a.lergy is a. a.verse immunologic response of increa.ing preva.ence a.d severity in which immunoglobulin E pla.s a.pivota. role. Tota. IgE (tIgE) levels show wide va.ia.ions depending on va.ious fa.tors, such a. a.e, sex, ethnicity, a.d geogra.hic a.ea. This study set out to qua.tita.ively determine the serum tIgE levels in Ba.gla.eshi popula.ion who were clinica.ly suspected ca.es of a.lergic disea.es a.d to find out the a.socia.ion of tIgE level with their a.e a.d gender. This cross-sectiona. descriptive explora.ory study wa. conducted a. Biomed Dia.nostics La.ora.ory, Pa.tha.a.h, Dha.a. from Ma.ch 2021-September 2021. a.tota. of 402 blood sa.ples were collected from clinica.ly suspected ca.es of a.lergic disea.es. Qua.tita.ive detection of tIgE in serum wa. done by Immunoblot a.sa. ma.ufa.tured by Proteome Tech Inc. (PROTIa.M a.lergy-Q64S pa.el). a.ong 402 subjects, a.wide va.ia.ion of tIgE levels ra.ging from 5 to 2000 IU/ml wa. found but ma.ority of the study popula.ion (30.35%) showed tIgE levels within the ra.ge of 201 - 350 IU/ml. The study popula.ion a.ing 1 - 10 yea.s showed highest frequency (23.63%) in tIgE concentra.ions a.d the mea. tIgE level exhibited a.declining tendency with a. increa.e in a.e. Depending on gender there wa. no difference in tIgE levels. Determina.ion of tIgE level is impera.ive for screening a.lergic disea.es. The present study enlightened the distribution of tIgE levels a.d suggested tha. a.ong Ba.gla.eshi subjects irrespective of gender there is a. inverse rela.ionship between tIgE level a.d a.e.
