Hanjeli(Coix lacryma-jobi L.)and moringa leaf(Moringa oleifera)remain underutilised despite their high nutritional value for *** the present research,cookies made from hanjeli(Coix lacryma-jobi L.)with moringa leaf flour(Moringa oleifera)have been *** cookies were measured for nutritional composition and shelf life *** shelf life evaluation of hanjeli-moringa cookies was calculated using two approaches,which were accelerated shelf life testing(ASLT)methods with critical moisture content and the Arrhenius *** results of the nutritional composition analysis showed that hanjeli-moringa cookies contain protein(9.14%),fat(24.67%),carbohydrates(61.62%),crude fibre(4.85%),and energy(505.01 Kcal).Using the Arrhenius method,the shelf life of hanjeli-moringa cookies was 95.46 days at room temperature and 97.63 days at 20℃.Meanwhile,the shelf life of cookies using the critical moisture content approach was 170.57 *** life is influenced by initial moisture content,critical water content of the product,packaging surface area and permeability,saturated vapour pressure,and slope sorption isotherm *** formulated cookies have significant amounts of nutrients that are acceptable and safe for consumption,with guaranteed desirable sensory *** result of this study shows that hanjeli-moringa cookies can be used as an alternative food for people who need high energy in a practical way of serving or ready to eat.

Disparities in Pain Management in the Emergency Department: An Integrative Review

Purpose: The purpose of this integrative review is to investigate the degree of variability in the prescribing approaches to acute pain management in the emergency department (ED) setting. Variations in analgesic prescribing among ethnic and racial minorities as they compare to non-minority patients with similar complaints of pain will be examined. Data Sources: A comprehensive review of the literature was conducted using MEDLINE, PubMed, and CINAHL databases. Inclusion criteria of the studies were: US studies;published between 2002 and 2012;English language;with at least one aim or analysis comparing prescription of analgesia between a racial or ethnic minority and non-minority group in the ED. Key words used to obtain relevant articles included pain management;analgesia prescription;minority;race;ethnicity;emergency department;disparities. Conclusion: A research summary concluded that racial and ethnic disparities in pain management continue to exist in the ED setting. When compared to Caucasian patients, African American and non-white ethnicities were less likely to receive analgesia. Language barriers, experience of providers, and trust were among the contributors to pain management disparities. Implications for Practice: The role of the nurse is to incorporate cultural competence in assessing and achieving equitable pain management across all racial/ethnic groups.

Motivational and cognitive aspects of spontaneous tool-use acquisition in species that do not do so habitually, remain an open but most relevant question. To address this, we studied captive kea (Nestor notabilis), New Zealand mountain parrots renowned for their playful cleverness. The majority of adolescent, but not the adult kea, showed a toddler-like motivation to insert objects into empty tubes and also spontaneously used objects in order to eject food from inside a tube. This parallel what is known from object exploration in large brained mammals and shows for the first time in a habitually non-tool using bird that such a technical innovation is based on object-combining acquired outside the foraging context.

Northern peatlands store nearly one-third of terrestrial carbon(C)stocks while covering only 3%of the global landmass;nevertheless,the drivers of C cycling in these often-waterlogged ecosystems are different from those that control C dynamics in upland forested *** explore how multiple abiotic and biotic characteristics of bogs interact to shape microbial activity in a northern,forested bog,we added a labile C tracer(13C-labeled starch)to in situ peat mesocosms and correlated heterotrophic respiration with natural variation in several microbial predictor variables,such as enzyme activity and microbial biomass,as well as with a suite of abiotic variables and proximity to vascular plants *** found that peat moisture content was positively correlated with respiration and microbial activity,even when moisture levels exceeded total saturation,suggesting that access to organic matter substrates in drier environments may be limiting for microbial *** to black spruce trees decreased total and labile heterotrophic *** negative relationship may reflect the influence of tree evapotranspiration and peat shading effects;i.e.,microbial activity may decline as peat dries and cools near ***,we isolated the response of heterotrophic respiration to explore the variation in,and interactions among,multiple abiotic and biotic drivers that influence microbial *** approach allowed us to reveal the relative influence of individual drivers on C respiration in these globally important C sinks.

