This study has been conducted with the purpose of determining energy use efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions of garlic cultivation during the 2020-2021 cultivation season in Adıyaman province of ***,observations and field works were performed in 134 garlic farms in the region through simple random *** garlic cultivation,energy input was calculated as 32103.20 MJ/hm^(2)and energy output was calculated as 30096 MJ/hm^(2).With regards to the three highest inputs in garlic production,46.66%of the energy inputs consisted of chemical fertilizers energy(14979.26 MJ/hm^(2)),11.29%consisted of farmyard manure energy(3625.71 MJ/hm^(2))and 10.48%consisted of human labour energy(3363.36 MJ/hm^(2)).Energy use efficiency,specific energy,energy productivity and net energy in garlic cultivation were calculated as 0.94,1.71 MJ/kg,0.59 kg/MJ,and−2007.20 MJ/hm^(2),*** total energy input consumed in garlic cultivation was classified as 27.19%direct energy,72.81%indirect energy,35.17%renewable energy and 64.87%nonrenewable *** GHG emissions and GHG ratio were calculated as 8636.60 kg CO_(2)-eq/hm^(2)and 0.46 kg CO_(2)-eq/kg,respectively.

Background Digoxin remains widely used today despite its narrow therapeutic index and toxicity. The objective of this study was to investigate the percentage of inappropriate use of digoxin and long-term outcomes of elderly patients hospitalized for digoxin toxicity. Methods The study included 99 consecutive patients hospitalized for digoxin toxicity. The other study criteria for the inappropriate use of digoxin was regarded if participants having depressed left ventricular systolic function （ejection fraction 〈 45%） who were not on optimal medical therapy including beta-blocker and angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitor therapy or if participants having permanent AF who were not on optimal beta-blocker therapy. Results Appropriate digoxin usage was confirmed in 33 of patients in spite of its narrow therapeutic index. A total of 16 of 99 patients died, with a mean follow-up time of 22.1 ± 10.3 months. Conclusions Contrary to popular belief, the rate of inappropriate digoxin usage remains high. On account of its narrow therapeutic index and toxicity, digoxin should be used more carefully according to the current evidence and guidelines.

Traffic safety and performance measures such as crash risk and queue lengths or travel times are influenced by several important factors including those related to environment,human,and roadway design,especially at *** research has studied different aspects related to these factors,yet these characteristics are not fully investigated with a focus on age and experience of *** this paper,we investigate this issue by using a two-phase approach via a case study application on a critical T-intersection in the City of Tallahassee,*** first phase includes a scenario-based microsimulation analysis through the use of a microscopic simulation software,namely VISSIM,to illustrate the variations in traffic performance measures with respect to driver compositions of different age groups in the traffic stream.A variety of scenarios is created where the driving characteristics are provided as inputs to these scenarios in terms of decision making and risk *** is also supported by a sensitivity analysis conducted based on the driver composition in the *** second phase includes the analysis of microsimulation outputs via a tool developed by Federal Highway Administration tool,namely the Surrogate Safety Assessment Model(SSAM),in order to determine the traffic conflicts that occur in each *** conflicts are also compared with real-life crash data for validation *** show that(a) the differences in risk perception that affect driving behavior might be significant in influencing traffic safety and performance measures,and(b) the proposed approach is considerably successful in simulating the actual crash conflict points.

Advances in software and hardware technologies have facilitated the production of quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs).Nowadays,people actively use quadrotor UAVs in essential missions such as search and rescue,counter-terrorism,firefighting,surveillance,and cargo *** performing these tasks,quadrotors must operate in noisy ***,a robust controller design that can control the altitude and attitude of the quadrotor in noisy environments is of great *** researchers have focused only on white Gaussian noise in their studies,whereas researchers need to consider the effects of all colored noises during the operation of the *** study aims to design a robust controller that is resistant to all colored ***,a nonlinear quadrotormodel was created with ***,a backstepping controller resistant to colored noises was *** backstepping controller was tested under Gaussian white,pink,brown,blue,and purple *** and Lyapunov-based controller designswere also carried out,and their time responses(rise time,overshoot,settling time)were compared with those of the backstepping *** the simulations,time was in seconds,altitude was in meters,and roll,pitch,and yaw references were in *** and settling time values were in seconds,and overshoot value was in *** the obtained values are examined,simulations prove that the proposed backstepping controller has the least overshoot and the shortest settling time under all noise types.

