Reservoir quality evaluation using sedimentological and petrophysical characterization of deep-water turbidites:A case study of Tariki Sandstone Member,Taranaki Basin,New Zealand

The current study aims to ascertain the reservoir characteristics of the Tariki Sandstone Member of the Otaraoa Formation,Taranaki Basin,New *** study was carried out by integrating the comprehensive petrophysical evaluation,sedimentological and petrographic studies,as well as well log analysis by using data from six *** porosity-permeability relationship is used to divide the samples of the Tariki Sandstone Member into reservoir and non-reservoir facies.A thorough petrophysical analysis shows that the maximum porosity values fluctuate between 16.6%and 22.1%,while permeability ranges from 102 mD to 574 mD,which indicates fair to good reservoir ***,the Tariki sandstone represents six hydraulic flow units with a high reservoir quality index and flow zone indicator representing good reservoir *** pore size varies between nano and megapores with dominant *** on the sedimentological and petrographic analysis,the Tariki Sandstone Member is classified as a combination of subarkose,arkose,and lithic arkose with fine to medium and moderately to moderately well-sorted *** main diagenetic factor affecting the reservoir quality is cementation,which occupied all the pores with *** the bright side,the secondary pores are developed due to the dissolution of calcite cement and few *** well log analysis demonstrates the presence of low clay volume ranging from 0.3%to 3.1%,fair to good effective porosity values between 13.6%and 15.9%,net pay thickness from 18.29 m to 91.44 m,and hydrocarbon saturation from 56%to 77.9%.The findings from this study revealed that the Tariki Sandstone Member possesses fair to good reservoir quality and hydrocarbon potential,which indicate submarine fans as appealing hydrocarbon *** study can be used in similar depositional environments elsewhere in the world.

A systematic study on mycochemical profiles, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities of 30 varieties of Jew’s ear(Auricularia auricula-judae)

The health-promoting properties and chemical profiles of 30 Jew’s ear mushroom varieties were investigated. The antioxidant properties were determined by ferric reducing antioxidant power(FRAP), 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) free radical scavenging, 2,2’-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)(ABTS) free radical scavenging, and metal chelating ability(MCA) assays, while phenolic profiles were determined by total phenol content(TPC) and total flavonoid content(TFC) colorimetric assays. Total carbohydrate, β-glucan, and melanin contents were determined by colorimetric methods. 5’-Nucleotides, vitamin D_(2), ergosterol, and ergothioneine contents were determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). Anti-inflammation activities of Jew’s ear were evaluated by the colorimetric protease inhibitory method. The results showed that Jew’s ear mushrooms possessed substantial phenolics and antioxidant properties. All the Jew’s ear varieties contain high amount of total carbohydrate, β-glucan, reducing sugar, melanin, pectin, vitamin D2, ergosterol, and ergothioneine. The current findings could provide scientific information for breeders to nurture desired varieties and for food industry to develop new health promoting products.

Exploring the unique characteristics of environmental sustainability in China: Navigating future challenges

With the pace of global sustainable development,China has improved significantly in tackling environmental problems such as carbon emissions,climate change,air,water,and soil pollution,and wildlife *** study shows that despite China’s economic policy reform,several issues persist,including inequality between society and region,depletion and waste of resources,and damage to the natural *** study ob‐served that China shuts low-level oil and coal-based power plants to prevent air pollution,promote a zero carbon world,and reduce carbon intensity to 18.8%.The country also increased forest coverage by nearly 23.4%,declared five national parks in 2021,cleaned 98%of polluted water bodies,and improved the air qual‐ity in many big cities.A country like China has shown deep concern for environmental sustainability and has formulated many policies,laws,and regulations to prevent and conserve the environment and biodiversity and ensure sustainable economic *** study argues that the Chinese concept of ecological civili‐zation construction adheres to global sustainable development as both pursuits of achieving sustainable conser‐vation of natural resources and improving the livelihoods of the ***,this paper reviews China’s policies toward ecological civilization(EC),which aim to create a beautiful China by 2035 on the outline of the UN Sustainable Development Goals *** present study also addresses the issues the Chinese govern‐ment faces while implementing environmental sustainability.

