The advances of computational methods and tools can greatly support other areas in doing tasks from the most tedious or repetitive to the most *** this paper,these advances were manipulated in civil structures maintenance specifically in pipeline corrosion *** paper describes mechanize method developed to improved the quality of In-line inspection（ILI） data by automatically detect and quantify important parameters for future prediction of corrosion *** focal process in this system includes data conversion,data filtering,parameter tolerance or sizing configuration,matching,and data trimming.A sensitivity analysis using linear regression method was used to correlates defects from one inspection to the *** and advantage gain from this mechanize system is threefold:timeliness,accuracy and consistencies in data sampling.

The Essence of Accommodating Older Adults into the Social Care Sector in Malaysia

Population ageing puts pressure on the workforce and increase the demands for aged *** demographic shifts have made the issue of healthier workers,especially those of advanced age and physically related job scopes,a fundamental aspect to employing older ***,this study aimed to explore the best practices to employ older adults into the social care *** social care sector was chosen in view of the nature of job and declining demand among younger workers.A qualitative study was conducted involving series of focus group discussions(FGD)with social care workers of long-term care centers in the peninsular *** was collected using a validated and pre-tested semi-structured interview *** focus group discussions and in-depth interviews were lasted between 45 min to 1 h.A total of 57 workers were consented for the study which was divided into young and old workers based on the mean age of 41.43[SD±9.97]years *** content of the interviews was transcribed verbatim and thematic analysis was performed to inductively identify the coding and themes within the data related to the challenges employing older workers into the social care *** categories of coding were identified(individual,environmental and management factors),leading to the identification of two important themes which are healthy workplace and work *** findings indicate the needs for work culture transformations to cultivate healthy working environment and freedom of speech particularly among the older workers.

Proapoptotic activities of Oroxylum indicum leave extract in HeLa cells

Objective: To examine the proapoptotic properties of Oroxylum indicum methanol extract on cervical cancer cells. Methods: Methylene blue assay was used to determine the IC50 value of the extract. Western blotting assays were done to analyze the expression of HPV oncoproteins (HPV18 E6 and E7) and apoptotic molecules (caspase-3 and caspase-8). Reverse transcriptase PCR assays were performed to determine genetic alteration of tumor suppressors p53 and pRb and apoptosis markers Fas and FasL. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was done to determine the expression of cytokine levels (IL-6 and IL-12). Results: The determination of IC50 value indicated a higher anti-proliferative activity of the extract compared to cisplatin. After 24 hours of treatment, Western blot analysis showed that treated HeLa cells exhibited a significant down-regulation of HPV18 oncoproteins E6 and E7, and a significant induction of caspase-8 and caspase-3 activation level. Meanwhile, the mRNA expressions of p53, pRb, Fas and FasL were significantly upregulated in treated cells. Moreover, ELISA showed an increased IL-12 and decreased IL-6 production after Oroxylum indicum treatment. Conclusions: The methanol extract of Oroxylum indicum has an anti-proliferative activity and proapoptotic potential. It induces localized-immunity improvements by altering cytokine production in HPV-positive cervical cancer cells.
