Nowadays,traditional energy resources are going into a vulnerable condition *** that note biogas is an emerging subsidiary ***,cow-dung is used as a basic raw material to produce *** this study,various forms of putrescible waste like kitchen and vegetable waste were giving emphasis to produce biogas as a replacement of cow dung as well as good management of putrescible waste.2000 kg of kitchen and 1050 kg of vegetable waste were used in a biogas plant continuously for 15 days with a waste/water ratio of 1:*** 133.33 kg of kitchen and 70 kg of vegetable waste generated 2.27 kg and 1.17 kg of biogas per day ***,the average time of burning of biogas for kitchen and vegetable waste was 7.92 *** 4.08 *** day in some *** benefit-cost ratio was greater than 1 for both cases that’s why it can be reckoned as an efficacious *** Integrated Moving Average(ARIMA)model was performed to forecast the amount of biogas generation for kitchen and vegetable waste for the next 10 *** residual sum of square(RSS)value of the ARIMA model for kitchen and vegetable waste was 0.028437 and 0.139524 respectively which indicates ***,predictions of the amount of biogas generation are plotted with a 95%confidence *** forecast indicates that biogas from kitchen waste is more proficient than vegetable waste for the next 10 ***,this putrescible waste can be a prominent raw material for next-gen biogas production.

Particle swarm optimization(PSO) and invasive weed optimization(IWO) algorithms are used for extracting the modeling parameters of materials useful for optics and photonics research community. These two bio-inspired algorithms are used here for the first time in this particular field to the best of our knowledge. The algorithms are used for modeling graphene oxide and the performances of the two are compared. Two objective functions are used for different boundary values. Root mean square(RMS) deviation is determined and compared.

Load flow analysis is a significant tool for proper planning,operation,and dynamic analysis of a power system that provides the steady-state values of voltage magnitudes and angles at the fundamental ***,due to the absence of a slack bus in an islanded microgrid,modified load flow algorithms should be adopted considering the system frequency as one of the solution *** paper proposes the application of nature-inspired hybrid optimization algorithms for solving the load flow problem of islanded *** nature-inspired algorithms such as genetic algorithm(GA),differential evolution(DE),flower pollination algorithm(FPA),and grasshopper optimization algorithm(GOA)are separately merged with imperialistic competitive algorithm(ICA)to form four hybrid algorithms named as ICGA,ICDE,ICFPA,and *** of these algorithms are tested on the 6-bus test system and the modified IEEE 37-bus test system.A comparison among the proposed algorithms is carried out in terms of statistical analysis conducted using SPSS statistics *** the statistical analysis,it is identified that on an average,ICDE takes less number of iterations and consequently needs less execution time compared with other algorithms in solving the load flow problem of islanded microgrids.

Electromagnetic coupling via an evanescent field or radiative wave is a primary characteristic of light,allowing optical signal/power transfer in a photonic circuit but limiting integration density.A leaky mode,which combines both evanescent field and radiative wave,causes stronger coupling and is thus considered not ideal for dense *** we show that a leaky oscillation with anisotropic perturbation rather can achieve completely zero crosstalk realized by subwavelength grating(SWG)*** oscillating fields in the SWGs enable coupling coefficients in each direction to counteract each other,resulting in completely zero *** experimentally demonstrate such an extraordinarily low coupling between closely spaced identical leaky SWG waveguides,suppressing the crosstalk by≈40 dB compared to conventional strip waveguides,corresponding to≈100 times longer coupling *** leaky-SWG suppresses the crosstalk of transverse–magnetic(TM)mode,which is challenging due to its low confinement,and marks a novel approach in electromagnetic coupling applicable to other spectral regimes and generic devices.

While several recent studies have focused on elimi-nating the imbalance of energy stored in series-connected battery cells,very little attention has been given to balancing the energy stored in parallel-connected battery *** such,this paper aims at presenting a new balancing approach for parallel LiFePO_(4) battery *** this regard,a Backpropagation Neural Network(BPNN)based technique is employed to develop a Battery Management System(BMS)that can assess the charging status of all cells and control its operations through a DC/DC Buck-Boost *** results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in balancing the energy stored in parallel-connected battery cells in which the state of charge(SoC)estimation error is found to be only 1.15%.

Horizontal directional drilling(HDD)is a widely used trenchless method for underground utility *** associated ground settlement triggered by HDD depends on the size,types,and surface texture of pipe,diameter of borehole,and soil *** pre-sent study investigates the surface settlement due to the construction of a 1067 mm diameter HDD,which will replace an existing sewer siphon under the SR-60 highway in Chino,California using empirical,and numerical *** on the results obtained from the subsurface investigation,an empirical analysis was conducted *** by numerical modeling of the HDD using PLAXIS 2D soft-ware.A careful comparison between two different methods indicated closer values of surface settlement between the empirical method(7.3 mm)and the numerical modeling(4.6 mm).In addition,the shape of surface settlement and horizontal settlement curves for the empirical and numerical methods was found to be *** minor discrepancy between the two methods resulted as the numerical model can host several soil layers whereas the empirical equation can use only one type of ***,a parametric study was conducted to evaluate the effect of borehole cover depth,size,and soil parameters on surface *** was observed that soil strength param-eters yielded a greater effect on surface movement,whereas modulus of elasticity has a relatively smaller influence with zero contribution from Poisson’s ratio.

