Effect of protease supplementation on apparent ileal crude protein and amino acid digestibility of over-processed soybean meals in broilers

Background: Nutritional value of proteins in feed ingredients can be negatively affected by hydrothermal processing, which causes large variation in the bioavailability of amino acids(AA) and negatively affects animal productive performance. supplementation of exogenous proteases could increase the rate of digestion of damaged proteins, thereby increasing overall AA digestibility and bioavailability. The aim was to determine the effect of exogenous protease supplementation on the apparent ileal digestibility(AiD) of crude protein(CP) and AA of soybean meals(sBM) with different degrees of hydrothermal processing in ***: The experiment involved a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement, with sBM processing time(commercial sBM or autoclaved for 30 or 60 min at 120 ℃) and protease supplementation(not supplemented and supplemented) as factors. Protease was included at three times the recommended dose(0.06%) and the experimental diets were fed from 15 to 21 ***: The interaction between the effects of sBM processing and protease supplementation was significant for the AiD of CP(P = 0.01), Trp(P = 0.01), Gly(P = 0.03) and Pro(P = 0.03), and also for the average daily gain(P = 0.01)and feed conversion ratio(P = 0.04). increasing the processing time of sBM decreased(P iD of all amino acids, whilst the effect of protease supplementation was only significant for the AiD of Phe(P = 0.02) and Tyr(P = 0.01).Conclusions: Exogenous protease supplementation at three times the commercial dose does not seem to offset the negative effects of hydrothermal processing of sBM on the apparent ileal digestibility of CP and amino acids or performance of broilers. Whilst positive numerical improvements of digestibility and performance(ADG and FCR)were noticed with protease supplementation at relatively mild processing levels, negative results were obtained with the harsh-processed meals.

The soft X-ray imager(sXi)is part of the scientific payload of the solar wind Magnetosphere ionosphere Link Explorer(sMiLE)*** is a joint science mission between the European space Agency(EsA)and the Chinese Academy of sciences(CAs)and is due for launch in *** is a compact X-ray telescope with a wide field-of-view(FOV)capable of encompassing large portions of Earth’s magnetosphere from the vantage point of the sMiLE *** is sensitive to the soft X-rays produced by the solar Wind Charge eXchange(sWCX)process produced when heavy ions of solar wind origin interact with neutral particles in Earth’s *** provides a mechanism for boundary detection within the magnetosphere,such as the position of Earth’s magnetopause,because the solar wind heavy ions have a very low density in regions of closed magnetic field *** sensitivity of the sXi is such that it can potentially track movements of the magnetopause on timescales of a few minutes and the orbit of sMiLE will enable such movements to be tracked for segments lasting many *** is led by the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom(UK)with collaborating organisations on hardware,software and science support within the UK,Europe,China and the United states.

A Techno-Economical Characterization of solar PV Power Generation in Rwanda:The Role of subsidies and incentives

standalone solar PV systems have been vital in the improvement of access to energy in many ***,given the large cost of solar PV plants’components,in developing countries,there is a dear need for such components to be subsidised and incentivised for the consumers to afford the produced ***,there is a need for optimal sizing of the solar PV plants taking into account the solar information,energy requirement for various activities,and economic conditions in the off-grid regions in *** study aims to develop optimally sized solar PV plants suited to rural communities in ***,it aims at characterizing the impacts of subsidies and incentives on the profitability and affordability of solar PV plants’energy in *** the study,we have developed a model on basis of which the plant power(peak power)and costs of energy can be predicted given the load requirements using *** model was validated using data corrected at eight different *** generalized predictive model’s results matched the results obtained using field measurement data as *** models have been able to replicate with a by degree of accuracy the peak powers and the plants’costs for different loads and were used to evaluate the economic viability of solar PV plants in *** was found that with incentives and subsidies of 20%,the solar PV systems’costs,the Levelised Cost of Energy would drop from a maximum of 0.098 Euro to a minimum of 0.072 Euro,the payback period was reduced from a maximum of 7.5 years to a minimum of 6.0 years while the return on investments was seen to vary between 425.72 and 615.32 per cent over the plants’lifetime of 25 *** our findings underscore the importance of government subsidies and incentives for solar PV energy generation projects to be significantly profitable.

sustainability is now a part of all areas of today's society and has become a cornerstone of economic,social,and environmental *** pivotal role means that sustainability has also influenced the innovation *** the last few decades,new innovationrelated concepts linked to sustainable development have emerged in the form of environmental,green,sustainable,and eco-innovations;nevertheless,technological and innovation developments still occur within the boundaries of an innovation *** systems possess unique characteristics that shape activities,actions,and *** separate bodies of literature on eco-innovation and innovation systems are extensive;however,the status of the literature on the intersection of these two topics is less *** study provides an overview of the scientific literature in the area where ecoinnovation and innovation systems meet,and a bibliometric analysis shows that the joint study of eco-innovation and innovation systems is an unexplored knowledge ***,the main authors and documents that provide the foundation of the literature on ecoinnovation and innovation systems were identified,and theoretical knowledge was grouped into four clusters according to thematic areas:Cluster 1 related to eco-innovation;Cluster 2 related to innovation systems;and Clusters 3 and 4,which include the elements that constitute and interact within eco-innovation *** hope that this study will encourage scholars to conduct research on eco-innovation systems,which could have positive implications for the design and implementation of new policies and instruments to achieve sustainable development.