Vulvodynia Treated with Acupuncture or Electromyographic Biofeedback

First, second, and third line medical treatments of vulvodynia are of limited efficacy. Surgical resection, the fourth line treatment of vulvodynia, may have unforgiving sequela. Therefore, acupuncture and electromyographic (EMG) biofeedback could bridge between medical and surgical treatments of vulvodynia. Of note, EMG biofeedback is more frequently recommended in treatment algorithms for vulvodynia than is acupuncture. Trials of acupuncture for unprovoked vulvodynia demonstrate variable efficacy, whereas trials of EMG biofeedback for provoked vulvodynia demonstrate consistent efficacy. Trials of acupuncture for treatment of provoked and unprovoked vulvodynia using identical acupoints, a vulvar algesiometer for objective pain measurement, and standardized, validated, tools for outcome assessment are needed. Such trials may enable comparison of acupuncture to EMG biofeedback for the treatment of provoked and unprovoked vulvodynia. Similarly, trials of EMG biofeedback for treatment of unprovoked vulvodynia would increase the knowledge base of EMG biofeedback for treatment of vulvodynia.

在水体中发现大型底栖动物入侵种是一种世界范围普遍的现象。人类移动的同时将物品从一个大陆带到另一个大陆,这使许多水生动物物种能够突破自然的防线侵入到其他的区域和大陆。藉由人类现代的旅行方式,在不同区域间移动的物种数量显著增加,成功入侵种的数量也随之增多。成功入侵种需要具备一些特征,如可动性,小体型,适应性强和繁殖率高等,这些均有利于物种跨区域的入侵。当然,新生活环境也必须满足可适应的标准。对一个受人类活动破坏而丧失其原有物种的水环境来说,它对新物种入侵的抵抗力会很弱甚至缺乏。德国水体受人类活动的胁迫非常严重,许多自然水体受到的破坏已无法挽回,有些甚至已经完全成为了人工环境。这些水体由相互连接着的溪流河川网络组成,这很容易使新物种的入侵范围扩大。在外来物种的入侵面前,受人类活动胁迫和直接破坏的水体,比尚保持着天然环境状况的水体更加脆弱。

The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 underlines the importance of Science and Technology(S&T) and S&T networks for effective disaster risk reduction(DRR). The knowledge of existing S&T networks and their exact role in DRR,however, is limited. This opinion piece initiates a discussion on the role of S&T networks in the implementation of the Sendai Framework. The article highlights that current practice is oriented towards a narrative that emphasizes the potential of S&T for DRR and stresses a collaborative approach delivered through networks. But a true understanding of whether and how S&T networks can mobilize and enable S&T for DRR is missing. We call for a review of existing S&T networks for DRR and the development of good practice guidelines on S&T networks for DRR. This review should include knowledge on how to overcome common challenges and maximize the benefits, along with a framework for successful evaluation of such *** knowledge would provide much needed guidance for existing and emerging networks.

Dear Editor,oll-like receptor 4(TLR4)is a key receptor sensing bacterial lipopolysaccharide(LPS),and is the most investigated member of the Tol-like receptor family(Kawai and Akira,2007;Kayagaki et al,2013;Klein et al.,2015).Cell surface TLR4 expression is determined by the balance between receptor trafficking from the Golgi apparatus to the cell membrane,and internalization of the cell surface receptor into endosomal compartments(Saltoh,2009).In bone mar-row-derived macrophages(BMDM),we observed LPS-in-duced EGFR phosphorylation on the surface of BMDM,and this was inhibited by pretreatment with PD168393 or TAPI-1(Fig.S1).Next,we measured dynamic changes in cell sur-face TLR4 expression after LPS ***6,12,and 24 h after LPS treatment,TLR4 expression on the surface of BMDM was increased^2-,~6-,and^9-fold,respectively,as compared with controls.

CARE: Cloud Archival Repository Express via Algorithmic Machine Learning

CARE—Cloud Archive Repository Express has emerged from algorithmic machine learning, and acts like a “fastlane” to bridge between DATA and wiseCIO where DATA stands for digital archiving & trans-analytics, and wiseCIO for web-based intelligent service. CARE incorporates DATA and wiseCIO into a triad for content management and delivery (CMD) to orchestrate Anything as a Service (XaaS) by using mathematical and computational solutions to cloud-based problems. This article presents algorithmic machine learning in CARE for “DNA-like” ingredients with trivial information eliminated through deep learning to support integral content management over DATA and informative delivery on wiseCIO. In particular with algorithmic machine learning, CARE creatively incorporates express tokens for information interchange (eTokin) to promote seamless intercommunications among the CMD triad that enables Anything as a Service and empowers ordinary users to be UNIQ professionals: such as ubiquitous manager on content management and delivery, novel designer on universal interface and user-centric experience, intelligent expert for business intelligence, and quinary liaison with XaaS without explicitly coding required. Furthermore, CMD triad harnesses rapid prototyping for user interface design and propels cohesive assembly from Anything orchestrated as a Service. More importantly, CARE collaboratively as a whole promotes instant publishing over DATA, efficient presentation to end-users via wiseCIO, and diligent intelligence for business, education, and entertainment (iBEE) through highly robotic process automation.