Background： The article presents the first estimates of biomass and productivity for mangrove forests along the Oligohaline zone of the Sundarbans Reserve Forest （SRF）, Bangladesh. This study was conducted overone year from March 2016 to April 20] 7. Stand structure, above and below-ground biomass changes, and litterfall production were measured within a 2100 m2 sample plot. Methods： All trees in the study plots were numbered and height （H） and diameter at breast height （DBH） were measured. Tree height （H） and DBH for each tree were measured in March 2016 and 2017. We apply the above and belowground biomass equation for estimating the biomass of the mangrove tree species （Chave et al. Oecologia 145：87-99, 2005; Komiyama et al. J Trop Ecol 21：471-477, 2005）. Litterfall was collected using 1-mm mesh litter traps with collection area of 0.42 m2. Net Primary Production （NPP） was estimated by the summation method of Ogawa Primary productivity of Japanese forests： productivity of terrestrial communities, JIBP synthesis （1977） and Matsuura and Kajimoto Carbon dynamics of terrestrial ecosystem： Systems approach to global environment （2013）. Results： Heritiero fomes has maintained its dominance of the stand and also suffered the highest tree mortality （2.4%） in the suppressed crown class. The total above-ground biomass （AGB） and below-ground biomass （BGB） of the studied stand was ]54.8 and 84.2 ***-1, respectively. Among the total biomass of the trees, 64.8% was allocated to AGB and 35.2% to BGB. In case of species-wise contribution of biomass allocation, Avicennia officinalis showed the highest score and Aglaia cucullota the lowest. Mean annual total litterfall was 10.1 Mg-ha ***-1, with the maximum litterfall in winter or dry season and late summer or rainy season. The mean AGB increment and above-ground net primary productivity （AGNPP） were 7.1 and 17.2 ***-1, respectively. Rainfall induced landslides are a common threat to the communities living on dangerous hillslopes in Chittagong Metropolitan Area, Bangladesh. Extreme population pressure, indiscriminate hill cutting, increased precipitation events due to global warming and associated unplanned urbanization in the hills are exaggerating landslide events. The aim of this article is to prepare a scientifically accurate landslide susceptibility map by combining landslide initiation and runout maps. Land cover, slope, soil permeability, surface geology, precipitation, aspect, and distance to hill cut, road cut, drainage and stream network factor maps were selected by conditional independence test. The locations of 56 landslides were collected by field surveying. A weight of evidence(Wo E) method was applied to calculate the positive(presence of landslides) and negative(absence of landslides) factor weights. A combination of analytical hierarchical process(AHP) and fuzzymembership standardization(weighs from 0 to 1) was applied for performing a spatial multi-criteria evaluation. Expert opinion guided the decision rule for AHP. The Flow-R tool that allows modeling landslide runout from the initiation sources was applied. The flow direction was calculated using the modified Holmgren's algorithm. The AHP landslide initiation and runout susceptibility maps were used to prepare a combined landslide susceptibility map. The relative operating characteristic curve was used for model validation purpose. The accuracy of Wo E, AHP, and combined susceptibility map was calculated 96%, 97%, and 98%, respectively.

The number of cybersecurity incidents is on the rise despite significant investment in security *** existing conventional security approaches have demonstrated limited success against some of the more complex *** is primarily due to the sophistication of the attacks and the availability of powerful *** devices such as the Internet of Things(IoT)are also increasing attack exposures due to the increase in *** the last few years,we have seen a trend moving towards embracing edge technologies to harness the power of IoT devices and 5G *** technology brings processing power closer to the network and brings many advantages,including reduced latency,while it can also introduce vulnerabilities that could be *** cities are also dependent on technologies where everything is *** interconnectivity makes them highly vulnerable to cyber-attacks,especially by the Advanced Persistent Threat(APT),as these vulnerabilities are amplified by the need to integrate new technologies with legacy *** behind APT attacks have recently been targeting the IoT ecosystems,prevalent in many of these *** this paper,we used a publicly available dataset on Advanced Persistent Threats(APT)and developed a data-driven approach for detecting APT stages using the Cyber Kill *** are highly sophisticated and targeted forms of attacks that can evade intrusion detection systems,resulting in one of the greatest current challenges facing security *** this experiment,we used multiple machine learning classifiers,such as Naïve Bayes,Bayes Net,KNN,Random Forest and Support Vector Machine(SVM).We used Weka performance metrics to show the numeric *** best performance result of 91.1%was obtained with the Naïve Bayes *** hope our proposed solution will help security professionals to deal with APTs in a timely and effective manner.
