Purpose Traffic accidents are one of the major health problems in the world,being the first cause of burden of illness and the second leading cause of death in *** Sistan-Baluchestan province is one of the most accidental provinces of Iran with the highest rate of accidents-caused *** study was conducted to determine the risk factors associated with traffic accidents in Zahedan through 2013 to *** This analytical cross-sectional study was carried out on 223 drivers from Zahedan who were traumatized by traffic accident and sent to Zahedan *** data were obtained through interviews taken by the trained interviewers via refereeing to the medical records and collected in the researcher-made *** was obtained from the study *** data analysis,independent t-test,one-way ANOVA,Chi-square and logistic regression were used with the Stata software version *** In this study,223 male subjects with the mean age of(32.54±12.95)years,39.8%single and 60.2%married,entered for *** accidents(38.8%)occurred between 12:00 to 17:*** driving,47.1%of the study subjects were using cell phones,89.1%had manual use of mobile phones,21.9%had a habit of sending short message service(SMS)and 23.4%had sent SMS within 10 min before the *** one way analysis of variance showed that the mean age of individuals with marital status,driving experience,education and accident with motorcycle were significantly different(p<0.05).Also,the multivariate logistic regression test indicated a significant relationship of smoking,ethnicity,insurance and SMS typing while driving with motorcycle accident(p<0.05).Conclusion In this study,SMS and smoking while driving had the highest risk among the variables studied in the motorcycle ***,effective education attempting to enhance people's awareness about the consequences of using cell phone and smoking during driving to reduce traffic accidents seems necessary.

Background： The aim of this study was to design and assess the effects of hydroalcoholic extract of Matricaria chamomill^l （MC） on preantral follicle culture of mouse ovaries in a three-dimensional culture system. Methods： Isolated preantral follicles were randomly divided into three main groups： the control group containing 10% fetal bovine serum without MC extract （G1）, the first experimental group supplemented with 25 ktg/ml hydroalcoholic extract of chamomile （G2）, and the second experimental group supplemented with 50 p,g/ml hydroalcoholic extract of chamomile （G3）. Results： After 12 days of culture, the survival rate （P 〈 0.05）, antrum formation （P 〈 0.01）, metaphase two oocytes （P 〈 0.01）, and the expression ofPCNA （P 〈 0.05） and FSHR （P 〈 0.05） genes significantly decreased in G3 as compared with GI. On the other hand, at the last day of culture （day 12）, the mean diameter of follicles cultured in the medium which was supplemented with 50 lag/ml hydroalcoholic extract of chamomile significantly decreased as compared with the GI （P 〈 0.05）. In addition, the levels of progesterone and dehydroepiandrosterone hormones significantly increased in the medium of G3 relative to G I （P 〈 0.01）, while in the medium of G 1, the level of 17[3-estradiol was significantly higher than that of other groups （P 〈 0.01）. Reactive oxygen species levels of metaphase 11 oocytes were significantly decreased in G2 as compared with G1 （P 〈 0.01）. Conclusion： Adding chamomile extract to culture media appeared to decrease follicular function and development.

Background: Nowadays cardiovascular diseases remain as the single most common cause of death in chronic dialysis patients;the aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of two different regimens of dialysis potassium removal in patients with a tendency to develop arrhythmias during haemodialysis (HD). Methods and Materials: There were 88 (36 men and 52 women) end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients recruited for the study. They received regular haemodialysis three times per week at the haemodialysis units of a university medical centre (Golestan hospital) during year 2011. We compared the arrhythmogenic effects of two dialysis techniques. Results: There was a tendency in the HD solution with constant (3 mEq/l) K for premature ventricular complex (PVC) appearance in to be reduced as compared with constant (2 mEq/l) K in the time of dialysis period, although this reduction was not statistically significant(P = 0.09). There was a significant reduction in SVC in the HD solution with constant (3 mEq/l) K as compared with constant (2 mEq/l) K. Discussion: In conclusion, the use of a model of intra-HD potassium that is more close to potassium serum concentration of ESRD patients can reduce the arrhythmogenic effect of HD in patients on regular HD treatment.

