With the expanding use of the Internet of Things(IoT)devices and the connection of humans and devices to the Internet,the need to provide security in this field is constantly *** conventional cryptographic solutions need the IoT device to store secret keys in its non-volatile memory(NVM)leading the system to be vulnerable to physical *** addition,they are not appropriate for IoT applications due to their complex ***,physically unclonable functions(PUFs)have been introduced to simultaneously address these *** are lightweight and easy-toaccess hardware security primitives which employ the unique characteristics of integrated circuits(ICs)to generate secret *** all proposed PUFs,ring oscillator PUF(RO-PUF)has had amore suitable structure for hardware implementation because of its high reliability and easier providing of circuital ***,RO-PUF has not been so attractive for authentication purposes due to its limited supported challenge-response pairs(CRPs).A few efforts have been made in recent years that could successfully improve the RO-PUF CRP space,such as configurable RO-PUF(CRO-PUF).In this paper,by considerably improving the CRO-PUF structure and adding spare paths,we propose a novel strong RO-PUF structure that exponentially grows the CRP space and dramatically reduces the hardware *** implement our design on a simple and low-cost FPGA chip named XC6SLX9-2tqg144,stating that the proposed design can be used in IoT *** addition,to improve the CRP space,our design creates a suitable improvement in different security/performance terms of the generated responses,and dramatically outperforms the *** average reliability,uniqueness,and uniformity of the responses generated are 99.55%,48.49%,and 50.99%,respectively.

An improved Merkle hash tree based secure scheme for bionic underwater acoustic communication

Recently,bionic signals have been used to achieve covert underwater acoustic communication(UWAC)with high signal-to-noise ratios(SNRs)over transmission systems.A high SNR allows the attackers to proceed with their mischievous goals and makes transmission systems vulnerable against malicious *** this paper we propose an improved Merkle hash tree based secure scheme that can resist current underwater attacks,i.e.,replay attack,fabricated message attack,message-altering attack,and analyst *** analysis is performed to prove that the proposed scheme can resist these types of *** evaluations show that the proposed scheme can meet UWAC limitations due to its efficiency regarding energy consumption,communication overhead,and computation cost.

Evaluation of microRNA-146a expression in acute lymphoblastic leukemia

MicroRNAs （miRNAs） play an essential role in the development and progression of acute lymphoblastic leukemia （ALL）, and could serve as disease biomarkers and therapeutic targets. The function of miR-146a in lymphoid differentiation has been here with discussed. However, the role of this miRNA in the outcome of ALL is not well understood. Peripheral blood of 48 patients with ALL and 20 age- and sex-matched healthy control subjects was used to accurately evaluate the expression of miR-146a by stem-loop Real time PCR. No statistically significant difference was found between patients and controls in total miR-146a expression. The expression of miR-146a was high （18.75%）, low （27.08~o） and not different （54.17%） in ALL patients. Our analysis indicated no association between the expression of miR-146a and any prognostic factors such as WBC/PLT counts, Hb, fusion genes （P190 and some translocations） with ALL type. This study revealed that miR-146a cannot be an independent factor for predicting the outcome of ALL patients. We suggest a multi-parameter analysis including miRNAs, transcription factors and critical genes to achieve a precise clinical panel for prognostic values.

Bedside ultrasonography for verification of shoulder reduction： A long way to go

OBJECTIVE:Shoulder dislocation is a common joint dislocation managed by the emergency physicians in the emergency departments. Pre- and post-reduction radiographic examinations have long been the standard practice to confirm the presence of dislocation and the successful reduction. However, shoulder ultrasonography has recently been proposed as an alternative to the radiographic examination. This study aimed to assess the accuracy of ultrasonography in evaluating proper reduction of the dislocated joint.;METHODS:This was a prospective observational study. All patients with confirmed anterior shoulder dislocation were examined by both ultrasonography and radiography after the attempt for reduction of the dislocated joint. The examiners were blinded to the result of the other imaging modality. Results of the two methods were then compared.;RESULTS:Overall, 108 patients with confirmed anterior shoulder dislocation were enrolled in the study. Ninety-one (84.3%) of the patients were males. Mean age of the participants was (30.11 ± 11.41) years. The majority of the patients had a recurrent dislocation. Bedside ultrasonography showed a sensitivity of 53.8% (95% CI: 29.1%-76.8%) and a specificity of 100% (95% CI: 96.1%-100%) in detecting inadequate reductions. The results of ultrasonography had a statistically significant agreement with the results of radiography (Kappa = 0.672, p < 0.001).;CONCLUSIONS:The results suggest that the sensitivity of post-reduction ultrasound is not sufficient for it to serve as a substitute for radiography.

The Effect of Alluvial Foundation on the Earth Dams Settlement

Careful monitoring in the earth dams, to measure deformation caused by settlement and movement has always been a concern for engineers in the field. In order to measure settlement and deformation of earth dams, usually the precision instruments of settlement set and combined Inclinometer that is commonly referred to IS instrument, will be used. In some dams, because the thickness of alluvium is high and there is no possibility of alluvium removal (technically and economically and in terms of performance), there is no possibility to place the end of IS instrument (precision instruments of Inclinometer-settlement set) in the rock foundation. Inevitably, have to accept installing pipes in the weak and the deformable alluvial foundation that this leads to errors in the calculation of the actual settlement (absolute settlement) in different parts of the dam body. The purpose of this paper is to present new and refine criteria for predicting settlement and deformation in earth dams. The study is based on conditions in three dams with a deformation quite alluvial (Agh Chai, Narmashir and Gilan-e Gharb) to provide settlement criteria affected by alluvial foundation. To achieve this goal, the settlement of dams was simulated by using finite difference method with FLAC3D software and then the modeling results were compared with reading IS instrument. In the end, the caliber of the model and validate the results, by using regression analysis techniques and scrutinized modeling parameters with real situations and then by using MATLAB software and Curve Fitting Toolbox, a new criteria for the settlement based on elasticity modulus, cohesion, friction angle, density of earth dam and alluvial foundation was obtained. The results of these studies show that, by using the new criteria measures, the amount of settlement and deformation for the dams with alluvial foundation can be corrected after instrument readings and the error rate in reading IS instrument can be greatly reduced.
