Solid state reaction method was used to prepare high temperature superconductor with a nominal composition Tl2-xHgxSr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ (0 ≤ x ≤ 1). The effect of quenching on the superconducting properties has been investigated by preparing two sets of samples at 1133 K for 3 hrs. The superconducting properties of the samples have been examined by electrical measurements. It is found that a partial substitution for Tl by Hg increases the formation of high-Tc phase and increases its Tc. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern analyses have shown a tetragonal structure, and there are at least two superconducting phases.

The annual cycle of the thickness and temperature of landfast sea ice in the East Siberian Sea has been examined using a one-dimensional thermodynamic model. The model was calibrated for the year August 2012-July 2013, forced using the data of the Russian weather station Kotel＇ny Island and ECMWF reanalyses. Thermal growth and decay of ice were reproduced well, and the maximum annual ice thickness and breakup day became 1.64 m and the end of July. Oceanic heat flux was 2 W.m^-2 in winter and raised to 25 W.m^-2 in summer, albedo was 0.3-0.8 depending on the surface type （snow/ice and wet/dry）. The model outcome showed sensitivity to the albedo, air temperature and oceanic heat flux. The modelled snow cover was less than 10 cm having a small influence on the ice thickness. In situ sea ice thickness in the East Siberian Sea is rarely available in publications. This study provides a method for quantitative ice thickness estimation by modelling. The result can be used as a proxy to understand the sea ice conditions on the Eurasian Arctic coast, which is important for shipping and high-resolution Arctic climate modelling.

Objectives To elucidate the clinical relevance of nonlinear HRV with postoperative arrhythmias in patients undergoing off-pump CABG. Methods Twenty-seven elective off-pump CABG patients were recruited in the present study. Atrial fibrillation （AF）, ventricular tachycardia （VT）, linear and nonlinear HRV were analysed using 24-hour electrocardiogram before and after surgery. Results All time domain （SDNN, pNN50 and rMSSD）, frequency domain （LF and HF） of linear measures of HRV variables and nonlinear measures of HRV variable, the short-term fractal-like correlation α1 decreased significantly after surgery. The postoperative nonlinear HRV variable α1 tended to be lower in patients with postoperative AF （ P = 0. 056 ）. Significant depressed α1 was found in patients with postoperative VT （P = 0. 022 ）. Elder patient＇s age and longer inotropic treatment time negatively correlated with postoperative α1. Conclusions Off-pump CABG procedures resulted in significant depressed of linear and nonlinear HRV variables. The depressed nonlinear HRV variables α1 related to age, inotropic supports and postoperative AF and VT.

Studies estimating eye movements have demonstrated that non-human primates have fixation patterns similar to humans at the first sight of a *** the current study,three sets of pictures containing monkeys,humans or both were presented to rhesus monkeys and *** eye movements on these pictures by the two species were recorded using a Tobii eye-tracking *** found that monkeys paid more attention to the head and body in pictures containing monkeys,whereas both monkeys and humans paid more attention to the head in pictures containing *** humans always concentrated on the eyes and head in all the pictures,indicating the social role of facial cues in *** humans paid more attention to the hands than monkeys,both monkeys and humans were interested in the hands and what was being done with them in the *** may suggest the importance and necessity of hands for ***,monkeys scored lower in eye-tracking when fixating on the pictures,as if they were less interested in looking at the screen than *** locations of fixation in monkeys may provide insight into the role of eye movements in an evolutionary context.

Although much attention has been paid to investigating and controlling air pollution in China, the trends of air-pollutant concentrations on a national scale have remained unclear. Here, we quantitatively investigated the variation of air pollutants in China using long-term comprehensive data sets from 2013 to 2017, during which Chinese government made major efforts to reduce anthropogenic emission in polluted regions. Our results show a significant decreasing trend in the PM2.5concentration in heavily polluted regions of eastern China, with an annual decrease of ～7% compared with measurements in 2013. The measured decreased concentrations of SO2, NO2and CO（a proxy for anthropogenic volatile organic compounds） could explain a large fraction of the decreased PM2.5concentrations in different regions. As a consequence, the heavily polluted days decreased significantly in corresponding regions. Concentrations of organic aerosol,nitrate, sulfate, ammonium and chloride measured in urban Beijing revealed a remarkable reduction from 2013 to 2017, connecting the decreases in aerosol precursors with corresponding chemical components closely. However, surface-ozone concentrations showed increasing trends in most urban stations from 2013 to 2017, which indicates stronger photochemical pollution. The boundary-layer height in capital cities of eastern China showed no significant trends over the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions from 2013 to 2017, which confirmed the reduction in anthropogenic emissions. Our results demonstrated that the Chinese government was successful in the reduction of particulate matter in urban areas from 2013 to 2017, although the ozone concentration has increased significantly, suggesting a more complex mechanism of improving Chinese air quality in the future.
