This paper analyses the impact of square wave pulse voltage deadtime on the partial discharge(PD)and the lifetime of turn-to-turn insulation.A bipolar repetitive pulse voltage with a deadtime of 0–10μs is produced using double half-bridge solid-state switches having push–pull technology controlled by a field-programmable gate *** mechanism of the discharge process at rising and falling edges of the pulse voltage before and after deadtime is analysed in *** discharge amplitude and PD probability at the rising/falling edges of the voltage waveform increase as the deadtime increases from 0 to 10μs due to the remanent *** number of PD and their intensity is higher at the first rising/falling edges of pulse voltage as compared to the second rising/falling edges for all deadtimes 0–10μ*** the deadtime increases beyond 2μs,the number of PDs increases and concentrates at a specific phase angle of rising/falling *** localise discharges degrade the insulation material and reduce its *** study helps to identify the inverter-fed motor insulation faults due to *** can provide guidelines to motor insulation designers to determine the limit value of deadtime to compensate PD and ensure the safer operation of such motors.

Medicinal plants of Moraceae family have been well-recognized traditionally due to their versatile applications in various fields including agriculture, cosmetic and food as well as in pharmaceutical industries. Their biomedical and medicinal importance is reflected from their broad range of pharmacological activities for treatment of various inflammatory conditions, cancer, infectious diseases, and gastrointestinal disorders. The present review was aimed to summarize and critically discuss the biomedical implications of Morus species, their bioactive compounds, and phytochemicals. Bioactivity guided fractionation of these medicinal plants revealed that different types of bioactive phytochemicals and secondary metabolites such as steroids, saponins, alkaloids, glycosides and phenolic compounds including terpenoids, flavonoids, anthocyanins and tannins were present. The critical analysis of the literature revealed that the aqueous, methanolic, and ethanolic extracts of Morus species and their bioactive compounds exhibit remarkable anti-oxidative,anti-diabetic, anti-stress, nephroprotective, antimicrobial, anti-mutagenic, anticancer,anxiolytic, hepatoprotective, anthelmintic, antimicrobial, immune-modulatory and cholesterol lowering effects. Based on the literature review and bioactivity guided investigation of Morus species and their phytomedicinal effects, we anticipate that these herbal products hold excellent potential for future research.

Occasionally, the Whipple shields are used for the protection of a space station and a satellite against the meteoroids and orbital debris. In the Whipple shields each layer of the shield depletes part of high speed projectile en- ergy either by breaking the projectile or absorbing its energy. Similarly, this investigation uses the Whipple shields against the shaped charge to protect the light armour such as infantry fighting vehicles with a little modification in their design. The unsteady multiple interactions of shaped charge jet with the Whipple shield package against the steady homogeneous target is scrutinized to optimize the shield thickness. Sim- ulations indicate that the shield thickness of 0.75 mm offers an optimum configuration against the shaped charge. Exper- iments also support this evidence.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of allagic acid treatment on the cell viability of human prostate cancer ***:Ellagic acid(10-100 mol/L) treatment(48 h) of human prostate carcinoma PC3 cells was found to result in a dose-dependent inhibition of cell growth and apoptosis of PC3 cells as assessed by MTT assay,western *** cytometry and confocal ***:We observed that ellagic acid treatment of PC3 cells resulted in a dose dependent inhibition of cell growth/cell *** ellagic acid caused cell growth inhibition was found to be accompanied by induction of apoptosis,as assessed by the cleavage of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP) and morphological ***,induction of apoptosis accompanied a decrease in the levels of antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2 and increase in proapoptotic protein *** shifting the Bax:Bcl-2 ratio in favor of *** acid treatment of PC3 cells was also found to result in significant activation of caspases,as shown by the dose dependent decrease in the protein expression of procaspase-3,-6.-8 and -*** ellagic acid-mediated induction of apoptosis was significantly(80%-90%) inhibited by the caspase inhibitor N-benzyloxycarbonyl-Val-Ala-Asp(OMe)-fluoromethylketone(Z-VAD-FMK).Thus these data suggested an essential role of caspases in ellagic acid-mediated apoptosis of PC3 ***:It is tempting to suggest that consumption of tropical pigmented fruits and vegetables could be an effective strategy to combat prostate cancer.

Optimizing Fully Convolutional Encoder-Decoder Network for Segmentation of Diabetic Eye Disease

In the emerging field of image segmentation,Fully Convolutional Networks(FCNs)have recently become ***,their effectiveness is intimately linked with the correct selection and fine-tuning of hyperparameters,which can often be a cumbersome manual *** main aim of this study is to propose a more efficient,less labour-intensive approach to hyperparameter optimization in FCNs for segmenting fundus *** this end,our research introduces a hyperparameter-optimized Fully Convolutional Encoder-Decoder Network(FCEDN).The optimization is handled by a novel Genetic Grey Wolf Optimization(G-GWO)*** algorithm employs the Genetic Algorithm(GA)to generate a diverse set of initial *** leverages Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO)to fine-tune these positions within the discrete search *** on the Indian Diabetic Retinopathy Image Dataset(IDRiD),Diabetic Retinopathy,Hypertension,Age-related macular degeneration and Glacuoma ImageS(DR-HAGIS),and Ocular Disease Intelligent Recognition(ODIR)datasets showed that the G-GWO method outperformed four other variants of GWO,GA,and PSO-based hyperparameter optimization *** proposed model achieved impressive segmentation results,with accuracy rates of 98.5%for IDRiD,98.7%for DR-HAGIS,and 98.4%,98.8%,and 98.5%for different sub-datasets within *** results suggest that the proposed hyperparameter-optimized FCEDN model,driven by the G-GWO algorithm,is more efficient than recent deep-learning models for image segmentation *** thereby presents the potential for increased automation and accuracy in the segmentation of fundus images,mitigating the need for extensive manual hyperparameter adjustments.

Investigation on solidified/stabilized behavior of marine soil slurry by lime-activated incinerated sewage sludge ash-ground granulated blast furnace slag under multifactor conditions

This study aims to evaluate the possibility of reusing treated marine clayey soils by stabilization/solidification(S/S)technology as geomaterial in reclamation projects from the aspects of engineering strength,chemical modification and environmental risk *** lime-activated incinerated sewage sludge ash(ISSA)together with ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBS)was employed as the *** multi-controlling factors including water content,curing time,salinity,and chemical compositions of mixing solution were taken into account to identify the S/S treated Hong Kong marine deposit(HKMD)slurry based on the strength tests,pH measurement,thermo-gravimetric(TG)analysis,X-ray diffractometer(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive spectrometry(SEM-EDS)and toxicity characteristic leaching procedure(TCLP)tests,*** results show that the S/S treatment using lime-activated ISSA-GGBS can effectively enhance the strength of marine soil at the initial water content of 110%and 200%.The water content and curing time have a significant impact on the S/S treated *** pH of treated soils is higher than 11.1,which proves an alkaline environment for the reactions in the treated soil.A special case is the treated HKMD at 200%water content hydrated by MgCl_(2)solution,which has a low pH of 10.23 and maintains a slurry *** on the TCLP results,the leaching concentration of heavy metals from S/S treated HKMD is environmentally safe and meets Hong Kong standard for reusing treated soil with a low level of<0.2 mg/*** content of main products such as calcium/magnesium silicate hydrate,ettringite or Friedel's salt depends on the chemical additions(*** water,seawater,NaCl and Na_(2)SO_(4)).The products in the specimens mixed with MgCl_(2)solutions are mainly composed of Mg(OH)_(2),M-S-H and MgCO_(3),which is distinct with the neoformations in the other ***,this study proves t
