Prognostic Role of Preoperative Tricuspid Annular Plane Systolic excursion (TAPSe) in Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR) for Rheumatic Mitral Stenosis Patients

Tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion has been proposed as a simple and reproducible parameter for quantitative assessment of the right ventricular ejection fraction. The prognostic importance of preoperative TAPSe in patients with mitral valve replacement for rheumatic mitral stenosis patients is still under focused. Therefore, the objective of the study was to predict the outcome after MVR in rheumatic mitral stenosis patients in relation to preoperative TAPSe. This comparative cross-sectional study was conducted at the Department of Cardiac Surgery, National Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute. A total of 72 patients of rheumatic mitral stenosis patients who underwent mitral valve replacement were included in the study. They were divided into two groups: Group A and B. Group A included 36 patients with TAPSe 0.05) except for the preoperative TAPSe. Mean TAPSe of Group A was 13.17 (±1.40) and Group B was 18.61 (±1.57), the difference was statistically significant (p 0.05). Among the postoperative complications, including postoperative atrial fibrillation was higher in Group A (30.56%) than Group B (11.11%), mean ventilation time was higher in Group A (27.78%) than Group B (5.56%), length of intensive care was higher in Group A (33.33%) than Group B (11.12%), and hospital stay was higher in Group A (25.0%) than Group B (5.56%), (p er preoperative TASPe could be used as a prognostic tool for MVR in rheumatic mitral stenosis patients in our settings.

effect of Variety and Growth Regulator Concentration on Success of Air Layering in Plum

The experiment was conducted at the Regional Spices Research Center, BARI, Gazipur during June 2016 to October 2017 to evaluate the effect of genotype and growth regulator (IBA) on the success and performance of plum air layering. Air layering was done on two plum varieties (BARI Alubokhara-1 and PD Gaz 004) using seven levels of IBA concentration (viz. 0, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 ppm) under a complete randomized (factorial) design (CRD). Significant variation was observed on rooting, establishment and death of layers due to variety and IBA concentrations except rooting and separation time. The un-fruiting line PD Gaz 004 showed outstanding performance in rooting and survivability of layers over BARI Alubokhara-1. Poor rooting and lower establishment caused very high mortality of layers in BARI Alubokhara-1. Rooting and survivability, number of roots, length of roots and leaf production increased with the increasing levels of IBA concentration up to 5000 ppm. The maximum (10 out of 10) rooting success of layer with 65.83% and 59.17% establishment from PD Gaz004 was obtained when 3000 and 4000 ppm IBA was used, respectively. In BARI Alubokhara-1, the highest rooting success (3.08), establishment rate (29.42%), number of root (4.28/layer) and root length (5.08 cm) were recorded with 4000 ppm IBA concentration.

A value chain analysis is a detailed description of all the activities and services needed to turn a raw product into a marketable good for delivery to final *** mud crab business is considered by most marketing operators to be a profitable and viable business due to the high demand in the international *** the importance of mud crab fishery,there is no structured marketing facilities in *** research aim to analyze the socioeconomic condition of actors,the profitability of farming,mapping the institutional and non-institutional barriers,and provide a better understanding of the possibility of technological interventions in the value *** and quantitative data were collected through participatory rural appraisal tools that include 200 individual interviews,16 focus group discussions,and 24 key informant interviews conducted in south-west Bangladesh from July to December of *** mud crab value chain analysis revealed that the chain started with crab collection(cultivated and wild harvest),before sale to local vendors,and ended with exporters through several *** noted that most(±95%)exportable crab came from natural sources,with rest(±5%)from aquaculture *** average price(USD/kg)ranged from$10.59􀀀14.12 and$12.94􀀀19.42 for male crabs(grade:XXL),followed by$10.00􀀀11.77 and$11.77􀀀17.06 for female(grade:FF1)in domestic and international markets,*** the high profitability of these sectors,the livelihood of these stakeholders has remained relatively ***-pronged approaches,like a nursery or increasing farming and backyard seed production,and possible value addition at the farm level may help farmers.
