With a continuous threat of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)worldwide,efforts to discover new alternatives are ongoing for its ***,the use of natural herbal products is promising to achieve this goal as it has been reported to have fewer side effects compared to synthetic *** atroviridis is one of the plants that has been reported to have various therapeutic functions,including antioxidant,antimicrobial,anticancer,anti-inflammatory,and *** study aimed to identify the bioactive compounds and evaluate the antidiabetic and cytotoxic potential of *** fruit aqueous crude *** *** fruit extract demonstrated promising inhibitory potential against theα-amylase andα-glucosidase enzymes with halfmaximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of 211±0.74μg/ml and 963±0.85μg/ml,*** the IC50 cytotoxicity concentrations of *** extract on L6 cells for 24 h,48 h,and 72 h,are 0.96±0.11 mg/ml,0.63±0.5 mg/ml and 0.45±0.3 mg/ml,*** was noted that the IC50 forα-glucosidase inhibition was higher than the IC50 of L6 cells cytotoxicity for 48 h,and 72 h,however the extract still proved to be viable to help in managing diabetes at lower concentration since there are other properties in the extract that can potentially help in targeting other diabetic therapeutic candidates,such asα-***,through LCMS chromatographic analysis,a library of 62 chemical constituents was *** were put up for further pharmacological screening and molecular docking analyses,and we short-listed 18 potent antidiabetic bioactive ***,molecular dynamics(md)simulation was performed,which showed stable ligand-protein *** conclusion,the findings of this research demonstrated that *** fruit extract could be an excellent source of bioactive compounds with promising antidiabetic potential.

Fusobacterium nucleatum is an anaerobic, commensal, gram-negative oral bacterium that is carcinogenic and causes a wide range of human diseases. The present study focused on the analysis of the hypothetical protein, HMPREF3221_01179, derived from F. nucleatum strain MJR7757B, employing various computational methods to anticipate both its structure and functional characteristics. NCBI conserved domain analysis, NCBI BLASTp and MEGA Phylogenetic tree study characterize the target protein as an outer membrane efflux protein (ToIC family) which facilitate the bacterial transmembrane transport. With a molecular weight of 52120.02 Da, an isoelectric point (pI) of 8.33, and an instability index of 29.47, the protein is anticipated to exhibit good solubility in the extracellular space and crucial stability for pharmaceutical applications. The protein’s structure meets quality standards during the construction and refinement of its 3D model. The efflux inhibitor Arginine beta-naphthylamide exhibits a significant binding affinity (-7.1 kcal/mol) to the binding site of the target protein. The in-silico analysis improves the understanding of the protein and facilitates future investigations into therapeutic medication.

Comparison of half-molar sodium lactate and mannitol to treat brain edema in severe traumatic brain injury:A systematic review

Purpose:Hypertonic fluids such as mannitol and half-molar sodium lactate are given to treat intracranial hypertension in patients with severe traumatic brain injury(TBI).In this study,sodium lactate was compared to mannitol in patients with TBI to investigate the efficacy in reducing intracranial pressure(ICP).Methods:This study was a systematic review with literature research on articles published in any year in the databases of PubMed,ScienceDirect,Asian Journal of Neurosurgery,and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled *** keywords were"half-molar sodium lactate","mannitol","cerebral edema or brain swelling",and"severe traumatic brain injury".The inclusion criteria were(1)studies published in English,(2)randomized control trials or retrospective/prospective studies on TBI patients,and(3)therapies including half-molar sodium lactate and mannitol and(4)sufficient data such as mean difference(md)and risk ratio(RR).Data analysis was conducted using Review Manager ***:From 1499 studies,a total of 8 studies were *** group reduced ICP of 0.65 times(md 0.65;p=0.64)and improved cerebral perfusion pressure of 0.61 times(md 0.61;p=0.88),better than the half-molar group of sodium *** the half-molar group of sodium lactate maintained the mean arterial pressure level of 0.86 times,better than the mannitol group(md 0.86;p=0.09).Conclusion:Half-molar sodium lactate is as effective as mannitol in reducing ICP in the early phase of brain injury,superior over mannitol in an extended *** is able to prevent intracranial hypertension and give better brain tissue perfusion as well as more stable *** osmolarity is a concern as it increases serum sodium.

The bioactive triterpenoid 3-oxo-6-β-hydroxy-β-amyrin(1)has been isolated from multiple plant *** this study,chloroform fraction of Pistacia integerrima extract was processed for the isolation of the *** compound identity was confirmed by advanced spectroscopy technique.X-ray crystallography was applied for molecular structure *** addition,compound 1 was screen for its activity on reversal of mdR(multidrug resistance)mediated by P-gp(P-glycoprotein).This was accomplished by using rhodamine123 exclusion on multidrug-resistant human ABCB1 gene transfected mouse T-lymphoma cell *** revealed that mdR reversing effect was comparable to verapamil as positive control in *** of TPA-induced tumor promotion with 3-oxo-6β-hydroxy-β-amyrin led to reduction in the applied anti-tumor promotion *** chemo-preventive effect of 3-oxo-6β-hydroxy-β-amyrin was comparable to curcumin as positive control based on the reduction of immediate early tumor antigen *** docking by applying Autodock Vina 1 and i-GEmdOCK v 2.1 tools indicated that compound 1 gives good docking results,as determined by their fitness score and ***,results showed that compound 1 isolated from Pistacia integerrima precisely attached to a region where co-crystallized ligand for receptor previously *** findings may explain the use of Pistacia integerrima plant extracts as an anticancer agent in folk medicine.

