Effect of Processing and Cultivar on thermo-Chemical Properties of Australian-Grown Hemp Hurd(Cannabis sativa l.)

this study explored the thermo-chemical properties of industrial hemp hurd with different provenances,maturity stages,and retting *** findings were then compared to hemp hurd used in the fabrication of citric acid-bonded ultra-low-density hemp hurd ***-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(Py-GC/MS),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIr),and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)were employed to document the variability of the hurd and comprehend the potential impact on biobased composite *** choice of cultivar,maturity stage,and processing modality significantly influenced the chemical composition,presence of functional groups,and thermal stability of the ***-GC/MS revealed substantial variations in the lignin-to-carbohydrate(l/C)ratio,along with the absence of fatty acids in certain *** FTIr signals confirmed consistent functional groups,differences in peak intensities were indicative of carbohydrate variations associated with maturity and retting duration,impacting the availability of hydroxyl groups for,i.e.,interparticle bonding in citric acid-based ***,it was observed that shorter retting durations initially enhanced the thermal resistance,but prolonged retting led to accelerated degradation,significantly reducing the hurd’s residual *** findings indicated notable differences among the samples,emphasizing the importance of investigating variables such as provenance/cultivar,maturity,and processing *** assessment is essential to ensure effective agronomic practices that align the raw material characteristics with the specific requirements of intended applications,such as the fabrication of biobased hemp hurd composites.

Coal-gangue object detection has attracted substantial attention because it is the core of realizing vision-based intelligent and green coal separation. However, most existing studies have been focused on laboratory datasets and prioritized model lightweight. this makes the coal-gangue object detection challenging to adapt to the complex and harsh scenes of real production environments. therefore, our project collected and labeled image datasets of coal and gangue under real production conditions from a coal preparation plant. We then designed a one-stage object model, named STATNet, following the “backbone-neck-head” architecture with the aim of enhancing the detection accuracy under industrial coal preparation scenarios. the proposed model utilizes Swin Transformer as backbone module to extract multi-scale features, improved path augmentation feature pyramid network (iPAFPN) as neck module to enrich feature fusion, and task-aligned head (TAH) as head module to mitigate conflicts and misalignments between classification and localization tasks. Experimental results on a real-world industrial dataset demonstrate that the proposed STATNet model achieves an impressive AP50 of 89.27 %, significantly surpassing several state-of-the-art baseline models by 2.02 % to 5.58 %. Additionally, it exhibits stronger robustness in resisting image corruption and perturbation. these findings demonstrate its promising prospects in practical coal and gangue separation applications.

Convergent plate boundary environments for formation of≥3800 Ma mafic-ultramafic assemblages(Isua area,Greenland):Implications for early global geodynamics

In the gneiss terrane on the south side of the Eoarchean Isua supracrustal belt,ultramafic rocks with relict abyssal peridotite mineralogy(Bennett et al.,2002;Friend et al.,2002;Nutman et al.,2007;rollinson,2007;van de löcht et al.,2020),layered gabbros with cumulate ultramafic rocks,basalts and associated siliceous sedimentary rocks were tectonically-imbricated,prior to and during intrusion of ca.3800 Ma *** with3800 Ma basalts in the Outer Arc Group of the nearby Isua supracrustal belt,the composition of all these mafic rocks(e.g.,th-Hf-Nb systematics,high th/Yb,Ba/Nb,Ba/Yb ratios and negative Nb and Ti anomalies)shows affinity with modern suprasubduction rocks whose genesis involved fluid fluxing of the upper ***,the majority of these samples have Ba/Nb and Ba/Yb values less than in modern island arc magmas,but similar to many backarc basin magmas(e.g.,Pearce and Stern,2006).It is unknown whether.these ca.3800 Ma mafic rocks are,(i)arc rocks where the Ba/Nb and Ba/Yb signatures reflect lower surficial Ba in Eoarchean oceanic settings,or(ii)in direct comparison with Phanerozoic suites,these signatures reflect a back-arc setting with interplay between fluid fluxing and decompressional *** tectonic intercalation of upper mantle with lower and upper crustal rocks,combined with the fluid-fluxing influences seen in chemistry of all the mafic rocks is best accommodated in a compressional Eoarchean convergent plate boundary setting within a mobile-lid *** stagnant lid scenarios of crust formation,if operative,must have co-existed or alternated with mobile-lid regimes by 3800 Ma.