AIM: To evaluate postoperative visual acuity and contrast sensitivity results following deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) and penetrating keratoplasty (PK) in patients with keratoconus (KC). METHODS: All the patients’ records with KC who had PK or DALK surgery between May 2010 and May 2011 were retrospectively reviewed. Sixty patients who underwent successful corneal transplantation for KC: 30 eyes underwent DALK and 30 eyes underwent PK were included in this study. Preoperative and postoperative mean logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution (logMAR) uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), logMAR best spectacle-corrected visual acuity (BSCVA) and intraocular pressure (IOP) were evaluated. Contrast sensitivity tests (CS) were done preoperative and 2 months after all sutures had removed. All surgeries were performed under regional anesthesia (retrobulbar anesthesia) by 1 surgeon (B.K.) who was experienced in penetrating and lamellar keratoplasty techniques. RESULTS: The mean age of the DALK group was 29.67±4.95 (range 18-40) years and the PK group was 28.7±3.53 (range 18-39) years. Preoperatively there was no significant difference in the logMAR UCVA, logMAR BSCVA and IOP between the DALK (1.281±0.56; 0.97±0.85; 12.07±2.12mmHg) and PK (1.34±0.21; 0.98±0.21; 13±2.12mmHg) groups. One-year after surgery there was no significant difference in the mean logMAR UCVA and IOP between the DALK (0.46±0.37; 11.73±2.1mmHg) and PK (0.38±0.21; 12±2.12mmHg) groups. The mean contrast sensitivity was evaluated by CC-100 Topcon LCD at 1.5, 2.52, 4.23, 7.10 and 11.91 cycles per degree (cs/deg) spatial frequencies before and 2 months after the all sutures had removed. CONCLUSION: All patients with keratoconus in both DALK and PK groups performed good visual function postoperatively. The mean contrast sensitivity increased considerably at all spatial frequencies compared with preoperative levels in the DALK and PK groups. 以安纳托利亚东南部的天然沥青岩为原料制备泡沫炭。所制泡沫炭的平均孔径和密度分别为150μm和800 kg/m3。主要研究了压力、温度、泄压时间及在最高温度时的停留时间对泡沫形成的影响,同时还评价了炭化过程对泡沫结构的影响。主要研究了压力、温度、泄压时间及在最高温度时的停留时间对泡沫炭进行了表征,并进行了密度及抗压强度分析。结果表明,1 323 K炭化后,泡沫炭压缩强度由10 MPa增加到18.7 MPa。沥青的灰分含量(41.76%)对泡沫炭的密度和压缩强度起重要作用。

Fuzzy rule based seismic risk assessment of one-story precast industrial buildings

Effi cient tools capable of using uncertain data to produce fast and approximate results are more practical in rapid decision-making applications when compared to conventional methods. From this point of view, this study introduces a risk assessment model for one-story precast industrial buildings by fuzzy logic which builds a bridge between uncertainty and precision. The input, output and relations of the fuzzy based risk assessment model (FBRAM) were determined by reference buildings. The Monte Carlo simulation method was used to handle uncertainties associated with the structural characteristics of the reference buildings. Section dimension, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, column height related to building elevation, confi nement ratio and seismic hazard are regarded as input and the plastic demand ratio is considered as the output parameter by the mathematical formulation of strength and deformation capacity of the buildings. The supervised learning method was used to determine the membership function of fuzzy sets. Fuzzy rules of FBRAM were constructed from Monte Carlo simulation by mapping of inputs and output. FBRAM was evaluated by a group of simulated buildings and two existing precast industrial buildings. Comparisons have shown signifi cant agreement with analytical model results in both cases. Consequently, it is anticipated that the proposed model can be used for the seismic risk mitigation of precast buildings.

Engineering design in soft rocks and its stability analysis exerts many challenges to rock engineers. Many engineering works in Turkey’s Cappadocia region must face and tackle the existing sites covered by the soft rocks. This study is aimed to examine the stability condition of a typical underground storage cavern(USC) excavated in a soft rock in this region. For this purpose, two-and threedimensional stability analyses of the USCs were performed using the finite element method(FEM).Because of the inherent difficulty in characterizing soft/weak rock masses in the region using traditional classification systems, the stability of a typical USC was evaluated by representing the rock mass condition with two distinct scenarios in FEM *** these structures were unstable according to the 2D analysis conducted in RS2 software in the worstcase scenario, they were stable in the 3D analysis using RS3 software in both scenarios. Besides,feasible cover depths were examined to assess their possible effects on the factor of safety and deformation measurements. It was found that 15 m seems to be an optimal depth for excavating a typical USC in the soft rocks exposed in the region. The 3D FEM results provide valuable information to optimize the future planning and preliminary design of USCs.
