Nature is the best source of complementary and alternative medicine. The plant Phyllanthus acidus (PA) L. has been used traditionally in pain, inflammatory and oxidative stress related disorders. In this consequence, methanolic extract of PA (MEPA) was selected to explore the ability of this plant to enhance cognitive function, brain antioxidant enzymes and anti-acetylcholinesterase activity which can be used for the treatment of oxidative stress related disorders like Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The purpose of this study was to investigate the neuroprotective effect of MEPA on learning and memory impairment in scopolamine-induced rats of dementia and oxidative stress. Treatment with MEPA (i.e., 100 and 200 mg/kg b.w.) was investigated in scopolamine-treated Swiss albino male rats for 14 days and its neuroprotective effects were examined using Elevated Plus Maze (EPM) test, Passive Avoidance (PA) test, Novel Object Recognition (NOR) test, Morris Water Maze (MWM) test as well as level of antioxidant enzymes such as catalase (CAT), super oxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione reductase (GSR), glutathione-S-transferase (GST), reduced glutathione (GSH), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), lipid peroxidation (TBARS) contents and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity in rat brain tissue homogenates. Administration of MEPA significantly (P th and 14th day compared to the disease control and control group in the EPM test. In PA test the doses of MEPA suggestively (P th and 14th day with respect to disease control and control group. Royal Crown Shaped Polarization Insensitive Perfect Metamaterial Absorber for C-, X-, and Ku-Band Applications

This study proposed a new royal crown-shaped polarisation insensitive double negative triple band microwave range electromagnetic metamaterial absorber(MA).The primary purpose of this study is to utilise the exotic characteristics of this perfect metamaterial absorber(PMA)for microwave wireless *** fundamental unit cell of the proposed MA consists of two pentagonal-shaped resonators and two inverse C-shaped metallic components surrounded by a split ring resonator(SRR).The bottom thin copper deposit and upper metallic resonator surface are disjoined by an FR-4 dielectric substrate with 1.6 mm *** CST MW studio,a high-frequency electromagnetic simulator has been deployed for numerical simula-tion of the unit cell in the frequency range of 4 to 14 *** the TE mode,the offered MA structure demonstrated three different absorption peaks at 6.85 GHz(C-band),8.87 GHz(X-band),and 12.03 GHz(Ku-band),with 96.82%,99.24%,and 99.43%absorptivity,*** electric field,magnetic field,and surface current distribution were analysed using Maxwell’s-Curl equations,whereas the angle sensitivity was investigated to comprehend the absorption mechanism of the proposed *** numerical results were verified using the Ansys HFSS(high-frequency structure simulator)and ADS(advanced design system)for equivalent circuit ***,the proposed MA is polarisation and incident angle ***,the application of this MA can be extended to a great extent,including airborne radar applications,defence,and stealth-coating technology.

Agro-Morphological, Physico-Chemical and Molecular Characterization of Rice Germplasm with Similar Names of Bangladesh

Thirty-one duplicate and similar named rice germplasms of Bangladesh were studied to assess the genetic variation for the agro-morphological and physico-chemical traits and simple sequence repeat banding patterns during 2009–2012 at Bangladesh Rice Research Institute. The range of variations within the cultivar groups showed higher degree. The principal component analysis showed that the first five components with vector values > 1 contributed 82.90% of the total variations. The cluster analysis grouped the genotypes into four clusters, where no duplicate germplasm was found. The highest number(11) of genotypes was constellated in cluster I and the lowest(3) in cluster II. The intra- and inter-cluster distances were the maximum in cluster I(0.93) and between clusters I and IV(24.61), respectively, and the minimum in cluster IV(0.62) and between clusters I and III(5.07), respectively. The cluster mean revealed that the crosses between the genotypes of cluster I with those of clusters II and IV would exhibit high heterosis for maximum good characters. A total of 350 alleles varied from 3(RM277) to 14(RM21) with an average of 7.8 per locus were detected at 45 microsatellite loci across the 31 rice accessions. The gene diversity ranged from 0.48 to 0.90 with an average of 0.77, and the polymorphism information content values from 0.44(RM133) to 0.89(RM206) with an average of 0.74. RM206, RM21, RM55, RM258 and RM433 were considered as the best markers on the basis of their higher polymorphism information content values. The dendrogram from unweighted pair-group method with arithmetic average clustering also classified the genotypes into four groups, where group IV comprised of 20 genotypes and group III of one genotype, but no duplicate was found. Finally, similar and duplicate named rice germplasms need to be conserved in gene bank as are distinct from each other.

