Hydrostatic reduction of intussusception with intermittent radiography:an alternative to fluoroscopy or ultrasoundguided reduction in low-income and middle-income countries

Background Although hydrostatic reduction of intussusception with ultrasound(US)or fluoroscopy guidance is well known,it is not yet well established in many low-income and middle-income *** aim of the study is to report our results of hydrostatic reduction with intermittent radiography,which has the potential to be practiced in resource-limited *** We retrospectively analyzed our patients with intussusception from 2009 to 2019(11 years).Hydrostatic reduction was performed using water-soluble contrast medium(iopamidol),and reduction was followed with intermittent X-rays taken after every 50 mL of diluted contrast *** procedure was not continuously monitored by US or *** in outcome based on age and gender,and yearly trends of admission for intussusception,types of treatment and mortality were *** Among 672 patients,the ratio of boys to girls was 2.46:1.0,and their ages ranged from 1 month to 15 years(median 8 months).Hydrostatic reduction was performed successfully in 351(52.23%)patients;308(45.83%)patients underwent surgery;and 13(1.93%)patients died before any *** were significant differences in age between patients with successful hydrostatic reduction(median 7 months)and patients needing surgery(median 9 months)(p<0.001).The number of successful hydrostatic reductions increased during the 11 years of the study(R2=0.88).One patient(0.15%)died after hydrostatic reduction,and 10(1.49%)died after *** Hydrostatic reduction with intermittent radiography was performed successfully in more than half of the patients with acceptable complication rates.

Arsenic(As)is carcinogenic and highly toxic to *** accumulate As when grown in field soils irrigated with As-contaminated *** accumulation of As in roots,shoots,and grains of pea varieties can negatively affect human health via the food *** research is focused on the biomass growth and alleviation of As accumulation in roots,shoots,and grains of pea varieties in high As soil amended with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF),biochar(BC),selenium(Se),silica gel(Si-gel),and sulfur(S).Root,shoot,and grain masses were found higher in pea grown in As soil amended with AMF,Se,Si-gel,and *** with rice husk and sawdust BC was found less effective to increase growth parameters in Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute(BARI)Motor *** in grains was reduced by 77%,71%,and 69%by AMF,Se,and Si-gel,*** is recommended that soil amendments with AMF,S,and Se have great potential for improving biomass production of pea grown in As-contaminated soil,as well as reducing As transfer to humans through the food chains.

Molecular Identification of Alternaria alternate (Fr.) Keissl. from the Leaf Blight Disease of Centella asiatica L.

Centella asiatica (L.), frequently known as Thankuni, is an important ethnobotanical plant in Bangladesh. This study was conducted to evaluate the morphological characteristics, cultural factors and molecular identification of the causal agent of Alternaria leaf blight disease of C. asiatica. The potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium recorded the maximum mycelial growth (69 mm), followed by the yeast extract agar (YEA) medium, while the honey peptone agar (HPA) medium recorded the lowest growth (27 mm). The optimal pH and temperature for mycelial growth of Alternaria alternata were 6 and 30°C, respectively. Internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of Alternaria alternata PCR products measured 558 bp and blast search showed 99% sequence similarity with Alternaria alternata species complex. To the best of our knowledge, Alternaria leaf blight disease caused by Alternaria alternata is the first record in Bangladesh.

A Comparative Study of 3D Virtual Pattern and Traditional Pattern Making

Pattern making plays a key role in the aspect of fashion design and garment production, as it serves as the transformative process that turns a simple drawing into a consistent accumulation of garments. The process of creating conventional or manual patterns requires a significant amount of time and a specialized skill set in various areas such as grading, marker planning, and fabric utilization. This study examines the potential of 3D technology and virtual fashion designing software in optimizing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of pattern production processes. The proposed methodology is characterized by a higher level of comprehensiveness and reliability, resulting in time efficiency and providing a diverse range of design options. The user is not expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of traditional pattern creation procedures prior to engaging in the task. The software offers a range of capabilities including draping, 3D-to-2D and 2D-to-3D unfolding, fabric drivability analysis, ease allowance calculation, add-fullness manipulation, style development, grading, and virtual garment try-on. The strategy will cause a shift in the viewpoints and methodologies of business professionals when it comes to the use of 3D fashion design software. Upon recognizing the potential time, financial, and resource-saving benefits associated with the integration of 3D technology into their design development process, individuals will be motivated to select for its utilization over conventional pattern making methods. Individuals will possess the capacity to transfer their cognitive processes and engage in introspection regarding their professional endeavors and current activities through the utilization of 3D virtual pattern-making and fashion design technologies. The Influence of Rice Husk Ash on Mechanical Properties of the Mortar and Concrete: A Critical Review

