To understand the influence of Kuroshio intrusion on the phytoplankton community,a field investigation was conducted in spring 2017 in the East China Sea(ECS),and 130 seawater samples were collected and *** comprised the highest cell abundance contributing about 66%of the total phytoplankton followed by diatoms(17%)and dinoflagellates(16%).The dominance of the Kuroshio Waters(KW)and the Taiwan Warm Currents(TWC)were higher than the Coastal Waters(CW).The vertical distribution of physicochemical parameters depicted the intrusion of KW at the bottom layer,but it failed to reach the surface as strong upwelling was not ***,the dissolved inorganic phosphate(DIP)concentrations and P/N ratios were the lowest in the CW and the upper water layers,which limited the diatom growth in this ***,the dinoflagellates cell abundance was also lower except in the surface and CW,though they comprised the maximum richness of species among the phytoplankton ***,the unique characteristics such as diazotrophy and gas vacuoles of Trichodesmium made the situation advantageous,and they comprised the maximum cell abundance in this area especially in KW and the ***,DIP and P/N ratios appeared to be the major environmental drivers for Trichodesmium proliferation in the ECS during the study period.

The Naf River estuary is one of the most productive ecological ecosystems in Bangladesh providing an important feeding area for fishes and other aquatic ***,detailed information on macrobenthic communities is rarely available in this *** study focused on the seasonal and spatial variability of macrobenthic community structure with their biomass and functional *** total,fortyseven taxa were identified under nine major groups and seven functional feeding *** macrobenthic taxa,Polychaeta was dominant in both seasons and all over the estuary contributing 60%of total *** mean abundance of macrobenthos was higher during the pre-monsoon(2 972±1 994 inds./m^2)than the monsoon(1 572±361 inds./m^2)being maximum at mid-estuary region and minimum at upper and lower estuary *** the diversity indices,density(P=0.01,P=0.003),the number of taxa(P=0.000 3,P=0.000 9)and Margalef′s Index(P=0.000 4,P=0.001)of macrobenthos were significantly different among stations and ***-Weiner index(P=0.009,P=0.12)and Pielou’s evenness index(P=0.03,P=0.14)had significant differences among stations but not among *** analysis suggested that distribution of macrofauna is strongly influenced by *** the feeding types,carnivorous were found to be dominant at the upper and mid-estuarine regions,and herbivorous were at lower estuarine *** species were dominant in both *** have shown to be the most abundant feeding type in terms of biomass though herbivores were highest during monsoon.

To examine the phytoplankton assemblages and the effect of diluted waters on them,a research cruise was conducted from July 19 to August 7,2015 in the Zhujiang(Pearl)River estuary in the northern South China Sea(21°N–23.5°N,111°E–117°E).Samples were collected from 65 stations including one for time-series sampling.A total of 212 phytoplankton taxa were identified from 61 genera belonging to 4 *** them,122 species identified from 42 genera of Bacillariophyta and 83 species from 15 genera of ***-forming diatoms dominated the phytoplankton community where Pseudonitzschia delicatissima,Guinardia striata,Thalassionema nitzschioides,and *** comprised about 52%of the total ***,higher cell abundances concentrated on both sides of the estuary,because of low salinity and high nutrients brought by diluted *** addition,Canonical Correspondence Analysis revealed that salinity and dissolved inorganic nitrogen shaped the species composition in the study ***,the Jaccard similarity index showed prevailing high similarity in the distribution of species in low-salinity diluted waters,and the Bray-Curtis similarity depicted distinguished grouping for phytoplankton assemblages along the salinity ***,phytoplankton diel vertical cycles showed maximum abundance occurred at 2:00 am,which was mainly contributed by benthic phytoplankton species Pseudo-nitzschia *** ***.

In pursuit of improved thermal transportation,the slip flow of Casson nanofluid is considered in the existence of an inclined magnetic field and radiative heat flux flow over a nonlinear stretching *** viscosity of the fluid is considered as a function of temperature along with the convective thermal boundary *** solutions are obtained via Runge-Kutta along with the shooting technique method for the chosen boundary values *** see the physical insights of the problem,some graphs are plotted for various flow and embedded parameters on temperature function,micro-organism distribution,velocity,and volume fraction of nanoparticles.A decline is observed in the velocity and the temperature for Casson *** and Brownian motion incremented the temperature *** is also found that thermal transportation can be enhanced in the presence of nanoparticles and the bioconvection of *** results are useful in the various sectors of engineering and for heat exchangers working in various technological *** main findings of the problem are validated and compared with those in the existing literature as a limiting case.

