Global energy demand is rising,fossil fuel prices are rising,fossil fuel reserves are running out,and fossil fuel use contributes to the greenhouse *** a clean alternative source of energy to fossil fuels,biomass is becoming more and more *** fiber(CF),often known as graphite fiber,is a thin,strong,and adaptable material utilized in both structural(capacity)and non-structural applications(e.g.,thermal insulation).Precursors are the raw materials used to create carbon fiber,which is mostly derived from fossil *** of the high cost of precursors and manufacture,carbon fiber has only found employment in a few numbers of high-performance structural materials(e.g.,aerospace).To reduce the price of CF and reliance on fossil fuels,numerous alternative precursors have been studied throughout the years,including biomass-derived precursors such as rayon,lignin,glycerol,and lignocellulosic *** study’s goal is to present a detailed study of biomass-derived CF precursors and their market *** authors look into the viability of producing CF from these precursors,as well as the state of technology,potential applications,and cost of production(when data are available).We go over their benefits and *** also talk about the physical characteristics of CF made from biomass and contrast them with CF made from polyacrylonitrile(PAN).Additionally,we go into bio-based CF manufacturing and end-product concerns,logistics for biomass feedstock and plant sites,feedstock competition,and risk-reduction *** paper offers a comprehensive overview of the CF potential from all biomass sources and can be used as a resource by both novice and seasoned professionals who are interested in producing CF from non-traditional sources.

Leaf Water Status and Its Relationship with Reproductive Responses of Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgarisL.) Genotypes under Water Stress

Two tolerant (BB24 and BB43) and two susceptible (BARI busbean-2 and BB04) genotypes of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) were evaluated for their water status and its relationship with reproductive responses under continuous water stress (50% field capacity) and control (80% field capacity) conditions in a net house covered with polyethylene sheet at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Under water stress condition, the susceptible genotype namely BB04 exhibited more negative leaf water potential (LWP) which was followed by that of BARI bushbean-2 in all the time of the day except at noon. The tolerant genotype namely BB24 exhibited less negative LWP at noon. The tolerant genotypes maintained higher relative water content (WRC) than the susceptible ones from dawn to dusk. The relationship between RWC and LWP was examined separately for four genotypes under water stress condition. The genotype BB24 showed a smaller decrease in RWC with more negative LWP than BB04. Water stress reduced pod setting ratio. The relationship between the leaf water status and reproductive responses showed that the genotype with a little reduction in mid-day drop of RWC or with high mid-day RWC displayed a high pod setting ratio.

AIM:To evaluate the role of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for choledocholithiasis in patients with sickle cell anemia (SCA) in the era of laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). METhODS:Two hundred and twenty four patients (144 male,80 female; mean age,22.4 years; range,5-70 years) with SCA underwent ERCP as part of their evaluation for cholestatic jaundice (CJ). The indications for ERCP were:CJ only in 97,CJ and dilated bile ducts on ultrasound in 103,and CJ and common bile duct (CBD) stones on ultrasound in 42. RESULTS:In total,CBD stones were found in 88 (39.3%) patients and there was evidence of recent stone passage in 16. Fifteen were post-LC patients. These had endoscopic sphincterotomy and stone extraction. The remaining 73 had endoscopic sphincterotomy and stone extraction followed by LC without an intraoperative ***:In patients with SCA and cholelithiasis,ERCP is valuable whether preoperative or postoperative,and in none was there a need to perform intraoperative cholangiography. Sequential endoscopic sphincterotomy and stone extraction followed by LC is beneficial in these patients. Endoscopic sphincterotomy may also prove to be useful in these patients as it may prevent the future development of biliary sludge and bile duct stones.

Among the most prominent, large-scale patterns of species richness are the increases in richness with decreasing latitude and with increasing habitat heterogeneity. Using the stream-dwelling larval and pupal stages of North American black flies （Diptera： Simuliidae）, we address 3 broad questions about species richness：（i） Does a significant latitude-richness relationship exist？（ii） how does habitat heterogeneity influence gamma diversity？（iii） What is the sign （positive or negative） of the latitude-richness and the heterogeneity-richness relationships？ We found no evidence that habitat heterogeneity influences gamma diversity. The estimated peak species richness for black flies in North America was at 50-53°N, which also corresponds with peak generic richness. All plesiomorphic, extant lineages of the Simuliidae in the Western hemisphere are found in cool mountainous environments of North America, suggesting that peak richness at 50-53°N might be a signature of this phylogenetic pattern and a reflection of underlying historical processes

OBJECTIVE: To compare the effects of a Chinese herbal suppository(Jianpi suppository) and Western Medicine(mesalazine) on hemorheology and CD62p in patients with ulcerative colitis(UC).METhODS: In a randomized trial, 120 mild to moderate UC patients were randomly divided into two equal groups. The Jianpi suppository group used Chinese herbal suppository rectally, while the mesalazine group was treated with mesalazine tablets orally. Two 15-day courses of treatment were carried out in both groups. Changes in the hemorheology and CD62p indices in patients were ***: The hemorheology and CD62p indices in the Jianpi suppository group decreased significantly more than those of the mesalazine ***: Jianpi suppository is effective in improving the hypercoagulability of UC patients, and therefore may be worth using in clinical practice.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is one of the most common hemoglobinopathies, which is caused by the replacement of glutamic acid with valine at the sixth position of the beta-globin amino acid chain which sickling of the entire red blood cells in the homozygous (hb S/S) condition. There are many analyses and screening procedures were developed to detect sickle cell anemia in the early age of birth, especially from heel prick blood, but in case of developing countries, it would be more acceptable to detect sickle cell disorder using umbilical cord blood just after birth rather than using heel prick blood. In this study, umbilical cord blood (UCB) was used to detect β-hemoglobin gene and sickle cell disorder. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based analysis was done using two primers (wild-type and mutant type) to detect this disorder. A total number of 22 samples were enrolled in this experiment for PCR amplification among which nineteen samples were identified by amplification of both 267 bp and 517 bp fragments revealing heterozygous sickle cell trait (hb A/S), whereas three samples were found to amplify of 517 bp only revealing healthy individuals. The result from PCR analysis was then collaborated with the information of the mothers of each sample to analyze the result more conveniently and found that the mothers of all individuals except the three samples had anemia or mild form of anemia, thus it was expected that the newborn might have anemia trait (hb A/S) the exception was found in case of sample No. 9 and sample No. 15. Both samples showed the bands on 267 bp and 517 bp thus expressed the sickle cell disease trait although the mothers of these samples were not anemic. however, no samples were recorded having sickle cell anemia (9 hb S/S). The inherent simplicity and low cost of this PCR based analysis with umbilical cord blood will be considered as an effective tool in future newborn screening in Bangladesh.
