This review aimed to describe the inculpation of microRNAs(miRNAs)in thyroid cancer(TC)and its subtypes,mainly medullary thyroid carcinoma(MTC),and to outline web-based tools and databases for bioinformatics analysis of miRNAs in ***,the capacity of miRNAs to serve as therapeutic targets and biomarkers in TC management will be *** review is based on a literature search of relevant articles on the role of miRNAs in TC and its subtypes,mainly ***,web-based tools and databases for bioinformatics analysis of miRNAs in TC were identified and *** can perform as oncomiRs or antioncoges,relying on the target mRNAs they *** replacement therapy using miRNA mimics or antimiRs that aim to suppress the function of certain miRNAs can be applied to correct miRNAs aberrantly expressed in diseases,particularly in *** are involved in the modulation of fundamental pathways related to cancer,resembling cell cycle checkpoints and DNA repair *** are also rather stable and can reliably be detected in different types of biological materials,rendering them favorable diagnosis and prognosis biomarkers as *** have emerged as promising tools for evaluating medical outcomes in TC and as possible therapeutic *** contribution of miRNAs in thyroid cancer,particularly MTC,is an active area of research,and the utility of web applications and databases for the biological data analysis of miRNAs in TC is becoming increasingly important.

Elevated serum nitric oxide and hydrogen peroxide levels as potential valuable predictors of herpes zoster

Objective:To evaluate the biomarkers of oxidative stress in herpes zoster patients compared with control ***:This study compared the nitric oxide(NO),hydrogen peroxide(H2 O2),malon dialdehyde,uric acid,and bilirubin levels between 43 herpes zoster patients and 47 age-matched control *** area under the curve of the receiver operating characteristic curve was performed to evaluate the final logistic regression ***:The significant differences were observed in the serum levels of NO,H2 O2,and malondialdehyde between the case and the control groups(P<0.001).However,no statistical differences were found in both uricacid and bilirubin levels between the ***,the raised oxidant biomarkers were strongly associated with increased disease severity(P<0.001).Multiple logistic regression analysis with the highest area under the curve[0.98(95%CI 0.95-1.00)]and the minimum number of variables showed that high levels of NO(OR 1.24;95%CI 1.06-1.46;P=0.008)and H2 O2(OR 1.25;95%CI 1.09-1.43;P=0.001)were associated with herpes ***:High levels of NO and H2 O2 were observed in patients with herpes *** NO and H2 O2 levels might be associated with herpes zoster,which needs to be confirmed by further studies.

Effects of different periods of renal ischemia on liver as a remote organ

AIM:To assess the hepatic changes after induction of different periods of renal ischemia. METHODS:Rats were subjected to either sham operation or ischemia (30,45 and 60 min) followed by 60 min reperfusion. Liver and renal functional indices were measured. Hepatic glutathione (GSH) and ferric reducing antioxidant power levels and the concentration of interleukin (IL)-10 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) were evaluated. Portions of liver and kidney tissues were fixed for histological evaluation. RESULTS:Forty-five minutes renal ischemia followed by 60 min reperfusion caused significant changes in liver structure and a significant reduction in renalfunction. These rats showed a significant decrease in liver GSH,as well as a significant increase in TNF-α and IL-10 concentrations. These results demonstrated that renal ischemia caused changes in liver histology,function,oxidative stress and inflammatory status,which led to a reduction in hepatic antioxidant capacity. With 30 min ischemia,the magnitude of these changes was less than those with 45 or 60 min ***:A minimum of 45 min ischemia is needed to study the effects of renal injury on the liver as a remote organ.

Neo-Realism and Neo-Liberalism in American＇s Foreign Policy： A Comparative Study

Many scientists and researchers in the field of international relations suggest theories which help to systematize our observations recognize stable patterns and explain those observations and paradigms. Furthermore, some scientists present recommendations about policies that should be selected. However, constantly in each issue of Foreign Policy, there are distinct and conflicting options for policy making. Theories of international relations are trying to find the causes and conditions that are sometimes direct countries to conflict, and sometimes to cooperate with each other. In this article, two important theoretical approaches in the field of international relations are considered which affect on the approaches of US leaders and decision making process in this country： Neo-Realism and Neo-Liberalism. The authors seek to show that what＇s the difference between these two approaches in theoretical principles？ Understanding of these differences will help to show this matter that based on suggestion of these two theories, how American policy makers must choose a rational choice from among competing alternatives？ Policymakers can select rational choices among competing alternatives, when a theory possesses empirical evidence, and values or goals.

Here,we introduce the first experimental proof of coherent oscillation and coupling of photoswitchable molecules embedded randomly in a polymeric matrix and acting cooperatively upon illumination with UV *** particular,we demonstrate the specular reflection and Brewster phenomenon alteration of photochromic molecular dipole *** successfully demonstrate the concept of Brewster wavelength,which is based on the dipolar interaction between radiating dipoles and the surrounding matrix possessing a net dipole moment,as a key tool for highly localized sensing of matrix *** also introduce the concept of‘tailored molecular photonic coupling’while highlighting the role of interferences for the design of optically active media by adjusting the photonic response of the medium with the real and imaginary refractive index of photoswitchable molecules in the‘ON’*** results enhance our fundamental understanding of coherent dipole radiation and open a new vein of research based on glassy disordered dipolar composites that act as macroscopic antenna with cooperative action;furthermore,these results have important implications for new design rules of tailored photonics.

