep-learning training techniques,such as,dropout and rectified *** techniques are utilized to obtain more accurate model for brake pressure state estimation *** proposed model is trained using real experimental training data which were collected via conducting real vehicle *** vehicle was attached to a chassis dynamometer while the brake pressure data were collected under random driving *** on these experimental data,the DNN is trained and the performance of the proposed state estimation approach is validated *** results demonstrate high-accuracy brake pressure state estimation with RMSE of 0.048 MPa.

Comparative evaluation of boron distribution from ulexite,colemanite and DOT rods in Scots pine wood

This study evaluated boron diff usion from rods made of raw boron minerals,ulexite and colemanite with low water solubility,in comparison with di-sodium octaborate tetrahydrate(DOT).Scots pine(Pinus sylvestris L.)sapwood and heartwood blocks were conditioned to target moisture contents of 30%,60%,and 90%.The rods were inserted into the blocks through treatment holes and boron diff usion was observed at three assay zones across the blocks after 7,30,60 and 90-day-incubation at room *** glycol was also inserted into the holes to improve boron diff *** levels increased with increased wood moisture *** some exceptions,boron in the assay zones did not tend to follow consistent amount gradients with distance from the treatment *** levels from ulexite rods were higher than those from colemanite rods,with DOT rods with the highest diff usion rates as a result of higher water solubility of DOT than ulexite and *** results suggest that ulexite-based rods may be useful inthe presence of ethylene glycol in sapwood when wood is at high moisture content for extended periods.

Discourse of Identity Among the Tatars in Dobrogea

Considering that an ethnic group becomes visible through culture, our study highlights some major themes of Tatar identity discourse in Dobrogea, with reference to cultural life and educational institutions. During the inter-war period, this ethnic community started the process of self-configuration and we intend to emphasize the role of education and culture for identity shaping. This paper will present cultural politics in Dobrogea, especially the role of the Muslim Seminary in Babadag/Medgidia in preserving the religion, language, and the cultural heritage of the Tatar community in Romania.

Measurement of choroidal thickness and macular thickness during and after pregnancy

AIM: To investigate the effect of pregnancy on subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT) and macular thickness in both pregnant and not pregnant healthy ***: Twenty-nine healthy pregnant women in their third trimester and 36 age-matched healthy women were enrolled in a prospective, cross-sectional *** and parafoveal thickness in the four quadrants and SFCT were measured by optical coherence tomography(OCT) in the healthy pregnant women(*** group) and healthy women(i.e. control group).OCT measurements were again measured 3mo after delivery in the study ***: Mean SFCT measurements in the control group, pregnant women of the study group, and after delivery of the study group were 320.86 ±59.18 μm,387.97 ±59.91 μm, and 332.40 ±26.03 μm, *** was a statistically significant difference in the mean SFCT values between pregnant women of the study group and the control group(P =0.000). Foveal and parafoveal thickness values were not statistically significant in either the study or control ***: SFCT increases during pregnancy and returns to normal range in the three months after delivery. Macular thickness does not show any change during pregnancy.

Comparison of lag screws and double Y-shaped miniplates in the fixation of anterior mandibular fractures

BACKGROUNDMandibular fractures constitute about 80.79% of maxillofacial injuries inAlexandria University, either as isolated mandibular fractures or as a part ofpanfacial fractures. The combination of symphyseal and parasymphyseal fracturesrepresent 47.09% of the total mandibular *** compare the effectiveness of lag screws vs double Y-shaped miniplates in thefixation of anterior mandibular *** study is a prospective randomized controlled clinical trial, performed onsixteen patients with anterior mandibular fractures. Patients were divided equallyinto two groups, each consisting of eight patients. Group 1: Underwent openreduction and internal fixation using two lag screws. Group 2: Underwent openreduction and internal fixation using double Y-shaped plates. The followingparameters were assessed: operating time in minutes, pain using a visual analogscale, edema, surgical wound healing for signs and symptoms of infection,occlusion status and stability, maximal mouth opening, and sensory nervefunction. Cone beam computed tomography was performed at 3 and 6 mo tomeasure bone density and assess the progression of fracture *** study included 13 males (81.3%) and 3 females (18.8%) aged 26 to 45 years(mean age was 35.69 ± 6.01 years). The cause of trauma was road traffic accidentsin 10 patients (62.5%), interpersonal violence in 3 patients (18.8%) and othercauses in 3 patients (18.8%). The fractures comprised 10 parasymphyseal fractures(62.5%) and 6 symphyseal fractures (37.5%). The values of all parameters were comparable in both groups with no statistically significant difference except forthe mean bone density at 3 mo postoperatively which was 946.38 ± 66.29 in group 1 and 830.36 ± 95.53 in group 2 (P = 0.015).CONCLUSIONBoth lag screws and double Y-shaped miniplates provide favorable means offixation for mandibular fractures in the anterior region. Determination of mercury and nickel by amperometric biosensor prepared with thermostable lactate dehydrogenase