Background: Since 2019, the pandemic of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread very rapidly in China and Worldwide. COVID-19 is a highly contagious, infectious and rapidly spreading viral disease with an alarming case fatality rate up to 5%. Case Report: In this article, we report a case of 60 years old non diabetic, hypertensive woman infected with COVID-19 who has end stage renal disease (ESRD) on hemodialysis for last 18 months. COVID-19 patients with ESRD need isolation dialysis but most of them cannot be handled properly due to limited hemodialysis machine. With these unavailability and risk, we continue the treatment along with hemodialysis for controlling uraemia and fluid balance. With all effort this patient ended with an uneventful course with clinical improvement, improvement of all laboratory parameters and resolution of radiological findings but follow up RT-PCR cannot done due to changing guideline of discharge criteria of COVID-19 patient in Bangladesh.

Background: Aberrant lipid metabolism presumed to have important relationship with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), though previous studies revealed inconsistent results on this area. Objectives: To identify the difference of serum lipid profile between gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and pregnant woman with normal glucose tolerance (NGT). Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted from January 2017 to December 2017 at Department of Endocrinology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh with 31 GDM and equal number of NGT pregnant women diagnosed on the basis of WHO criteria-2013, during 24 - 40 weeks of gestation. Glucose was measured by glucose oxidase method and fasting serum lipid profile [Total cholesterol (TC), High Density Lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) and Triglyceride (TG)] was measured by enzymatic-colorimetric method. Data were analyzed and compared by statistical tests. Results: Among total sixty-two (62) study subjects, 31 were GDM (age: 27.52 ± 4.8 years, body mass index (BMI): 27.17 ± 3.3 kg/m2) and 31 were pregnant women with NGT (age: 24.94 ± 4.2 years, BMI: 25.43 ± 6.5 kg/m2). Mean age of GDM group was significantly higher than that of NGT group (p = 0.028). Women with GDM showed relatively higher BMI than NGT women but that was not statistically significant (p = 0.194). Fasting lipid profiles between GDM and NGT (GDM vs. NGT;total cholesterol: 194.21 ± 42.18 vs. 208.52 ± 42.18 mg/dl, p = 0.187;HDL-C: 47.50 ± 16.17 vs. 47.18 ± 11.71 mg/dl, p = 0.928;LDL-C: 109.25 ± 28.80 vs. 119.30 ± 34.76 mg/dl, p = 0.220 and triglyceride 204.78 ± 58.50 vs. 202.34 ± 79.18 mg/dl, p = 0.891) were not significantly different. Background: By the dawn of this modern era of science, the prime challenge of physician is cardiovascular disease (CVD). The most important modifiable risk factors of CVDs are unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and tobacco use. The effects of unhealthy diet and physical inactivity include abnormal blood lipid, obesity and hypertension. We tried to evaluate and correlate the pattern of lipid profile in obese and non-obese hypertensive patients. Objectives: This study was conducted at medicine department of Cumilla Medical College Hospital. The principal aim was to evaluate the lipid profile in obese and non-obese adult hypertensive patients. Methodology: During this cross sectional analytical study, a total of 100 adult hypertensive patients were taken by purposive sampling. Among them 50 (group 1) patients were taken those were obese and 50 (group 2) patients taken those were non-obese according to BMI measurement on operational definition. Diagnosis of hypertension would be established with the help of ambulatory BP measurements two occasions few minutes apart. The staging of hypertension was done according to JNC7 Criteria. Morning blood samples were taken after 8 - 12 hours of fasting and lipid profiles were done on authentic laboratories. The laboratory values were interpreted according to the operational definition of dyslipidaemia. The ethical research and review committee approved the study protocol and signed informed consent was obtained from the participants. 自100多年前鸡马立克病(md)首次报道以来,人们一直致力于病原体及其防控策略的研究。近几年来,由于马立克氏病毒(mdV)的不断进化,引起诸多地区屡次暴发md,如何改进预防措施显得刻不容缓,因此,必须了解病毒与宿主之间的相互作用。宿主的免疫系统与病毒的入侵与扩散息息相关,主要通过两种机制应对病毒入侵,作为机体第一道免疫防线的天然防御机制包括可溶性因子的分泌以及巨噬细胞和自然杀伤细胞等免疫细胞的参与,天然免疫反应促使免疫系统形成特异的抵抗mdV的抗体和细胞免疫应答。除免疫系统外,遗传和表现遗传机制有助于鸡应答mdV感染。本文综述了目前对mdV诱导的免疫应答的理解以及免疫应答的遗传因子。