BACKGROUND:Numerous drugs have been proposed to alleviate pain in patients with biliary colic,especially opioids,but still there is a tendency to use less narcotics because of their side effects and the unwillingness of some *** present study aimed to compare the analgesic effect of paracetamol combined with low-dose morphine versus morphine alone in patients with biliary ***:A randomized double-blind controlled trial was performed in 98 patients with biliary colic,recruited from two emergency departments from August 2012 to August *** patients were excluded and the remaining were randomized into two groups:group A received 0.05mg/kg morphine+1 000 mg paracetamol in 100 m L normal saline and group B received 0.1 mg/kg morphine+normal saline(100 m L)as *** scores were recorded using visual analogue scale(VAS)at baseline and 15 and 30 minutes after drug *** effects and the need for rescue medication(0.75 g/kg intravenous fentanyl)were also reported within 60 minutes of drug ***:Before the infusion,the mean±SD VAS scores were 8.73±1.57 in group A and8.53±1.99 in group *** 15 minutes after drug administration,the mean±SD VAS scores were2.16±1.90 in group A vs.2.51±1.86 in group B;mean difference was–0.35,and 95%CI–1.15 to 0.45(P=0.38).At 30 minutes the mean±SD VAS scores were 1.66±1.59 in group A vs.2.14±1.79 in group B;mean difference was–0.48,and 95%CI–1.20 to 0.24(P=0.19).The mean pain scores in the two groups at 15 and 30 minutes demonstrated no significant ***:Paracetamol combined with low-dose morphine may be effective for pain management in patients with biliary colic.

AIM To evaluate the prevalence of salt sensitivity and the impact of cardiometabolic and psychological characteristics on salt sensitivity in normotensive population. METHODS Of all participants,anthropometric measurements and fasting venous blood samples were collected,and study questionnaires were completed. Salt Sensitivity was defined based on the difference in mean arterial pressure with infusion of 2 L of normal saline followed by a low sodium diet and administration of three dosesof oral furosemide the day after. RESULTS Of 131 participants,56(42.7%) were diagnosed with salt sensitivity. Crude and age and sex adjusted regression analysis showed that low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and depression were positively associated with salt sensitivity(OR = 1.02,95%CI: 1.01-1.04 and OR = 1.15,95%CI: 1.00-1.34,respectively). CONCLUSION The high prevalence of salt sensitivity and its significant relation with prevalent risk factors necessitates considering its reduction actions at the population level and the need for further research.

Studies have demonstrated that the presence of nitrate and nitrite in drinking water can cause some disease such as cancer and blu baby in the infant. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has since adopted the 10 mg/L standard as the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for nitrate-nitrogen and 1 mg/L for nitrite-nitrogen for regulated public water systems. Given the importance of nitrate and nitrite in drinking water as well as GIS ability in spatial analysis of various factors in the groundwater, this study aimed to evaluate concentration of nitrate and nitrite in the drinking water wells of Yazd using two IDW (Inverse Distance Weighting) and Kriging models. In this descriptive study, the applied data on the water quality of underground water of Yazd Environmental Health Office and the average annual nitrate and nitrite in 2015 were related to 24 wells in the studied area. The nitrate and nitrite rate in groundwater in wells was compared to the standard amount of Institute of Standard and Industrial Researches and then was analyzed via Arc GIS software using IDW and Kriging interpolation methods. The mean concentration of nitrate was 17.62 ± 3.08 mg/l and for nitrite was 0.011 ± 0.003 mg/l in the wells. In the all studied zone, the nitrate and nitrite rate was in the standard range according to the National Standard of Iran (No. 1053). In this study, Kriging interpolation method was more efficient than IDW method.

In recent years, the hepatotoxic potential of thiopurines, in particular 6-thioguanine (6-TG), has been discussed in literature. However, cirrhosis was exceptionally reported. We report the case of a 56-year-old woman with ileocaecal Crohn’s disease treated with azathioprine. After taking azathioprine (2 mg/kg daily) for four years, she underwent surgical treatment for acute intestinal obstruction. In peroperative, we noticed a cirrhotic liver. A surgical biopsy was performed and the diagnosis of cirrhosis was confirmed. Autoimmune and viral liver diseases were ruled out by laboratory parameters. Therefore, Azathioprine is believed to be the causative factor for inducing liver cirrhosis. Thus, treating inflammatory bowel disease effectively while trying to limit iatrogenic disease is a continuous struggle.

目的:回顾过去1a,德黑兰转诊眼科中心穿通性眼外伤的发病特征,并发症和流行病学。方法:调查2002年伊朗德黑兰Farabi眼科医院的959例眼外伤住院患者的医疗记录,记录信息包括人口统计资料(年龄,性别和所从事职业),受伤原因,伤口类型,最初视力,受损部位,伴随症状和体征以及所采取的治疗方式。结果:患者的平均年龄是(22.6±16.4)a,男性患者的年龄峰值为21～25a,女性患者为小于5a。男女性别比例为4.2∶1。62.4%的患者为穿通伤,33.9%的患者为钝挫伤,3.7%的患者为混合伤或化学烧伤。金属物是造成眼球穿通伤的最常见原因,与之相比,石块是眼钝挫伤最为常见的原因。在23.4%的病例中发现了异物,最常见的破裂部位为角膜(46.7%)。结论:本研究认为,穿通伤较钝挫伤常见,年轻人更易发生眼外伤,角膜是最常见的损伤部位。
