The aggregation behavior of the mixture of cetyltrimethylammonium chloride(CTAC), a cationic surfactant, and moxifloxacin hydrochloride(MFH), a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic drug, has been studied using the conductivity technique in aqueous and alcoholic(EtOH, 1-PrOH, and 2-BuOH)media. The study was performed at several temperatures between 298.15 and 323.15 K at 5 K *** assembly has been characterized by evaluating the micellar parameters, such as the critical micelle concentration(CMC) and the counter ion binding(β), of the CTAC + MFH mixture. The values of the CMC for the assembly of the CTAC + MFH mixture were reliant on the composition of alcohols in the mixed solvents and the temperature. The CMC values of the CTAC + MFH mixture increased with increasing temperature;that is, assembly was delayed by increased temperature. The micellization of the CTAC + MFH mixed system was delayed in alcoholic media. The observed-ΔG0mvalues for the association of the CTAC + MFH mixed system demonstrated a spontaneous aggregation process under all study *** on the-ΔH^(0)_(m) and +ΔS^(0)_(m) values, the association of the CTAC + MFH mixture is exothermic and the interaction forces acting between the CTAC and MFH species are hydrophobic, ion–dipole, and electrostatic interactions. The transfer properties and enthalpy–entropy compensation were also assessed and described comprehensively.

随着互联网和经济的快速发展,在互联网中存在越来越多不同类型的股票信息,这些股票信息具有高维度、信息量大、易变等特点,并经常给一般用户带来困惑。因此,用户需要好的信息表示方式以获取自己需要的信息和友好人机交互去访问网络信息。本文把本体和可视化技术结合起来,用于解决股票信息的语义与内容呈现。通过构建股票领域本体,构建股票的语义,能够明确地、形式化地描述股票信息及其股票信息的相互关系,并提供股票信息综合的本体驱动;可视化是利用计算机图形学和图像处理技术,将数据转换成图形或图像在屏幕上显示出来,并进行交互处理的技术,用它可以为用户形象地显示股票数据和股票信息。本文的研究对象是雅虎财经网站(http://***/finance),该网站提供了足够的信息满足本研究。雅虎公司提供的股票信息是基于文本模型和表格模型、股票信息分散在网站的不同网页,用户很难根据自己的需求捕捉到适合的股票信息。另外,雅虎网站不允许用户使用股票服务,仅仅依靠股票历史数据和当前数据,一般的用户去很难理解和分析股票信息。本文的主要贡献如下： (1)给出了VSIS的系统分析。本文详细给出了VSIS的需求分析,包括VSIS的顶层用例图及描述、语义ER模型及数据库设计。 (2)给出了可视化的股票信息系统本体的学习模型。利用从yahoo财经站点、股评领域、VSIS需求、领域知识库这4种不同的信息来源,指导对股票信息本体的逐步学习与求精的过程,得到VSIS的顶层本体池。在本体学习过程中,通过斯坦福大学开发的开源软件protege建模来过滤、解释和验证本体的逻辑与正确性;学习过程与验证过程同时进行、相互验证与修改,以确定VSIS顶层本体。然后,再依次确定下层本体。所建立的本体可以使用OWL、RDF、RDF Scheme进行描述。 (3)给出了可视化股票信息系统的本体的形式化定义O=(C, R, A, I),可视化股票信息系统的本体用于描述股票信息的元素(实例、术语、词汇),关系和规则,另外,可视化股票信息系统的本体等同于分类,该分类层次结构及其关系来分析股票信息,利用形式化的四元组从功能与信息层面描述了可视化股票信息系统中的本体。 (4)建立了基于可视化股票信息系统本体的可视化股票信息系统框架,该框架是一个客户/服务器架构,能依据用户的需求进行查询股票信息并显示服务;同时系统提供了数据交易层、非数据交易层、股票信息层和智能信息层四个层次的股票可视化,易于用户理解,并方便与用户的交互。 (5) VSIS的原型系统在Windows操作系统、MATLAB 7.0和SQL Sever中进行开发,系统能根据用户输入的股票代号,为用户提供不同可视化股票信息的呈现,方便用户查找、检索、比较和浏览股票信息。实验结果表明基于本体的可视化股票信息系统既能很好地表示股票信息,又能为用户提供很好的交互,达到了既定的可视化股票信息系统的设计需求。

Anxiolytic Effects of the Methanolic Extract of <i>Bacopa monniera</i>in Mice

Bacopa monniera Linn. or Brahmi, a plant in the family Scrophulariaceae, is used as a traditional medicine for memory improvement, dementia like anxiety, depression, epilepsy etc. for a long time in Bangladesh. This study evaluated the anxiolytic effects of the methanolic extract of B. monniera (MEBM) in animal models of anxiety. For the further tests and phytochemical screening, the whole plant of B. monniera extracted following maceration method. The extract was evaluated for anxiolytic activity using light/dark box, elevated plus maze, marble burying and rota rod tests in mice at the doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg body weight. Diazepam (1.0 mg/kg), an anxiolytic drug used as standard drug. MEBM showed a strong and dose-dependent anxiolytic effects in animal models of anxiety. MEBM significantly increased the time spent in the light compartment, the latency time, and the entries of open arms in light/dark and elevated plus maze tests. In addition, MEBM also significantly decreased the number of buried marbles in marble burying test and increased the time of performance in rota rod test (p < 0.05). These were the major findings of this study. Therefore, our results reported that MEBM possesses anxiolytic effects in animal models of anxiety that support the traditional use of this plant as a potent agent to combat anxiety.