Abundant closed-form wave solutions to the simplified modified Camassa-Holm equation

The simplified modified Camassa-Holm (SMCH) equation is an important nonlinear model equation for identifying various wave phenomena in ocean engineering and science. The new auxiliary equation (NAE) method has been applied to the SMCH equation. Base on the method, we have obtained some novel an- alytical solutions such as hyperbolic, trigonometric, exponential, and rational function solutions of the SMCH equation. For appropriate values of parameters, three dimensional (3D) and two dimensional (2D) graphs are designed by Mathematica. The stability of the model is also discussed in this manuscript. The dynamic and physical behaviors of the solutions derived from the SMCH equation have been ex- tensively discussed by these plots. All our solutions are indispensable for understanding the nonlinear phenomena of dispersive waves that are important in ocean engineering and science. In addition, our results are essential to clarify the various oceanographic applications containing ocean gravity waves, offshore rig in water, energy associated with a moving ocean wave and numerous other related phenom- ena. Finally, the obtained solutions are helpful for studying wave interactions in many new structures and high-dimensional models.

Identification of visible colored dissolved organic matter in biological and tertiary municipal effluents using multiple approaches including PARAFAC analysis

This study provided insights into the persistent yellowish color in biological and tertiary effluents of municipal wastewater through a multi-characterization approach and fluorescence excitation-emission matrix-parallel factor(EEM-PARAFAC)*** characterization was performed on three to five full-scale municipal wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),including differential log-transformed absorbance(DLn A)spectroscopy,resin fractionation,size-exclusion chromatography for apparent molecular weight analysis(SECAMW),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)*** acids(HPOA)were abundant in visible colored dissolved organic matter(DOM).The SEC-AMW result showed that the molecular weight of the colored substances in the secondary effluents is mainly distributed in the range of 2–3 k *** XPS analysis,C-O/C-N and pyrrolic/pyridonic(N-5)were found to be positively correlated with *** component models were built on biological(two components)and tertiary effluent(three components)and the correlation analysis revealed that PARAFAC component 2 in biological effluent(BE-C2)and component 1in tertiary effluent(TE-C1),which were ascribed to Hydrophobic acids and Humic acid-like,were the responsible visible colored DOM components cause yellowish *** addition,component similarity testing found that the identified visible colored DOM PARAFAC BE-C2,and PARAFAC TE-C1 were identical(0.96)in physicochemical properties,with 4%removal efficacy on average,compared with 11%for invisible colored *** implied that tertiary effluents containing colorants(TE-C1)were resistant to degradation/removal using different disinfection and filtration processes in advanced *** sheds light on many physicochemical aspects of PARAFAC-identified visible colored DOM components and provides spectral data to build an online monitoring system.

Organic Amendments Improve Plant Morpho-Physiology and Antioxidant Metabolism in Mitigating Drought Stress in Bread Wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)

Due to the unpredictable climate change,drought stress is being considered as one of the major threats to crop ***(Triticum aestivum *** Gom-26)being a dry season crop frequently faces scarcity of water and results in a lower ***,this experiment aims to explore the role of different organic amendments(OAs)in mitigating drought stress-induced *** pot experiment consisted of different organic amendments ***,vermicompost and poultry manure@0.09 kg m^(−2)soil,biochar@2.5%w/w soil and chitosan@1%w/w soil which was imposed on the plants grown under both well-watered and drought *** showed that drought stress reduced plant height(15%),SPAD value(16%),relative water content(13%),number of spikelet spike^(−1)(17%),number of grains spike^(−1)(12%),and 100-grain weight(18%).Organic amendments act as a protectant and reduce drought stress-induced damages by enhancing the morpho-physiological and yield *** enhanced SPAD value by 18%,number of spikelets spike^(−1)by 20%,number of grains spike^(−1)by 17%,whereas poultry manure increased plant height by 16%under drought condition compared to control *** other OAs applied,vermicompost was proved to be capable of reducing the higher lipid peroxidation and proline content raised by drought *** stress-induced increment of catalase,ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione reductase activities were also efficiently modulated by the organic amendment *** present study concluded that OAs play significant roles in alleviating drought stressinduced damages by improving the morpho-physiological attributes and among the different types of OAs used vermicompost performed better which in addition ceased the production of reactive oxygen species.
