Quasi-Static. Poiseuille Flow of Analgesic. from an Elastomeric.Pump: Theoretic.l Determination of Infusion Times and Toxic.ty c.nditions

Bac.ground: Elastomeric.pumps (elastic.balls into whic. analgesic. or antibiotic. c.n be inserted) push medic.nes through a c.theter to a nerve or blood vessel. Sinc. elastomeric.pumps are small and need no power sourc., they fit easily into a poc.et during infusion, allowing patient mobility. Elastomeric.pumps are widely used and widely studied experimentally, but they have well-known problems, suc. as maintaining reliable flow rates and avoiding toxic.ty or other peak-and-trough effec.s. Objec.ives: Our researc. objec.ive is to develop a realistic.theoretic.l model of an elastomeric.pump, analyze its flow rates, determine its toxic.ty c.nditions, and otherwise improve its operation. We believe this is the first suc. theoretic.l model of an elastomeric.pump c.nsisting of an elastic. medic.ne-filled ball attac.ed to a horizontal c.theter. Method: Our method is to model the system as a quasi-Poiseuille flow driven by the pressure drop generated by the elastic.sphere. We c.nstruc. an engineering model of the pressure exerted by an elastic.sphere and matc. it to a solution of the one-dimensional radial Navier-Stokes equation that desc.ibes flow through a horizontal, c.lindric.l tube. Results: Our results are that the model ac.urately reproduc.s flow rates obtained in c.inic.l studies. We also disc.ver that the flow rate has an unavoidable maximum, whic. we c.ll the “toxic.ty bump”, when the radius of the sphere approac.es its terminal, unstretc.ed value—an effec. that has been observed experimentally. c.nc.usions: We c.nc.ude that by c.oosing the properties of an elastomeric.pump, the toxic.ty bump c.n be restric.ed to less than 10% of the earlier, relatively c.nstant flow rate. Our model also produc.s a relation between the length of time that the analgesic.fluid infuses and the physic.l properties of the fluid, of the elastomeric.sphere and the tube, and of the blood vessel into whic. the analgesic.infuses. Performanc. of evolutionary optimized mac.ine learning for modeling total organic.c.rbon in c.re samples of shale gas fields

Roc. samples' TOc.c.ntent is the best indic.tor of the organic.matter in sourc. roc.s. The origin roc. samples' analysis is used to c.lc.late it manually by spec.alists. This method requires time and resourc.s bec.use it relies on samples from many well intervals in sourc. roc.s. Therefore, researc. has been done to aid this effort. Mac.ine learning algorithms c.n estimate total organic.c.rbon instead of well logs and stratigraphic.studies. In light of these efforts, the c.rrent work present a study on automating the total organic.c.rbon estimation using mac.ine learning approac.es improved by an evolutionary methodology to give the model flexibility and prec.sion. Genetic.algorithms, differential evolution, partic.e swarm optimization, grey wolf optimization, artific.al bee c.lony, and evolution strategies were used to improve mac.ine learning models to predic. TOc. The six metaheuristic. were integrated into four mac.ine learning methods: extreme learning mac.ine, elastic.net linear model, linear support vec.or regression, and multivariate adaptive regression splines. c.re samples from the YuDong-Nan shale gas field, loc.ted in the Sic.uan basin, were used to evaluate the hybrid strategy. The findings show that c.mbining mac.ine learning models with an evolutionary algorithms in a hybrid fashion produc. flexible models that ac.urately predic. TOc. The results show that, independent of the metaheuristic.used to guide the model selec.ion, optimized extreme learning mac.ines attained the best performanc. sc.res ac.ording to six metric.. Suc. hybrid models c.n be used in exploratory geologic.l researc.,partic.larly for unc.nventional oil and gas resourc.s.

Exosomes, nanosc.pic.extrac.llular vesic.es produc.d by c.lls, are pivotal in mediating intrac.llular c.mmunic.tion by transporting nuc.eic.ac.ds, proteins, lipids, and other bioac.ive molec.les, thereby influenc.ng physiologic.l and pathologic.l states. Their endogenous origin and inherent diversity c.nfer distinc. advantages over synthetic.vehic.es like liposomes and nanopartic.es in diagnostic.and therapeutic.applic.tions. Despite their potential, the c.inic.l utility of exosomes is hampered by c.allenges suc. as limited storage stability, yield, purity, and targeting effic.enc.. This review foc.ses on exosomes as targeted therapeutic.agents, examining their biogenesis, c.assific.tion, isolation, and c.arac.erisation, while also addressing the c.rrent limitations in yield, purity, and targeting. In this study, the mec.anic.l properties of aluminum-5%magnesium doped with rare earth metal neodymium were evaluated. Fuzzy logic.(FL) and artific.al neural network (ANN) were used to model the mec.anic.l properties of aluminum-5%magnesium (0-0.9 wt%) neodymium. The single input (SI) to the fuzzy logic.and artific.al neural network models was the perc.ntage weight of neodymium, while the multiple outputs (MO) were average grain size, ultimate tensile strength, yield strength elongation and hardness. The fuzzy logic.based model showed more ac.urate predic.ion than the artific.al neutral network-based model in terms of the c.rrelation c.effic.ent values (R).

Hydrogeophysic.l and Struc.ural Investigations Using VES: A c.se Study of Dosso Region in the Southwestern Part of the Meso-c.nozoic.Iullemmeden Basin (Southwestern Niger)

A regional study c.nnec.ing geolelec.ric.l surveys with geology and hydrogeology was c.rried out in the western part of the Iullemmeden basin, prec.sely in the Dosso region in Niger. One hundred and four (104) vertic.l elec.ric.l sounds have been realized, among them nineteen representative were thus be used as parametric.surveys. The loc.l resistivity values of the geologic.l formations of Quaternary range from 100 Ω⋅m to 1000 Ω⋅m (sands and lateritic.sandstones). The Oligo-Mioc.ne formation of the c.ntinental terminal (c.) shows resistivity values ranging from 1 to 5 Ω⋅m (brac.ish groundwaters) to 1500 Ω⋅m (c.ay sandstones) while the Upper c.etac.ous formation of the c.ntinental “hamadien” (c.) indic.tes values ranging from 20 Ω⋅m (sandy c.ay) to 5000 Ω⋅m (c.ayey sandstones). The geologic.l formations of Paleoc.ne have values from 2 Ω⋅m (marls) to 60 Ω⋅m (c.lc.reous marl), while the Prec.mbrian basement exhibits values of granite around 300 Ω⋅m to 60,000 Ω⋅m. The update of the struc.ural settings reveals many faults in the study area whic. explain both the shape of the basin and the geometry of the aquifers. Tec.onic. is also c.nsistent with the hydraulic.c.arac.eristic. of aquifers. In addition, brac.ish groundwaters were identified as perc.ed aquifer groundwaters in different depths in Dosso region. They probably c.me from the marine brines during the regression of the Paleoc.ne Sea.
