Salt stress is one of the major limitations to modern agriculture that negatively inﬂuences plant growth and *** tolerant cultivar can provide excellent solution to enhance stress tolerance with plantﬁtness to unfavorable ***,this study was aimed to screen salt tolerant sorghum genotypes through evaluating of different morphological,biochemical,and physiological attributes in response to salinity *** this study,we have been evaluated total six sorghum genotypes including Hybrid sorgo,Debgiri,BD-703,BD-706,BD-707,and BD-725 under salt stress(12 dS m^(-1) NaCl).The response variables included length and weight of root and shoot,root:shoot ratio(RSR),photosynthesis(A),transpiration rate(E),elemental concen-trations(K^(+),Na^(+) and K^(+)/Na^(+)),photochemical efﬁciency of photosystem II(F_(v)/F_(m)),water use efﬁciency(WUE)and pigment content(chlorophyll a,and b).The results revealed that saline environment signiﬁcantly reduced all response variables under study of sorghum genotypes,however,Hybrid sorgo remained unmatched by recording the maximum root and shoot *** same genotype recorded higher photosynthetic efﬁciency which was attributed to Na^(+) extrusion,K^(+) uptake and higher K^(+)/Na^(+) ratio(1.8 at stress),while these mechanisms were not fully active in rest of ***,this study also implies the involvement of proline in imparting tolerance against saline environment in Hybrid sorgo ***,BD-703 remained the most salt sensitive genotype as evident from the minimum morphological growth traits and the least biosynthesis of ***ﬁndings open new research avenues for salt stress alleviation by identifying elite salt-to-lerant genotypes of sorghum for breeding programs.

Ion-Acoustic Higher Order Non-Linear Structures in Quantum Dusty Plasma

The prominent features of higher order nonlinear ion-acoustic waves involving quantum corrections in an unmagnetized quantum dusty plasma are revisited with the theoretical framework of Hossain et al. [1]. The fluid model is demonstrated here by its constituent inertial ions, Fermi electrons with quantum effect, and immovable dust grain with negative charge. We have used the ideology of Gardner equation. The well-known RPM method is employed to derive the equation. Indeed, the basic features of quantum dust ion-acoustic Gardner solitons (GSs) are pronounced here. GSs are shown to exist for the value of dust to ion ratio around 2/3 which is valid for space plasma [2], and are different from those of K-dV (Korteweg-de Vries) solitons, which do not exist for the value around 2/3. The implications of our results are suitable for cosmological and astrophysical environments.

Effect of Variety and Growth Regulator Concentration on Success of Air Layering in Plum

The experiment was conducted at the Regional Spices Research Center, BARI, Gazipur during June 2016 to October 2017 to evaluate the effect of genotype and growth regulator (IBA) on the success and performance of plum air layering. Air layering was done on two plum varieties (BARI Alubokhara-1 and PD Gaz 004) using seven levels of IBA concentration (viz. 0, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 ppm) under a complete randomized (factorial) design (CRD). Significant variation was observed on rooting, establishment and death of layers due to variety and IBA concentrations except rooting and separation time. The un-fruiting line PD Gaz 004 showed outstanding performance in rooting and survivability of layers over BARI Alubokhara-1. Poor rooting and lower establishment caused very high mortality of layers in BARI Alubokhara-1. Rooting and survivability, number of roots, length of roots and leaf production increased with the increasing levels of IBA concentration up to 5000 ppm. The maximum (10 out of 10) rooting success of layer with 65.83% and 59.17% establishment from PD Gaz004 was obtained when 3000 and 4000 ppm IBA was used, respectively. In BARI Alubokhara-1, the highest rooting success (3.08), establishment rate (29.42%), number of root (4.28/layer) and root length (5.08 cm) were recorded with 4000 ppm IBA concentration.

Optical and electrical properties of crystalline indium tin oxide thin film deposited by vacuum evaporation technique

Indium tin oxide(ITO) thin film was deposited on glass substrate by means of vacuum evaporation technique and annealed at 200 ℃, 300℃ and 400 ℃ in air for 1 h. The characterization and properties of the deposited film samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy techniques. From the XRD patterns, it was found that the deposited thin film was of crystalline at an annealing temperature of 400℃. The crystalline phase was indexed as cubic structure with lattice constant and crystallite size of 0.511 nm and 40 nm, respectively. The SEM images showed that the films exhibited uniform surface morphology with well-defined spherical grains. The optical transmittance of ITO thin film annealed at 400 ℃ was improved from 44% to 84% in the wavelength range from 250 nm to 2 100 nm and an optical band gap was measured as 3.86 e V. Hall effect measurement was used to measure the resistivity and conductivity of the prepared film.