Fruit flies usually harbor diverse communities of bacteria in their digestive systems,which are known to play a significant role in their ***,little information is available on Zeugodacus tau,a polyphagous pest *** study reports the first extensive analysis of bacterial communities in different life stages and their effect on the development and reproduction of laboratory-reared Z *** bacteria were identified using the conventional method and all bacteria were identified by highthroughput technologies(16S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing of V3-V4 region).A total of six bacterial phyla were identified in larvae,pupae,and male and female adult flies,which were distributed into 14 classes,32 orders,58 families and 96 *** was the most represented phylum in all the stages except ***,Klebsiella,Providencia,and Pseudomonas were identified by conventional and next-generation sequencing analysis in both male and female adult flies,and Enterobacter was found to be the main *** being fed with antibiotics from the first instar larvae,bacterial diversity changed markedly in the adult *** flies laid eggs and needed 20 days before oviposition while the treated flies showed ovary development inhibited and were not able to lay eggs,probably due to the alteration of the *** findings provide the cornerstone for unexplored research on bacterial function in Z tau,which will help to develop an environmentally friendly management technique for this kind of harmful insect.

Objective: To evaluate the ameliorating effects of Raphanus sativus leaves(RSL)against sodium arsenite(Sa)-induced adverse effects through mice ***: Swiss albino mice were divided into four equal groups: control, Sa, RSL,RSL + Sa. Sa(10 mg/kg body weight/day), and powder form of RSL(50 mg/kg body weight/day) were provided as food supplement orallty. Blood indices were measured using commercially available kits through colorimetric ***: It was observed that lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, and aspartate aminotransferase activities were significantly(P < 0.05)higher in Sa-treated mice than those in the control group. RSL significantly reduced Sainduced elevation of the activities of these enzymes in serum significantly(P < 0.05).Serum butyrylcholinesterase activity and high density lipoproteins cholesterol levels in Satreated mice were significantly(P < 0.05) lower than the control group, and the food supplementation of RSL could significantly(P < 0.05) prevent the reduction of Sa-mediated serum butyryl cholinesterase activity and high density lipoproteins cholesterol levels. RSL could also reduce the Sa-induced elevation of serum urea level significantly(P < 0.05).Conclusions: Results of this study suggest the protective or ameliorating effects of RSL on Sa-induced perturbation of blood indices are related to the hepatic, cardiovascular and kidney dysfunction. Therefore, RSL may be useful to reduce arsenic toxicity in human in the future.

Phase change materials(PCMs)are used in buildings and automobiles to control the interior temperature,following to their high thermal storage capacity and energy *** summer,controlling the interior temperature of vehicles can be difficult,especially in cities where public transportation is excessively ***,heating,ventilation,and air-conditioning systems are included to provide thermal comfort inside vehicles,but they use a significant amount fuel,which ultimately have negative impacts on the *** this study,a prototype bus model was developed from an actual bus and scaled-down to 1/20th size.A bulb was used as an internal heat source and experiments were conducted under the sun in summer to reflect scenarios of buses stuck in *** cases were considered by opening and closing the windows and doors and placing the PCM layer on the roof and covering the *** results demonstrate that when the PCM is used to cover the bulb and roof,the interior temperature can drop to the ambient temperature and remain there for a longer period of *** fact,keeping the windows and doors open results in a significantly lower indoor temperature than when they are *** results show that the heat from the engine makes a major contribution to raising the temperature inside of the *** results from the opened cases can be applied to various forms of public transportation worldwide,but for many closed vehicles,additional ducting systems integrated with PCM may be the best option.

Aim:Brain abscess still poses a public health challenge in spite of the advent of modern neurosurgical techniques and ***,we present our surgical experiences and ultimate outcome in the management of brain ***:Totally,162 patients with proved brain abscess who underwent surgical treatment were included in this *** prospectively recorded data of surgical management of brain abscess and the ultimate outcome(by Glasgow outcome scale)were studied ***:Total number of cases was 162,of which 113 were acute pyogenic abscess while 49 were chronic *** the chronic abscess,29 were chronic pyogenic abscess,14 were tubercular,3 aspergillus,and 3 abscesses were in malignant brain *** acute cases,common clinical features were headache,fever,vomiting,focal deficit and *** chronic abscesses,common clinical features were mild to moderate headache and progressive focal ***-three(45.06%)patients had adjacent localized sinus,middle ear or cranial *** common predisposing factors included postneurosurgery,postpenetrating injury to brain,chronic suppurative otitis media,and congenital heart disease,infective endocarditis,sinusitis and sub optimum *** lobe involved in 30.2%cases,temporal lobe is next to *** time burr hole aspiration in 111(68.5%)cases,two or more times burr hole aspiration were done in 34(21%)*** culture was negative in 129(79.62%)*** number of death was 22(13.58%)*** resolution of abscess with complete recovery of preoperative neuro-deficit was seen in 80.86%cases and recovery with major neuro-deficit was observed in 5.55%*** is a significant association between Glasgow coma scale(GCS)on admission and mortality in brain ***:In most of the cases,pus culture did not yield growth of any causative *** was not directly related to surgical intervention,but GCS on admission has a significant
