This study aimed to investigate the site characterization of the Senirkent Basin(Isparta)by using the microtremor(H/V)and surface wave analysis(ReMi)*** district,which is located on the foothill of the Kap?Mountain,are prone to seismic and landslide *** the last landslip disaster(1995),the city has continued to develop on the alluvial *** microtremor data collected at 41 stations were *** predominant frequency and the amplification of the soil were found to be in the range of 1.8–6.6 Hz and 0.8–6.8,*** are 4.0-6.8 Hz and 1-2.5 around the slope of the Kap?Mountain and 0.8-3.6 Hz and 3.0-6.6 at alluvium deposits of the *** ReMi data collected along 41 profiles were analyzed to obtain a Vs30 *** soil classifications were done by using Vs30 values according to NEHRP soil classification *** results showed that the southern area of the study had better soil conditions with Vs30 between 360-1160 m/s and soil class between C and *** alluvium deposits on the north are relatively low with Vs30 in the range of 260-360 m/s and soil class D.

New Wave Solutions of Time-Fractional Coupled Boussinesq–Whitham–Broer–Kaup Equation as A Model of Water Waves

The main purpose of this paper is to obtain the wave solutions of conformable time fractional Boussinesq–Whitham–Broer–Kaup equation arising as a model of shallow water waves. For this aim, the authors employed auxiliary equation method which is based on a nonlinear ordinary differential equation. By using conformable wave transform and chain rule, a nonlinear fractional partial differential equation is converted to a nonlinear ordinary differential equation. This is a significant impact because neither Caputo definition nor Riemann–Liouville definition satisfies the chain rule. While the exact solutions of the fractional partial derivatives cannot be obtained due to the existing drawbacks of Caputo or Riemann–Liouville definitions, the reliable solutions can be achieved for the equations defined by conformable fractional derivatives.

Emergency admissions due to swallowed foreign bodies in adults

AIM:To study a retrospective analysis of patients who presented to the emergency departments(ED)with complaints related to foreign body ***:Patients older than 16 years of age who presented to the ED between January 1stand December 31stof 2010 with complaints related to swallowed foreign bodies were identified from electronic health records and patient ***:A total of 100 patients presented with a complaint of foreign body ingestion during the study ***,an X-ray was performed on 75 patients,and a fiberoptic evaluation was performed on45 patients.A foreign body was detected in 46(46%)*** diagnostic yield of the X-ray was 27(36%)out of 75 patients,while the diagnostic yield of the fiberoptic evaluations was 21(47%)out of 45 *** detected foreign bodies were mostly located in the esophagus(17 out of 46 foreign bodies detected).When the types of ingested foreign bodies were evaluated,52(52%)patients reported ingesting food,and19(19%)patients reported swallowing *** X-ray was performed on 33 patients with accidental food ingestions but yielded a positive result in only two *** 12 out of 21 patients with accidental food ingestion who underwent fiberoptic evaluation,the foreign material was detected and ***:Plain radiography is helpful in the localization of radiopaque swollen foreign bodies,while fiberoptic methods are useful as both diagnostic and therapeutic tools,regardless of radiopacity.

Prediction of mine drainage generation potential and the prevention method of the groundwater pollution in the Gümüskoy(Kütahya)mineralization area,NW Turkey

One of the leading factors of seepage contamination is mine drainage,which creates serious ecological risks on the environment both during operation and post-mining *** this study,experimental processes have been carried out to determine the occurrence of mine drainage in the Gümüskoy(Kütahya)mineralization area(Northwest Turkey).The prevention method for potential mine drainage occurrence has been also *** enrichment was observed which are directly related to mineralization in trace element concentrations,especially in potentially toxic metals such as Ag,Cd,Mo,Ba,Bi,and *** on short-term tests,mine drainage formation has not been expected according to the p H(7.36-9.38),contact leaching,and acid-base accounting ***,in the long-term,acid generation potential has been expected because of weathering and oxidation in terms of rock type and mineralization in the ***,in order to prevent groundwater contamination in the event of a possible formation of mine drainage,the hydraulic conductivity of the stock area bedrock was evaluated by the in situ tests performed in the field and it was found to be moderately permeable(K=1.9×10^-6 m/s).In order to make the stock area bedrock impermeable,natural clay will be laid and compressed at the base of the stock *** the finite elements were modeled by seepage analysis,the seepage discharge to be formed on the base rock at a depth of 5 m was determined as 3.17×10^-19 m^3/*** the discharge value determined in the seepage analysis after modeling is very close to zero,contamination of possible ground and surface water will be prevented.

A mathematical model for open pit mine production scheduling with Grade Engineering and stockpiling

This paper presents the development and implementation of an innovative mixed integer programming based mathematical model for an open pit mining operation with Grade Engineering *** Engineering comprises a range of coarse-separation based pre-processing techniques that separate the desirable(***-grade)and undesirable(***-grade or uneconomic)materials and ensure the delivery of only selected quantity of high quality(or high-grade)material to energy,water,and cost-intensive processing *** model maximizes the net present value under a range of operational and processing *** that the proposed model is computationally complex,the authors employ a data preprocessing procedure and then evaluate the performance of the model at several practical instances using computation time,optimality gap,and the net present value as valid *** addition,a comparison of the proposed and traditional(without Grade Engineering)models reflects that the proposed model outperforms the traditional formulation.