In the 5^(th) generation mobile communication(5G)system,better bitrate,better power consumption,and better Bit Error Rate are *** meet all these requirements in 5G,the waveform is *** the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)modulation scheme has been commonly used in 4G,it is difficult to meet the requirements of 5G.A lot of candidate waveforms are discussed in the 5G system included Filter Bank Multicarrier(FBMC),Universal Filtered Multicarrier(UFMC),Filtered OFDM(F-OFDM),and Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing(GFDM),***,since GFDM is no longer widely used,in this paper,FBMC,UFMC,and F-OFDM modulation schemes are discussed and compared with *** Spectral Density(PSD),Bit Error Rate(BER),Transmitted Signal Power,Peak Average Power Ratio(PAPR)and Bit Rate parameters of the modulation schemes are studied and compared with *** demonstrates to be the most promising modulation scheme for 5G systems.

Impact of Lockdown Measures and Meteorological Parameters on the COVID-19 Incidence and Mortality Rate in Bangladesh

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has become a public health crisis and a global catastrophe for human *** the absence of a vaccine,non-pharmaceutical interventions have been implemented across the world to reduce COVID-19 ***,several studies have articulated the influence of meteorological parameters on COVID-19 infections in several *** purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of lockdown measures and meteorological parameters on COVID-19 daily confirmed cases and deaths in *** parameters,such as case fatality rate,recovery rate,number of polymerase chain reaction tests,and percentages of confirmed cases were calculated for data covering March to September *** meteorological data include daily average temperature,humidity,and wind speed,and their effects on COVID-19 data were analyzed after 0,3,7,and 14 days.A linear regression analysis revealed that all the studied meteorological parameters were positively correlated with the daily new cases and deaths in Bangladesh,while the highest correlations were observed for the 14 days incubation *** results provide useful implications for the healthcare authorities to contain the pandemic in Bangladesh and beyond.

Oxidative stress is intensely linked with neurodegenerative disorders, especially Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Searching for medicinal plant with the nootropic activity for controling the development and progression of AD has received extensive consideration. The plant Phyllanthus reticulatus (PR) Poir. is known in Bengali as Panjuli belongs to family Euphorbiaceae. Previous studies have shown the antioxidant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, etc. activities of this plant. Therefore, the objective of this study was to examine the nootropic effect of ethanolic extracts of Phyllanthus reticulatus (EEPR) on cognitive functions, brain antioxidatant enzymes and acetylcholinesterase activity in aluminium-induced rats of cognitive impairment and oxidative stress. The effects of EEPR fruit (i.e., 100 and 200 mg/kg b.w.) were examined for 30 days and its nootropic effect was determined in aluminium treated Swiss albino male rats by behavioral studies such as Passive Avoidance (PA) test, Rewarded Alternation (RA) test and biochemical studies such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), contents of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity in rats brain tissue homogenates. In PA test, administration of EEPR fruit (i.e., 100 and 200 mg/kg, b.w.) significantly (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) increased step-through latency (STL) in rats on 30th day with respect to disease control group. The percentage of memory retention (MR) for this test was pointedly (P < 0.05) increased in rats treated with EEPR fruit (i.e., 200 mg/kg b.w.) as compared with disease control group. For RA test, EEPR fruit (i.e., 200 mg/kg b.w.) markedly (P < 0.01) increased the correct responses (CR) in rats on 30th day related to disease control group. In case of this test the percentage of MR was significantly (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) increased in rats treated with EEPR fruit (i.e., 100 and 200 mg/kg b.w.) with respect to disease control group. Objective:To analyze in vivo neuro-pharmacological effects of Alpinia nigra as anxiety is a particular form of behavioral inhibition that occurs in response to novel environmental ***:In present study,the extract of Alpinia nigra was evaluated for its central nervous system depressant effect using mice behavioral models,such as hole cross,open field and thiopental sodium induced sleeping time tests for its sedative properties and an elevated plusmaze test for its anxiolytic potential,***:In anxiolytic study,the extract displayed increased percentage of entry into open arm ut the dose of 400 and 200 mg/*** extract produced a significant(P<0.01) increase in sleeping duration and reduction of onset of sleep compared to sodium thiopental at both doses(200 and400 mg/kg).The extract t.200 and 400 mg/kg) also showed a dose-dependent suppression of motor activity and exploratory activity of the mice in both open field and hole cross ***:This study demonstrates that the treated extract has significant central nervous system depressant *** studies on active constituent of the extract can provide approaches for therapeutic intervention.

