A new additive technique for manufacturing of short fibre-reinforced ultra-refractory ceramics is *** technique allows the fabrication of solvent-free,thin(~100µm),flexible,and easy-to-handle sheets suitable for fabricating homogeneous or layered structures.A large range of compositions,in terms of matrix and fibre volumetric contents,from 0%to 100%is *** amount of short carbon fibres incorporated in the sheets ranged from 20 to 50 vol%,whereas the fibre length ranged from 3 to 5 *** matrix composition investigated with this technique consisted of ZrB_(2)/SiC/Y_(2)O_(3).By increasing the fibre amount from 35 to 50 vol%,an improvement of mechanical properties was ***-point flexural strength(σ)ranged from 107 to 140 MPa,depending on the amount of carbon fibres(Cf).The same holds true for the work of fracture,ranging from 108 to 253 J/m^(2).Functionally graded composites were fabricated by overlapping sheets with a fibre gradient(0%-50%).

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a viral infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2;formerly designated as 2019-nCoV),a novel betacoronavirus firstly identified during a burst of respiratory illness cases in Wuhan City,Hubei Province,China.1 Unfortunately,within a few weeks,the SARS-COV2 virus started to spread globally,producing a pandemic of an extremely spreadable and potentially fatal disease,becoming a cause of great concern for global public health.1 Despite the current estimates of COVID-19 case fatality rate suggest that this coronavirus is less deadly than other pathogens driving other large-scale outbreaks,such as SARS,Middle East respiratory syndrome,or Ebola,the main concern is that this infection is able to spread more easily than other diseases,including seasonal influenza.

BACKGROUND Two-stage hepatectomy(TSH)is a well-established surgical technique,used to treat bilateral colorectal liver metastases(CRLM)with a small future liver remnant(FLR).However,in classical TSH,drop-out is reported to be around 25%-40%,due to insufficient FLR increase or progression of ***-arterial radioembolization(TARE)has been described to control locally tumor growth of liver malignancies such as hepatocellular carcinoma,but it has been also reported to induce a certain degree of contralateral liver hypertrophy,even if at a lower rate compared to portal vein embolization or *** SUMMARY Herein we report the case of a 75-year-old female patient,where TSH and TARE were combined to treat bilateral *** to computed tomography(CT)-scan,the patient had a hepatic lesion in segment VI-VII and two other confluent lesions in segment ***,one-stage posterior right sectionectomy plus left lateral sectionectomy(LLS)was *** liver volumetry estimated a FLR of 38%(segments I-IV-V-VIII).However,due to a more than initially planned,extended right resection,simultaneous LLS was not performed and the patient underwent selective TARE to segments II-III after the first *** CT-scan performed after TARE showed a reduction of the treated lesion and a FLR increase of 55%.Carcinoembryonic antigen and CA 19.9 decreased *** three months later after the first surgery,LLS was performed and the patient was discharged without any postoperative *** According to this specific experience,TARE was used to induce liver hypertrophy and simultaneously control cancer progression in TSH settings for bilateral CRLM.

Hepatic resection represents the gold-standard treatment for different liver diseases. Among postoperative complications, bile leak remains one of the most common sources of morbidity, which can lead to an increase of hospital stay, need of invasive procedure and potentially death (1). The definition and acknowledge of risk factors for the development of biliary fistula as well as its early detection and optimal management is, in this sense, of crucial importance.

Over the past years,important progresses have been made in the treatment of patients with colorectal liver metastases(CLM).Now,5-year overall survival rate may exceed 50%by using the combination of multimodality therapies among which modern systemic chemotherapy,with or without monoclonal antibodies,and hepatic resection are the cornerstones(1,2).In such multimodality,hepatic artery infusion(HAI)has been proposed since many years with the rationale of increasing the concentration of chemotherapy agents in the liver(3).However,HAI still remains infrequently used,in particular in the adjuvant setting mainly because of the requirement of a multidisciplinary team to manage therapy,and the more widespread use of systemic chemotherapy-in particular following the perioperative“sandwich”schema(4).

Analytical indicial aerodynamic functions are calculated for several trapezoidal wings in subsonic flow, with a Mach number 0.3 Ma 0.7. The formulation herein proposed extends wellknown aerodynamic theories, which are limited to thin aerofoils in incompressible flow, to generic trapezoidal wing planforms. Firstly, a thorough study is executed to assess the accuracy and limitation of analytical predictions, using unsteady results from two state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics solvers as cross-validated benchmarks. Indicial functions are calculated for a step change in the angle of attack and for a sharp-edge gust, each for four wing configurations and three Mach numbers. Then, analytical and computational indicial responses are used to predict dynamic derivatives and the maximum lift coefficient following an encounter with a one-minus-cosine gust. It is found that the analytical results are in excellent agreement with the computational results for all test cases. In particular, the deviation of the analytical results from the computational results is within the scatter or uncertainty in the data arising from using two computational fluid dynamics solvers. This indicates the usefulness of the developed analytical theories.

Flow fractional reserve(FFR) allows to evaluate the functional significance of coronary artery lesions, through the ratio of the mean coronary artery pressure after the stenosis to the mean aortic pressure duringmaximum hyperemia. The actual widely accepted cutoff value is 0.80. Below this value a coronary lesion is considered significant and therefore it requires invasive revascularization. Several studies [in particular Fractional Flow Reserve vs Angiography for Multivessel Evaluation 1(FAME-1) and FAME-2] have shown the relationship between FFR measurement and hard end-points(death, myocardial infarction, and urgent revascularization). Consequently, FFR evaluation represents the cornerstone in the decision-making in intermediate coronary lesions. Recent studies paved the way for further applications of FFR evaluation in complex and tricky clinical settings. In this paper, we perform an overview of the data regarding contemporary application of FFR. In particular, we review the use of FFR in: left main intermediate stenoses, serial stenoses, evaluation after stenting, guidance in coronary artery bypass surgery, and acute coronary syndrome. All the data presented in our overview confirm the essential role of FFR assessment in the daily clinical practice. The shift from "operator-dependent" to "FFR-dependent" evaluation in intermediate coronary artery stenosis is of paramount importance in order to improve the prognosis of our patients, through the discrimination of the functional role of every single coronary stenosis.