Increasing the population and infrastructure in both emerging and developed countries requires a considerable amount of cement, which significantly affects the environment. The primary materials of concrete (‘cement’) production emit a large quantity of CO2 into the environment. Also, the cost of conventional building materials like cement gives motivation to find geopolymer waste materials for concrete. To reduce harmful effects on the environment and cost of traditional concrete substance, alternative waste materials like rice husk ash (RHA), ground granulated blast-furnace (GGBS), fly ash (FA), and metakaolin (MK) can be used due to their pozzolanic behavior. RHA waste material with a high silica concentration obtained from burning rice husks can possibly be used as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) in the manufacturing of concrete, and its strong pozzolanic properties can contribute to the strength and impermeability of concrete. This review paper highlights a summary of the positive effect of using RHA as a partial substitute for cement in building construction, as well as its optimal inclusion of enhanced mechanical properties like compressive strength, flexural strength, and split tensile strength of mortar and concrete.

Hall Effect on ECF Flow along a Rotating Infinite Porous Plate in the Presence of Transverse Magnetic Field

Unsteady extracellular fluid (ECF) flow along with a rotating infinite vertical porous plate in the presence of a transverse magnetic field has been studied numerically. The dimensional governing equations have been non-dimensionalized by useful dimensionless variables. The explicit finite difference method has been used to solve dimensionless equations. The numerical results have been calculated by studio developer FORTRAN 6.6a and MATLAB 2018a. For perfect conducting case, Magnetic Diffusivity Parameter 5 ≤ Pm ≤ 15 has been taken in induction equation. For good accuracy, stability and convergence analysis have been analyzed. Mesh Sensitivity test, steady-state solution test, and code validation test have been performed. For time step τ = 1, the numerical results have been found for the primary velocity, secondary velocity, angular velocity, primary induced magnetic field, secondary induced magnetic field, temperature as well as shear stresses along x and z direction, couple stress along z direction, current densities along x and z direction and the Nusselt number. Finally, the effects of various parameters have been separately discussed and illustrated graphically.

Soret and Dufour Effects on Unsteady Free Convection Fluid Flow in the Presence of Hall Current and Heat Flux

Unsteady MHD natural convective heat and mass transfer flow through a semi-infinite vertical porous plate in a rotating system have been investigated with the combined Soret and Dufour effects in the presence of Hall current and constant heat flux. It is considered that the porous plate is subjected to constant heat flux. The obtained non-dimensional, non-similar coupled non-linear and partial differential equations have been solved by explicit finite difference technique. Numerical solutions for velocities, temperature and concentration distributions are obtained for various parameters by the above mentioned technique. The local and average shear stresses, Nusselt number as well as Sherwood number are also investigated. The stability conditions and convergence criteria of the explicit finite difference scheme are established for finding the restriction of the values of various parameters to get more accuracy. The obtained results are illustrated with the help of graphs to observe the effects of various legitimate parameters.

从面向连接的角度出发,以Petri网为工具,建立了TCP协议异常检测模型.该模型以TCP协议的状态变迁图为基础,并根据协议规范可对传输报文的标志位进行系统的分析,从而识别出标志位非法组合构成的畸形报文(FIN-RST报文).模型中规定了各种状态下可接收的标志位集合,同时还细化了各状态下的超时异常,据此可准确地检测出各种异常,以抵御已知和未知的非法行为.利用该模型不仅可发现已知异常事件,还可对未知漏洞进行防范.通过实验发现,网络中的错误标志位报文、端口扫描以及DOS攻击产生的异常流量将占到总流量的10%以上.

A Numerical Study of MHD Laminar Flow in a Rotating Curved Pipe with Circular Cross Section

The incompressible viscous steady flow through a rotating curved pipe of circular cross-section with magnetic field is investigated numerically to examine the combined effects of rotation (Coriolis force), magnetic field and curvature (centrifugal force) on the flow. The curvature of the pipe has been assumed to be small, that is, the radius of the circle in which the central line of the pipe is coiled is large in comparison with the radius of the cross section. Spectral method is applied as a main tool for the numerical technique, where Fourier series, Chebyshev polynomials, Collocation methods, and Iteration method are used as secondary tools. The flow depends on the Taylor number (Tr), Dean Number (Dn), Magnetic Parameter (M) and the dimensionless curvature of the pipe δ. When Tr > 0, the rotation is in the direction so that the Coriolis force enforces the curvature effect. When Tr −1500 ≤ Tr ≤ 1500, Dn ≥ 1000 (large Dean number), M ≥ 0 and δ = 0.01. Due to high magnetic field four-vortex solution is observed in a rotating curved pipe system. Visualization is attained with MAPLE software.
