Effects of aqueous extract of notobasis syriaca on lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation in rats

Objective: To investigate the effects of a dry aqueous extract of notobasis syriaca(n. syriaca)on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammation in rats. Methods: Rats were fed the dried extract [500 mg/(kg·d)] for three consecutive days and then were intraperitoneally injected with LPS(1 mg/kg). Two hours after LPS injection, rats were sacrificed and blood and brain regions were collected. Inflammatory mediators' levels in plasma and homogenates of brain regions were determined by ELISA. Results: Pretreatment with the n. syriaca extract resulted in significant anti-inflammatory effects(Pncluding: i) attenuated LPS-induced hypothermia; ii) decreased hypothalamus and hippocampus prostaglandin E_2 levels in the LPStreated rats; and, iii) reduced hypothalamus and hippocampus interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-a levels in the LPS-treated rats. Conclusions: These results suggest that n. syriaca possesses anti-inflammatory properties. Thus, it is possible that long-term consumption of this plant may result in beneficial pharmacological effects.

Synthesis of ***（0.5-x）Fe204 nanoparticles with x=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 were realized via coprecipitation method. X-ray diffraction （XRD） and vibrating sample magnetometer （VSM） measurements were performed on the samples to determine the characteristics of the crystal structures and the magnetic properties of the samples, respectively. The spinel phase structures of the samples were confirmed by XRD analysis. Patterns of decreased lattice parameter and increased crystallite size values were observed by increasing the Li concentration at longer synthesis reaction periods. Similarly, for the magnetic properties, both the saturation magnetization （Ms） and coercivity （Hc） were found to vary with increasing patterns at higher Li doping levels and longer synthesis reaction periods. The results and mechanisms concerned were discussed.

The researches of new palladium-based alloys have been conducted, and the cast and deformed bars for jewels have been obtained. The mechanism of occurrence of welding defects (pore formation) in the production of jewelry chains of silver-containing palladium alloys has been studied. The analysis of the welded joints of the chains, obtained by argon-arc welding, has been carried out, and the properties of metal have been analyzed. Conclusions have been drawn on the possibility of use of the developed palladium alloys, which do not contain silver, for the production of wired semi-products having a low propensity for pore formation in the weld seams.

The purpose of this work was to explore the influence law of vibration load on rock mass structure and slope *** on the type and transmission way of vibration stress wave,the main stress in the horizontal and vertical directions was analyzed and the superposition effect of the stress wave was *** the mechanical analysis of the sliding mass,the calculation formulas of the anti-sliding force and the sliding force were derived and the damage mechanism of blasting vibration to the structural plane was *** addition,according to the structure and lithologic parameter of the slope as well as the vibration monitoring data,the west slope stability of Xiaolongtan open pit mine was *** results show that the time-dependent stability factor is proportional to the vibration speed and the peak values appear at the same *** load promotes the breakage of the structural plane leading to the drop of the west slope stability factor by 0.23%.Under the multipoint simultaneous blasting,the fluctuating laws of the stability factors are *** more the start-up points are,the higher the weakening degree to the slope stability *** the multipoint allochronic blasting,the stability factor depends on the synthetic waveform structure of all vibration *** greater the blasting time difference is,the lower the weakening degree to the slope stability *** the reasonable quantity of start-up points and time difference could fully reduce the adverse influence of vibration load to slope stability.

Optical Design of ECEI Diagnostic System for HT-T Tokamak

Electron cyclotron emission imaging system in the frequency range of 95 GHz -125 GHz is going to be constructed for a two-dimensional diagnosis of the electron temperature profiles and fluctuations on the HT-7 Tokamak. The optical design for the ECEI diagnostic system is completed. Because of the superconducting technology used in HT-7, the vacuum chamber is rather thick (630 mm), the height of the horizontal windows is limited (maximum 450 mm), which constrains greatly the ECE imaging Gaussian beam that passing through the windows. We here comes to make a design compromise between the number of the beams that can pass through the windows and the spatial resolution (around 1.1 cm). We also find that due to the field curvature of the optical system, the gaussian beams of edge channels are always overlapped. To flatten the field curvature, it is needed to insert a concave made of a material with a low refractive index (compared with the one used in the convex). But the suitable material has not been available so far, therefore the deterioration of the resolution in some channels (e.g. the edge channels) is acceptable.

A new ErzMn207 compound was synthesized by the ceramic method and its crystal structure was characterized LJsing powder X-ray diffraction （XRD） and observed by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The magnetic properties were investigated using a BS2 magnetometer and the heat capacity was studied using a quantum design （PPMS）. The structural study revealed that this compound was monophasic and crystallized in the monoclinic system with the P2/M space group. Magnetization measurements were carried out in the temperature range of 1.8-200 K under an applied magnetic field of 0.05 T. A crossover from a room temperature para- magnetic phase to an antiferromagnetic one at low temperature was detected from the magnetic study. The magnetic susceptibility, in the paramagnetic region above 40 K, was found to present a simple Curie-Weiss type behavior. From the specific heat （G,） measurements in magnetic fields up to 5 T, we noted the presence of a wide peak characteristic of a second order magneto-structural transition.

Solution for fractional potential KdV and Benjamin equations using the novel technique

In this paper,we find the solutions for fractional potential Korteweg-de Vries(p-KdV)and Benjamin equations using q-homotopy analysis transform method(q-HATM).The considered method is the mixture of q-homotopy analysis method and Laplace transform,and the Caputo fractional operator is considered in the present *** projected solution procedure manipulates and controls the obtained results in a large admissible ***,it offers a simple algorithm to adjust the convergence province of the obtained *** validate the q-HATM is accurate and reliable,the numerical simulations have been conducted for both equations and the outcomes are revealed through the plots and *** between the obtained solutions with the exact solutions exhibits that,the considered method is efficient and effective in solving nonlinear problems associated with science and technology.