Clustering Countries on COVID-19 Data among Different Waves Using K-Means Clustering

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused an unprecedented spike in confirmed cases in 230 countries globally. In this work, a set of data from the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak has been subjected to two well-known unsupervised learning techniques: K-means clustering and correlation. The COVID-19 virus has infected several nations, and K-means automatically looks for undiscovered clusters of those infections. To examine the spread of COVID-19 before a vaccine becomes widely available, this work has used unsupervised approaches to identify the crucial county-level confirmed cases, death cases, recover cases, total_cases_per_million, and total_deaths_per_million aspects of county-level variables. We combined countries into significant clusters using this feature subspace to assist more in-depth disease analysis efforts. As a result, we used a clustering technique to examine various trends in COVID-19 incidence and mortality across nations. This technique took the key components of a trajectory and incorporates them into a K-means clustering process. We separated the trend lines into measures that characterize various features of a trend. The measurements were first reduced in dimension, then clustered using a K-means algorithm. This method was used to individually calculate the incidence and death rates and then compare them.

In this letter,a humidity sensor is demonstrated by applying a whispering gallery mode(WGM)from a microsphere resonator onto the ZnO nanorods coated glass *** diameter of the microsphere was 234μm and the glass surface was coated with ZnO nanorods using the hydrothermal method at growth duration of 12 h.A significant response to humidity level ranging from 35%RH to 85%RH has been observed with the sensitivity of 0.0142 nm/%*** proposed humidity sensor has successfully employed to enhance interaction between the whispering gallery mode evanescent and surrounds analyte with the assistance of ZnO nanorods coated glass.

Mutualistic fungal endophytes produce phytohormones and organic acids that promote japonica rice plant growth under prolonged heat stress

This study identifies the potential role in heat-stress mitigation of phytohormones and other secondary metabolites produced by the endophytic fungus Paecilomyces formosus LWL1 in japonica rice cultivar Dongjin. The japonica rice was grown in controlled chamber conditions with and without P. formosus LWL1 under no stress （NS） and prolonged heat stress （HS） conditions. Endophytic association under NS and HS conditions significantly improved plant growth attributes, such as plant height, fresh weight, dry weight, and chlorophyll content. Furthermore, P. for- mosus LWL1 protected the rice plants from HS compared with controls, indicated by the lower endogenous level of stress-signaling compounds such as abscisic acid （25.71%） and jasmonic acid （34.57%） and the increase in total protein content （18.76%-33.22%）. Such fungal endophytes may be helpful for sustainable crop production under high environmental temperatures.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence,clinical and bacteriological features and outcome of extrapulmonary tuberculosis in patients attending a tertiary care hospital at Kota Bharu,***:All culture positive tuberculosis cases recorded in Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia at Kota Bharu during five years period from 2003-2007 were included in the *** detected in samples originating from sites other than lungs was considered as a case of extrapulmonary ***,site of infection,bacteriological findings and outcomes were ***:Out of 437 tuberculosis cases recorded from 2002-2006,59 cases had culture positive extrapulmonary *** mean age was 37 years and 44%were between the ages of 20-40 *** 63%were negative for acid-fast bacilli by Z-N *** the 59,97%was Mycobacterium tuberculosisc(***) while two(3%) were atypical Mycobacterium Runyon Group-Ⅳ.Only 3 (5%) were isoniazid *** sites involved were lymph nodes 19(31%),central nervous system 12(20%),pleural 11(19%) spine 8(14%).,renal 3(5.1%) and others 6(10.2%).In this series, 11(18%) were positive for *** was no significant association between extrapulmonary tuberculosis and HIV *** outcome of CNS tuberculosis was the poorest with a mortality rate of 25%.Conclusion: *** is the predominant organism in extrapulmonary tuberculosis and culture is the most effective method for its diagnosis.

Heat Generation Effects on MHD Natural Convection Flow along a Vertical Wavy Surface with Variable Thermal Conductivity

The heat generation effects on magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) natural convection flow along a vertical wavy surface with variable thermal conductivity have been investigated. The governing boundary layer equations are first transformed into a non-dimensional form using suitable set of dimensionless variables. The resulting nonlinear system of partial differential equations are mapped into the domain of a vertical flat plate and then solved numerically employing the implicit finite difference method, known as Keller-box scheme. The numerical results of the surface shear stress in terms of skin friction coefficient and the rate of heat transfer in terms of local Nusselt number, the stream lines as well as the isotherms are shown graphically for a selection of parameters set consisting of thermal conductivity variation parameter, heat generation parameter Q, magnetic parameter M and Prandtl number Pr. Comparison of numerical results of present work with other published data has been shown in table.