A novel method for geometric quality assurance of rock joint replicas in direct shear testing-Part 2:Validation and mechanical replicability

Each rock joint is unique by nature which means that utilization of replicas in direct shear tests is required in experimental parameter ***,a method to acquire knowledge about the ability of the replicas to imitate the shear mechanical behavior of the rock joint and their dispersion in direct shear testing is *** this study,a novel method is presented for geometric quality assurance of *** aim is to facilitate generation of high-quality direct shear testing data as a prerequisite for reliable subsequent analyses of the *** Part 1 of this study,two quality assurance parameters,smf and V_(Hp100),are derived and their usefulness for evaluation of geometric deviations,*** reproducibility,is *** Part 2,the parameters are validated by showing a correlation between the parameters and the shear mechanical behavior,which qualifies the parameters for usage in the quality assurance *** results from direct shear tests presenting comparisons between replicas and the rock joint show that replicas fulfilling proposed threshold values of σ_(mf)ispersion and imitate the shear mechanical behavior of the rock joint in all aspects apart from having a slightly lower peak shear *** wear in these replicas,which have similar morphology as the rock joint,is in the same areas as in the rock *** wear is slightly larger in the rock joint and therefore the discrepancy in peak shear strength derives from differences in material properties,possibly from differences in *** is shown by application of the suggested method that the quality assured replicas manufactured following the process employed in this study phenomenologically capture the shear strength characteristics,which makes them useful in parameter studies.

in the present paper, we study the transmission of the two-dimensional photonic crystal （PC） superellipse ring resonator. The fast growing applications of optomechanical systems lead to strong demands in new sensing mechanism in order to design the sensing elements to nanometer scale. The photonic crystal based resonator has been investigated as promising solutions because the band gap structure and resonator characteristics are extremely sensitive to the deformation and position shift of rod/cavity in PC resonators. This structure opens a single channel filter. The study is extended for tuning of channel filter＇s wavelength with a temperature of this structure. The transmission of the channel filter shows a red shift with temperature linearly. This wavelength shift of the channel filter is used for the sensor application. The sensitivity for the proposed structure is found to be 65.3pm/℃. The outstanding sensing capability renders PC resonators as a promising optomechanical sensing element to be integrated into various transducers for temperature sensing applications.

Use of micellar liquid chromatography for rapid monitoring of fungicides post harvest applied to citrus wastewater

A method based on micellar liquid chromatography has been developed to simultaneously monitor four pesticides largely post-harvest applied to citrus：thiabendazole,pyrimethanil,o-phenylphenol and *** samples were filtered and directly injected without other treatment,thus avoiding extraction *** composition of the mobile phase was optimized using a chemometrical approach to achieve and excellent resolution to 0.07 mol/L sDs/5%,V/V 1-pentanol buffered at p H *** phase run through a C18 column at 1 m L/min at room *** detection was performing by UV–Visible absorbance using a wavelength program：0–10 min,305 nm（for thiabendazole）;10–12;265 nm（for pyrimethanil）and 12–18,220 nm（o-phenylphenol and imazalil）.The developed method was validated following the guidelines of the Us Environmental Protection Agency in terms of：quantitation range,（0.5–4 to 15μg/m L）,linearity（r2〉0.9995）,sensitivity（LOD,0.18–1.4μg/m L）,precision（〈9.2%）,trueness（93.9%–103.7%）,and ruggedness（〈9.9%）.it was found that the fungicides remain up to eight days in surface water at outdoor *** method was used to screen the presence of the analytes in several waste water samples,and was proved to be useful in routine analysis.

During the last two decades,partial discharges(PDs)modelling methods have been used as a complement of insulation diagnosis systems of electrical ***-element-analysis models for simulating PDs in cavities within solid dielectric materials are reviewed and a novel model is presented,which combines the main advantages of electrostatic and electric current *** theoretical background is presented and some limitations and restrictions are discussed.A case of study was implemented for three different ageing conditions and simulation results exhibit good agreement with reported values by other authors in the *** analysis of variations of PD behaviour with ageing as a function of temperature and pressure is briefly *** is concluded that more research is needed to include physical and chemical interactions on the void surface and that the cavity surface conductivity plays a fundamental role in the PD simulations at advanced ageing conditions.

Optical Frequency Comb-Based Cavity-Enhanced Fourier-Transform spectroscopy:Application to Collisional Line-shape study

Direct-comb spectroscopy techniques uses optical frequency combs(OFCs)as spectroscopic light *** deliver high sensitivity,high frequency resolution and precision in a broad spectral *** to these features,the field has burgeoned in recent *** this work we constructed an OFC-based cavity-enhanced Fourier-transform spectrometer in the nearinfrared region and used it for a line-shape study of rovibrational transitions of CO perturbed by *** highly sensitive measurements spanned the wavenumber range from 6270 cm^-1 to 6410 cm^-1,which covered both P and R branch of the second overtone band of *** spectrometer delivers high-resolution surpassing the Fourier-transform resolution limit determined by interferogram length,successfully removing ringing and broadening effects caused by instrumental line shape *** instrumental-line-shape-free method and high signal-to-noise ratio in the measurement allowed us to observe collisional effects beyond those described by the Voigt *** retrieved collisional line-shape parameters by fitting the speed-dependent Voigt profile and found good agreement with the values given by precise cavity ring-down spectroscopy measurements that used a continuous-wave laser referenced to a stabilized *** results demonstrate that OFC-based cavity-enhanced Fouriertransform spectroscopy is a strong tool for accurate line-shape studies that will be crucial for future spectral databases.