Methionine(Met) is an essential and first limiting amino acid in the poultry diet that plays a significant role in chicken embryonic development and growth. the present study examined the effect of in ovo injection of Dl-Met and l-Met sources and genotypes on chicken embryonic-intestinal development and health. Fertilized eggs of the two genotypes, TETrA-Sl layer hybrid(TSl)—commercial layer hybrid and Hungarian Partridge colored hen breed(HPC)—a native genotype, were randomly distributed into four treatments for each genotype. the treatment groups include the following: 1) control non-injected eggs(NoIn); 2) saline-injected(SaIn); 3) Dl-Met injected(DlM); and 4) l-Met injected(lM). the in ovo injection was carried out on 17.5 d of embryonic development; after hatching, eight chicks per group were sacrificed, and the jejunum was extracted for analysis. the results showed that both DlM and lM groups had enhanced intestinal development as evidenced by increased villus width, villus height, and villus area(P red to the control. the DlM group had significantly reduced crypt depth, glutathione(GSH) content, glutathione S-transferase 3 alpha(GST3), occludin(OClN) gene expression and increased villus height to crypt depth ratio in the TSl genotype than the lM group(P the HPC genotype has overexpressed insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF1) gene, tricellulin(MD2), occludin(OClN),superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1), and GST3 genes than the TSl genotype(P lusion, these findings showed that in ovo injection of Met enhanced intestinal development, and function, with genotypes responding differently under normal conditions. Genotypes also influenced the expression of intestinal antioxidants, tight junction, and growth-related genes.

Introduction: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the most widespread sexually transmitted infection in the world. Today, there is growing evidence that HPV can be transmitted early in life, and one potential route is mother-to-child transmission. Data on this route of HPV transmission are scarce in Africa and particularly in Burkina Faso, where no data on the subject are yet available. the aim of our study was to estimate the rate of mother-to-child transmission of HPV infection and to identify circulating genotypes. Methodology: Cervico-uterine samples were collected from 100 full-term pregnant women and, buccal samples were obtained from their newborns at Hopital Saint Camille de Ouagadougou (HOSCO) by the specialist physician. HPV DNA amplification and genotyping were performed by PCr followed by hybridization using the HPV Direct Flow Chips kit, detecting 36 genotypes including 18 high-risk and 18 low-risk. results: the prevalence of HPV in newborns was 8% (8/100). Six (6) HPV-positive neonates had HPV-positive mothers, while 2 HPV-positive neonates had HPV-negative mothers. the vertical transmission rate was 26.09% (6/23). Mother-newborn genotypes were concordant. However, the genotype profile of the newborns was more restricted than that of the mothers. Conclusion: HPV DNA was found in 8% of newborns in our study. the genotype profile of the mother-newborn pair was concordant. Asymptomatic HPV infection in a pregnant woman could constitute a risk factor for vertical transmission.

Genetic susceptibility to metabolic associated fatty liver disease(MAFlD)is complex and poorly *** characterization of the genetic background of hepatic fat content would provide insights into disease etiology and causality of risk *** performed genome-wide association study(GWAS)on two noninvasive definitions of hepatic fat content:magnetic resonance imaging proton density fat fraction(MrI-PDFF)in 16,050 participants and fatty liver index(FlI)in 388,701 participants from the United Kingdom(UK)Biobank(UKBB).Heritability,genetic overlap,and similarity between hepatic fat content phenotypes were analyzed,and replicated in 10,398 participants from the University Medical Center Groningen(UMCG)Genetics lifelines Initiative(UGlI).Meta-analysis of GWASs of MrI-PDFF in UKBB revealed five statistically significant loci,including two novel genomic loci harboring CrEB3l1(rs72910057-T,P=5.40E−09)and GCM1(rs1491489378-T,P=3.16E−09),respectively,as well as three previously reported loci:PNPlA3,TM6SF2,and *** of FlI in UKBB identified 196 genome-wide significant loci,of which 49 were replicated in UGlI,with top signals in ZPr1(P=3.35E−13)and FTO(P=2.11E−09).Statistically significant genetic correlation(rg)between MrI-PDFF(UKBB)and FlI(UGlI)GWAS results was found(rg=0.5276,P=1.45E−03).Novel MrI-PDFF genetic signals(CrEB3l1 and GCM1)were replicated in the FlI *** identified two novel genes for MrI-PDFF and 49 replicable loci for *** a difference in hepatic fat content assessment between MrI-PDFF and FlI,a substantial similar genetic architecture was *** is identified as an easy and reliable approach to study hepatic fat content at the population level.

Introduction: Cervical cancer is a public health concern and is mainly caused by Human papillomaviruses (HPV). In many parts of the world, studies are being carried out to understand the different genotypes to better tackle this issue. We conducted a study to determine the prevalence of HPV genotypes in women with chronic hepatitis B or C infection, co-infected or not with HIV, treated at the Hôpital Saint Camille in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). Methods: this study was conducted from April to July 2023, including 100 women in gastroenterology at Hôpital Saint Camille. A questionnaire on their socio-demographic and life style was administrated;and endocervical samples were collected using sterile swabs and then sent to Centre of Biomolecular research Pietro Annigoni (CErBA). HPV molecular detection and genotyping were performed by PCr and hybridization using the HPV Direct Flow Chips kit. Data were analysis using chi square test or Fischer’s exact test with a significance threshold for p results: the prevalence of HPV infection was 28% (28/100) on the sample of women tested. the most frequent genotypes were HPV 52 (8.33%), followed by HPV 18 and 68 (6.25% each) for high-risk HPVs, and HPV 6, 44/55 and 62/81 (8.33% each) for low-risk HPVs. Conclusion: this study, the first of its kind in Burkina Faso on this group of the population, reveals that the most frequent genotypes found in this study are not included in the vaccine available in Burkina Faso (Gardasil®4).