Background:Parkinson's disease(PD)is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting a large number of elderly people *** current therapies for PD are symptom-based;they do not provide a cure but improve the quality of *** dysfunction is the hallmark clinical feature of PD and oxidative stress and inflammation play a critical role in its *** is used for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy and is known to improve antioxidative defense mechanisms in the ***,in this study,we investigated the role of Epalrestat in the reserpine induced mouse model of ***:We used Swiss Albino mice for the PD model and tested for akinesia/bradykinesia,muscular rigidity,palpebral ptosis,and tremor,as well as conducting swim and open field *** samples were used to determine oxidative stress parameters and infiltration of immune ***:Epalrestat treatment significantly improved akinesia and bradykinesia,muscular dysfunctions,tremor level,and gait functions compared to the reserpine *** also improved the latency in the swim *** significantly reduced lipid peroxidation and NO concentration in different brain tissues and increased the activity of antioxidative enzymes,glutathione,catalase,and superoxide ***,Epalrestat reduced neuroinflammation by reducing the number of infiltrating immune ***:Eplarestat improves muscular dysfunction in PD by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.

Morphological and Molecular Characterizations of Country Bean (Lablab purpureus L.) Genotypes for Drought Tolerance

Country bean, Lablab purpureus (L.) is considered one of the most important leguminous crops, but their cultivation under drought stress condition encounters challenges. In this study, an experiment has been conducted among 30 genotypes under drought condition to explore morphological diversity of qualitative and quantitative, biochemical, molecular analysis. The study identified significant variations in eight traits among the genotypes examined, with phenotypic variance exceeding genotypic variance, indicating both genetic and environmental influences. High heritability and genetic advance were observed in primary, secondary, and tertiary branch lengths, suggesting these traits are likely controlled by additive gene effects, making them effective targets for selection. Principal component analysis identified three components that made a substantial contribution, accounting for approximately 73.06% of the overall quantitative variations. Among the quantitative traits, the highest coefficient of variation (CV%) has been found in number of flowers (55.05%). While number of primary branches, primary branch length, number of secondary branches, secondary branch length, number of tertiary branches, tertiary branch length has individually more than 20% of CV%. The genotypes have been grouped into three clusters based on quantitative traits. Analysis of protein reveals that the genotypes of DS28 and DS29 have higher protein content than other genotypes. Dehydrogenase responsive genotypes have been found on DS28 and DS29 from the molecular analysis. The results suggest that the genotypes DS28 and DS29 could contribute as genetic resource of high protein content and DREB responsive, and the eight quantitative traits of 30 genotypes could be used for further breeding programme.

Morphological, Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Hill Forest Soils at Chittagong University, Bangladesh

Forty five soil samples were collected from the four pedons of the hill areas at Chittagong University based on the depth of soil horizon. Soil profiles on hill top were relatively well developed and belonged to Ultisols according to USDA soil Taxonomy. The profiles at the piedmont were relatively young soils and classified as Inceptisols and Entisols. The soils of all profiles were characterized by coarse texture (38% to 73%, sand fraction), high bulk density (1.15 to 1.32 Mg·m-3), low organic-C content (0.26% to 1.73%), acid soil reaction ( varied from 4.44 to 5.52 and pHKCl from 3.57 to 4.90). Soils in all pedons were poor in exchangeable bases and base saturation. The CEC values ranged from 9.12 cmolc·kg-1 to 14.5 cmolc·kg-1 while ECEC varied from 1.96 to 4.78 cmolc·kg-1. The exchangeable Al (aluminum) concentration ranged from 0.41 to 0.66 cmolc·kg-1. Exchangeable acidity level ranged from 0.74 to 1.25 cmolc·kg-1. Exchangeable Al and aluminum saturation increased with depth and their concentrations were below the toxic range for tree stands. The study revealed that more young soils formed on the piedmont sites had somewhat better properties as compared to matured hill top soils. The variation in physico-chemical properties of the soils seemed to be influenced by the topography to a greater extent in the studied area.

