An experimental investigation of the crystallographic,Raman and transport properties of the Ce_(1-x)(Nd_(0.74)Tm_(0.26))_xO_(2-x/2)(0.1≤x≤0.6) doped ceria system was performed with the aim of setting out correlations between structural features and ionic conductivity of the *** chosen composition ensures that the average size of the Nd^(3+) and Tm^(3+) doping ions coincides with the one of Sm^(3+);even so,the studied system presents larger cell parameters and a wider compositional extent of the CeO_(2)-based solid solution than Sm-doped ***,the occurrence of two different activation energies to ionic conduction below and above ~750 K determines the existence of two distinct conduction *** described experimental results agree with the formation below the threshold temperature of1 V_O2 Tm'_(Ce) trimers,which promote the incorporation of Nd'_(Ce) isolated defects into the CeO_(2)-based solid *** the high temperature range the dissociation of trimers induces the appearance of a lower activation energy;the extrapolation of its value at infinite dilution provides a result in good accordance with the expected binding energy of 1 V_ORE'_(Ce) dimers,pointing at their stability even in the high temperature conduction regime.

This work reports the inherent peroxidase-like properties of Ruthenium （Ru） nanoframes. After templating with Palladium （Pd） seeds, Ru nanoframes with an octa- hedral shape, average edge length of 6.2 nm, and thickness of 1.8 nm were synthesized in high purity （〉95 %） and good uniformity. Using the oxidation of 3,3t,5,5＇-tetram- ethylbenzidine （TMB） by H202 as a model catalytic reac- tion, the Ru frames were demonstrated to be approximately three times more active than natural peroxidases in cat- alyzing the formation of colored products. As compared to their natural counterparts, Ru frames have a stronger binding affinity to TMB as well as a weaker binding affinity to hydrogen peroxide during the catalysis. The Ru frames as peroxidase mimics proved to be chemically and thermally stable. This work represents the first demonstration of Ru nanostructure-based peroxidase mimics and is therefore expected to inspire future research on bio-applications of Ru nanomaterials.

Heart Failure(HF)in elderly patients is a systemic syndrome where advanced age,comorbidities with organ system deterioration,frailty and impaired cognition significantly impact *** cachexia,sarcopenia and frailty despite overlap in definitions are different clinical entities that frequently coexist in HF ***,these co-factors often remain unaddressed,resulting in poor quality-of-life,prolonged physical disability and exercise intolerance and finally with higher rehospitalization rates and *** aim to increase muscle mass and muscle strength and delay the occurrence of frailty state appear essential in this *** HF drugs therapy(b-blockers,angiotensinconverting enzyme inhibitors)and prescription of physical exercise program remain the cornerstone of therapeutic approach in HF patients with new promising data regarding nutritional ***,the treatment of all these conditions still remain debated and only a profound knowledge of the specific mechanisms and patterns of disease progression will allow to use the appropriate therapy in a given clinical *** all these reasons we briefly review current knowledge on frailty,sarcopenia and cachexia in HF patients with the attempt to define clinically significant degrees of multiorgan dysfunction,specific"red alert"thresholds in clinical practice and therapeutic approach.

The hadron-quark phase transition is studied with the newly constructed Hadron-Poyakov-Nambu- Jona-Lasinio(PNJL) ***,in the description of quark matter,we include the isoscalar-vector *** the constraints of neutron star observations,our calculation shows the isoscalar-vector interaction between quarks is indispensable if massive hybrids star exist in the *** strength determines the onset density of quark matter,and the mass-radius relations of hybrid ***,as a connection with heavy-ion-collision experiments,we discuss the strength of isoscalar-vector interaction and its effect on the signals of hadron-quark phase transition in heavy-ion collisions,such as NICA at JINR-Dubna and FAIR at GSI-Darmstadt.

Concurrent with the obesity epidemic,non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is rapidly becoming the leading cause of chronic liver disease worldwide(1).NAFLD,particularly its histological phenotype non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH),can progress to advanced liver disease,cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma and indication for liver transplantation(2).Although remarkable advances have been made in the understanding of the pathophysiology of NAFLD,the exact mechanism of hepatic fat accumulation and the progression to NASH is not fully ***,in order to reduce the burden associated with these diseases,it is imperative that all major factors that contribute to the development of NAFLD are identified.