A New Diterpene Extracted from Daphne Mucronata, Effects on Human K562 and CCRF-CEM Cell Lines

Background: Daphne Mucronata extract has a decreasing effect on the size of breast adenocarcinoma in rats. So in this study, the effect of Daphne Mucronata purified diterpene were investigated on co culture of human monocytes and two human leukemia cell lines (K562, CCRF-CEM). Materials and Methods: Each cell line mono-layer culture, in log phase growth, was treated with 10 to 160 μL of the extract (1 g/ml leave powder) and purified compound (0.94 nM). For a comparative study, Taxol (5 to 40 μM) was used in the presence and absence of LPS. Human monocytes were isolated by adhesion method. TNF-α in cultured media were measured by sensitive biotin-streptoavidin ELISA method. Results: Fifty percent of growth inhibition was shown by 160 μL (1:100 dilution, 0.5 g of the powdered leaves/ml) of the extract and 0.94 nM of the purified component, and there was more inhibition in K562 cells (P < 0.05). Four fold increases in growth inhibition was shown in co culture of isolated human monocytes and leukemia cell lines. There was a direct relationship between monocytes TNF-α secretion and growth inhibition degree. Conclusion: Daphne Mucronata extract and its purified diterpene through increasing monocytes TNF-α releasing, potentially inhibit Leukemia cell line.

Numerical Investigation of Penetration in Ceramic/Aluminum Targets Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Method and Presenting a Modified Analytical Model

Radius of ceramic cone can largely contribute into final solution of analytic models of penetration into ceramic/metal *** the present research,a modified model based on radius of ceramic cone was presented for ceramic/aluminum *** order to investigate and evaluate accuracy of the presented analytic model,obtained results were compared against the results of the Florence’s analytic model and also against numerical modeling *** phenomenon of impact onto ceramic/aluminum composites were modeled using smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)implemented utilizing ABAQUS *** indicated that,with increasing initial velocity and ceramic thickness and decreasing support layer thickness,the radius of ceramic cone decreases;this ends up increasing residual velocity of the projectile and penetration time and extending the area across which the pressure is *** findings indicate enhanced levels of target energy absorption and the required energy for bending and tensioning the *** such,it can be observed that,at the same thickness and areal density,the ceramic target has its efficiency enhanced with increasing ceramic thickness and decreasing the support layer ***,the results revealed that the associated data with SPH confirm the modified analytic model at higher accuracy than the Florence’s analytic model.

Nanoparticle migration effects on fully developed forced convection of TiO2-water nanofluid in a parallel plate microchannel

This study considers the forced convection of laminar TiO2-water nanofluid flow in a parallel plate microchannel. The small length scale associated with microchannels dictates the use of slip condition at the fuid-solid interface. The modified Buongiorno model was employed for the nanofiuid to fully account for the effects of non-uniform viscosity and thermal conductivity. The partial differential equa- tions associated with conservation laws were reduced to two-point ordinary boundary value differential equations before being numerically solved. Considering Brownian motion and thermophoresis, the effects of nanoparticle transport on concentration, velocity, and temperature profiles were analyzed for three different values of wall heat flux. To assess the efficiency of adding nanoparticles, the ratios of the pres- sure drop and the heat transfer coefficient of the nanofluid to that of the base fluid were studied in detail. From analyzing different heat flux ratios, one-sided heating was found to be most efficient at enhancing the heat transfer rate in the microchannel. Additionally, in the presence of the slip velocity, the increase in the value of the heat transfer coefficient for the nanofluid was smaller than that for the base fluid.

Predicting the yield of pomegranate oil from supercritical extraction using artificial neural networks and an adaptive-network-based fuzzy inference system

Various simulation tools were used to develop an effective intelligent system to predict the effects of temperature and pressure on an oil extraction yield. Pomegranate oil was extracted using a supercritical CO2 （SC-CO2） process. Several simulation systems including a back-propagation neural network （BPNN）, a radial basis function neural network （RBFNN） and an adaptive- network-based fuzzy inference system （ANFIS） were tested and their results were compared to determine the best predictive model. The performance of these networks was evaluated using the coefficient of determination （R^2） and the mean square error （MSE）. The best correlation between the predicted and the experimental data was achieved using the BPNN method with an R^2 of 0.9948.

Extraordinary adsorption of acidic fuchsine and malachite green onto cheap nano-adsorbent derived from eggshell

Removal of dyestuffs such as Acidic Fuchsine(AF)and Malachite Green(MG)being present in many forms in industries is vital to protect water reservoirs from their catastrophic effects on the *** study attempts to effectively eliminate these dyes using a low-cost and eco-friendly ***,as a biocompatible by-product,was initially characterized,then some modifications were conducted,and its morphology and chemical structure were then examined through(Atomic force microscopy)AFM,(Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)FTIR,(Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy)EDS and(Brunauer–Emmett–Teller)BET *** revealed that the modifications on raw material gave rise to a natural nano-adsorbent presenting porous medium appropriate for targeted adsorbate molecules with the average particle size and average pore diameter of 54 and^2 nm,*** groups on the adsorbent surface were also of importance to assist the adsorption of AF and *** effect of contact time,adsorbent dose,solution p H and initial concentration was ***-second order model accurately correlated the experimental kinetic data for both ***,the participation of intra-particle diffusion along with film diffusion in controlling the process was *** isotherm model fitted very well to the equilibrium data for both dyes and maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of AF and MG was accordingly calculated to be 5000 and 3333.33 mg·g-1 *** inherent characteristics of eggshell make it a potential material to remove contaminants from wastewater in future applications.