Assessment of Urban Physical Seismic Vulnerability Using the Combination of AHP and TOPSIS Models: A Case Study of Residential Neighborhoods of Mymensingh City, Bangladesh

Mymensingh, one of the oldest municipalities of Bangladesh, is at great risk against earthquakes because three major faults viz. Dauki fault, Madhupur fault, and Sylhet-Assam fault are located around it, and possesses liquefaction susceptible soil type. The city has great significance from the economic and administrative point of view and recently declared as the 8th administrative division of Bangladesh which directly stimulates the unplanned future expansion. Considering the potentiality of haphazard development and high seismic risk, it is crucial to assess the seismic vulnerability for taking the judicious decision regarding risk reduction measures for the city. The study combines Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution method (TOPSIS) and Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) models to assess the seismic vulnerability of residential neighborhoods of Mymensingh city as the probability of death and damage is remarkable in residential neighborhoods than other land use types. A combined quantitative methodology of AHP-TOPSIS is used in this study to quantify 13 important qualitative and quantitative factors of earthquake vulnerability, decided on expert opinions. The data of 13 vulnerability factors are collected from the Mymensingh Strategic Development Plan (MSDP, 2011-2031) database, done under Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP)-II during 2012-2014. Geographic Information System is used in this study to analyze and mapping of seismic vulnerability. Results indicated that 37 residential neighborhoods are very highly vulnerable, 55 neighborhoods are highly vulnerable, 75 neighborhoods are moderately vulnerable and 74 neighborhoods are in the low vulnerable category.

背景在这项研究中,我们试图确定Ortho-Bridge System（OBS）髓内钉固定术在治疗前臂骨折中的疗效。这项技术已被证明成功地治疗了身体长骨的骨折:胫骨、腓骨、股骨和肱骨。它在治疗前臂骨折方面的功效仍然存在争议,因为更多的骨科医生倾向于使用钉板系统治疗尺桡骨骨折方法我们调查了一组42名患有桡骨或尺骨骨折的患者。他们使用髓内钉技术进行治疗,并随访直至愈合。然后使用Cooney评分标准评估愈合情况。结果手术时间25-76分钟,平均51分钟。所有病例均随访10～16个月,平均随访13个月。在所有病例受试者中都有显著的骨愈合,在4到8个月之间变化,平均愈合时间为6个月。根据Cooney评分前臂疗效标准评价这些结果,我们可以推断结果38例为优,3例为良。结论Ortho-bridge System髓内钉固定技术已被证明在治疗前臂桡骨和尺骨骨折方面具有很高的疗效。

锂离子电池等效电路模型研究是电动汽车锂离子电池的领域的热门研究课题,学者们提出了从简单到复杂的各种等效电路模型。简单的模型无法模拟电池的动态特性,而复杂的模型很难应用于实时系统。目前,对锂离子电池的等效电路模型进行了一些系统的比较研究。文献中常用的代表性一阶电阻-电容（RC）模型和高阶等效电路模型。通过使用改进的扩展卡尔曼滤波算法进行实验和仿真,可以准确估算锂离子电池的荷电状态,该算法现在也很流行。对于研究而言,电池模型的选择非常重要,因为它决定了要辨识的参数以及实现的难易程度。各种电池模型都试图简化所使用的电路,并简化电池管理系统中的电池状态,估算荷电状态以实现高效性能以及可靠及时的信息。本文结合改进的扩展卡尔曼滤波方法和电池高阶等效电路模型,动态估算了电池的荷电状态。首先,建立适合荷电状态估计的电池模型。然后,辨识了相应的电池充电模型参数和放电实验模型参数。通过开展开路电压实验和混合脉冲功率特性实验将实验数据用于参数化系统。利用来自实验数据的效果和测量的输入,可以在Simulink/MATLAB中对电池进行建模和仿真。在同一算法中,传统等效电路模型与建议的高阶电气等效电路模型一起使用,以确保模型的有效性。比较了实验和仿真的结果,结果表明,使用具有改进的EKF的高阶等效电路模型,其收敛速度快,更稳定,并且在荷电状态估计中具有较高的精度,精度带有边际误差。使用改进的EKF算法基于传统等效电路模型估计的最大荷电状态误差为2.96%,精度为97.04%,使用改进的扩展卡尔曼滤波算法基于建立的高阶等效模型的最大误差为1.83%,精度为98.17%。因此,本文采用的高阶等效电路模型及改进的扩展卡尔曼滤波算法与传统模型相比,效率更高,对精确的荷电状态估计更高效。