Annual pattern of zooplankton communities and their environmental response in a subtropical maritime channel system in the northern Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh

Zooplankton plays an important role in aquatic food webs by fluxing of energy from primary producer to subsequent trophic levels in the food chain. The annual pattern of zooplankton communities and potential environmental drivers were studied in the Kohelia channel, Bangladesh from summer 2014 to spring *** were collected using net at a depth of 1 m. A total of 32 species belonged to 18 orders, 27 families and 15 taxonomic groups were identified. Of these species, 22 distributed in all four seasons of which 8 were dominant and highly contributing to the total communities. Species number peaked in summer next to winter and fall in spring while maximum abundance was in summer and minimum in spring. Multivariate analyses showed that there was a clear annual pattern in the zooplankton communities. Species diversity and evenness peaked in spring but fall in autumn while the high value of species richness was found in winter. Biological-environmental best matching（BIO-ENV） analyses conformed that community pattern of zooplankton was mainly driven by transparency salinity, and temperature individually or combined with water nutrients. These results demonstrate that annual pattern of the zooplankton community shaped by channel environmental factors in subtropical channel ecosystems, thus might be used for community-based subtropical coastal water bioassessment.

The importance of boundary layer flow of micropolar fluid and heat transfer over an exponentially penneable shrinking sheet is *** similarity approach is adopted and self-similar ordinary differential equations are obtained and then those are solved numerically using very efficient shooting *** to that of Newtonian fluid flow case,here also dual similarity solutions for velocity,microrotation and temperature are obtained when certain amount of mass suction is applied through the porous *** steady flow of micropolar fluid over exponentially shrinking porous sheet the mass suction need to be stronger compared to the Newtonian fluid *** dual velocity,microrotation,and temperature profiles it is found that the velocity decreases with material parameter(related to micropolar fluid)for first solution and it increases for second,whereas the effects are opposite for fluid *** the other hand,for larger material parameter microrotation profile reduces for both types of *** it significant that the skin friction coefficient,the couple stress coefficient and the heat transfer coefficient show similar variation with increasing material parameter,all those physical quantities decrease for first solution and increase for second solution.

Biodiversity has become an issue of global attention because of growing awareness of its importance and its rapid depletion *** of tree species in relation to environmental and disturbance gradients was examined in three managed *** were randomly sampled in a survey of 75 circular plots(radius=13 m)with 5 subplots(radius=1 m).Generalized linear model analysis was used with a Poisson distribution log link function to understand the effects of variables(organic matter,organic carbon,nitrogen,potassium,pH,elevation and disturbance)on tree species *** correspondence analysis was used to explore ecological relationships among *** result found that the stand characteristics was an important influencing factor in the three *** result showed that the variables had a highly positive influence on tree species richness in the three *** ordination,the selected variables governed the richness of tree *** study can help identify the most important factors that drive tree species richness in the three managed forests in Bangladesh and in similar ecosystems and inform forest management decisions for conservation according to ecological importance.