A rare case: Spontaneous cutaneous fistula of infected splenic hydatid cyst

Hydatid disease is caused by the larval stage of the genus Echinococcus. Live hydatid cysts can rupture into physiologic channels, free body cavities or adjacent organs. Although hydatid disease can develop anywhere in the human body, the liver is the most frequently involved organ, followed by the lungs. Cysts of the spleen are unusual. There are only five case reports of spontaneous cutaneous fistulization of liver hydatid cysts in the literature. But there isn＇t any report about cutaneous fistula caused by splenic hydatid cyst. We report a first case of spontaneous cutaneous fistula of infected splenic hydatid cyst. A 43-year-old man was admitted to our Emergency Service with abdominal pain and fluid drainage from the abdominal wall. He has been suffering from a reddish swelling on the abdominal wall skin for four months. After a white membrane had been protruded out from his abdominal wall, he was admitted to our Emergency Service. On physical examination, a white membrane was seen to protrude out from the 2 crux I cm skin defect on the left superolateral site of the umblicus. Large, complex, cystic and solid mass of 9.5 cm-diameter was located in the spleen on ultrasonographic examination. At operation, partial cystectomy and drainage was performed. After the operation, he was given a dosage of 10 mg/kg per day of albendazole, divided into three doses. He was discharged on the postoperative 10^th d. It should be kept in mind that splenic hydatid cysts can cause such a rare complication.

Alteration of sister chromatid exchange frequencies in gastric cancer and chronic atrophic gastritis patients with and without H pylori infection

AIM: To determine, by counting sister chromatid exchange (SCE) frequencies, whether genetic impairment and DNA damage have an effect on the pathogenesis of gastric cancer (GC). METHODS: Analysis of SCE is a cytogenetic technique used to show DNA damage as a result of an exchange of DNA fragments between sister chromatids. We analyzed SCE frequency in 24 patients with GC, 26 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), and 15 normal controls. The presence of H pylori was confirmed by urease test, toluidine-blue stain and hematoxylin-eosin stain. RESULTS: SCE was significantly increased in H pylori- negative GC patients, and in H pylori-negative CAG patients compared with controls (7.41 ± 1.36 and 6.92 ± 1.20, respectively, vs 5.54 ± 0.8, P 0.05). On other hand, the SCE frequencies in H pylori-positive GC patients were higher than those in H pylori-positive CAG patients (9.20 ± 0.94 vs 7.93 ± 0.81, P < 0.01). Furthermore, H pylori-positive GC patients had a higher SCE frequency than H pylori- negative GC patients (9.20 ± 0.94 vs 7.41 ± 1.36, P < 0.001). Similarly, a significant difference was detected between H pylori-positive CAG patients and H pylori-negative CAG patients (7.93 ± 0.81 vs 6.92 ± 1.20, P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: We suggest the increased SCE in patients reflects a genomic instability that may be operative in gastric carcinogenesis.

This paper studied new class of integral equation called the Korteweg-de Vries-Kadomtsev-Petviashvili(KdV-KP)*** equation consist of the well-known fifth-order KdV equation in the context of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili *** newly gathered class of sixth-order KdV-KP equation is studied using the sub-equation method to obtain several soliton-type solutions which consist of trigonometric,hyperbolic,and rational *** application of the sub-equation approach in this work draws attention to the outstanding characteristics of the suggested method and its ability to handle completely integrable ***,the obtained solutions have not been reported in the previous literature and might have significant impact on future research.

Non-Thermal Atmospheric Plasma:Can it Be Taken as a Common Solution for the Surface Treatment of Dental Materials?

This study aimed to evaluate the surface roughness and wetting properties of various dental prosthetic materials after different durations of non-thermal atmospheric plasma（NTAP）*** hundred and sixty discs of titanium（Ti）（n：40）,cobalt chromium（Co-Cr）（n：40）,yttrium stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals（Y-TZP）（n：40）and polymethylmethacrylate（PMMA）（n：40）materials were machined and smoothed with silicon carbide *** surface roughness was evaluated in a control group and in groups with different plasma exposure times [1-3-5 s].The average surface roughness（Ra）and contact angle（CA）measurements were recorded via an atomic force microscope（AFM）and tensiometer,*** changes were examined with a scanning electron microscope（SEM）.Data were analyzed with two-way analysis of variance（ANOVA）and the Tukey HSD test α=0.05）.According to the results,the NTAP surface treatment significantly affected the roughness and wettability properties（P 〈 0.05）.SEM images reveal that more grooves were present in the NTAP *** an increase in the NTAP application time,an apparent increment was observed for Ra,except in the PMMA group,and a remarkable reduction in CA was observed in all *** is concluded that the NTAP technology could enhance the roughening and wetting performance of various dental materials.