Cardiac imaging of prosthetic valve dysfunction by transesophageal echocardiography

Surgical implantation of a mechanical or biological prosthetic heart valve (PHV) with original structure and hemodynamics is conventional treatment of valvular heart disease. All kinds of prosthetic valves are stenotic comparing with native valves. They should be imagined by being aware of their specific properties. PHV diseases (PHVD) describes situations like obstruction, thromboembolism and regurgitation which also have characteristic images. Determining the cause and severity of PHVD is mandatory for selection of treatment method. Knowledge about PHVD and correct usage of cardiac imaging methods facilitate diagnosis. Most helpful diagnostic test for PHVD is transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). The aim of this review is to describe TEE in PHVD, TEE imaging characteristics of some special PHVD and clinical guidance of TEE in PHV problems.

The chemical composition of PM_(2.5) at two sites in Lebanon,a country in the East Mediterranean-Middle East region,is investigated in the spring and summer *** average PM_(2.5) concentrations were of(29±16)μg/m 3 for Beirut urban site and(32±14)μg/m 3 for Beirut suburban *** study showed that the geographic location of the East Mediterranean region,such as its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and the dust storm intrusion are a significant contributor to the high PM levels from natural sources,which cannot be mitigated,rendering the PM_(2.5) WHO annual Air Quality guideline unattainable due to high natural background,which also applies to the entire Middle East *** and Eastern Europe are the dominant origin of air masses throughout our sampling days,suggesting the long-range transport as an important potential contributor to the high observed concentrations of V,Ni,and sulfate in this region most probably in other East Mediterranean countries than Lebanon *** local sources determined through the chemical speciation including organics are road transport,resuspension of dust and diesel private generators.A health risk assessment of airborne metals was performed and the carcinogenic risk for all the metals exceeded by 42(adults)and 14(children)times the acceptable risk level(10^(-6))at both *** was the predominant carcinogenic metal,emphasizing the need to replace energy production with cleaner energy on a regional level and highlighting the severe impact of air pollution on the health of inhabitants in this region’s main cities.

Effects of different priming treatments and priming durations on germination percentage of parsley (Petroselinum crispum L.) seeds

The effects of different priming treatments and priming durations on germination percentage at different temperatures in parsley seeds were studied. The seeds were treated for 2, 4, 6 and 8 days with the PEG 6000 (–0.5 MPa, –1.0 MPa and –1.5 MPa), KNO3 (0.30 mol/L and 0.35 mol/L), Mannitol (0.50 mol/L and 0.60 mol/L) and hydropriming (12h, 24h, 36h and 48h) and unprimed (control). Germination studies were made at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25°C. Percentage of germination at different temperatures was significantly affected by priming treatments. Hydropriming (12h, 24h and 36 h) and mannitol 0.60 mol/L at 2 day generally had the highest germination percentages. In general, the highest germination percentage with priming was determined at 10°C. It may be said that seed priming treatments increased seed germination percentage at both low and high temperatures. The highest germination percentages were observed in both hydropriming and mannitol treatments as compared with PEG and KNO3 treatments. The PEG and KNO3 (2 and 4 days) treatments were better than unprimed treatment in all of the temperatures.
