Surface-anchored metal-organic frameworks(surMOFs)integrate nanoporous supramolecular MOF materials directly into architectures for applications such as gas storage,chemical sensing,and energy ***-by-layer solution-phase deposition of the MOF-14 components(1,3,5-tris(4-carboxyphenyl)benzene and copper(II)dimers,respectively)produces a porous and conformal film on carboxylterminated self-assembled monolayers(SAMs).In this research,the formation of ultrathin(less than 25 nm)surMOF films on codeposited bicomponent SAMs and microcontact printed SAMs is investigated by atomic force microscopy,ellipsometry,infrared spectroscopy,and contact angle *** composed of methyl-terminated alkanethiols assembled on gold substrates inhibit surMOF formation,whereas carboxyl-terminated alkanethiols promote MOF-14-based film *** tune the density of carboxyl groups that anchor the film,methyl-and carboxylterminated alkanethiols of varying concentrations are codeposited on *** systematic study demonstrates how surMOF film formation and morphology are impacted by these SAMs with mixed surface *** patterning methods for SAMs,such as microcontact printing(μCP),commonly have mixed chemical functionalities within certain regions of the *** gained regarding how mixed surface functionalities affect surMOF film formation are applied herein to optimize theμCP method to produce chemically patterned SAMs that selectively direct surMOF assembly to produce high-quality surMOF film features.

The Food and Drug Administration(FDA) has approved two mechanismbased treatments for tuberous sclero-sis complex(TSC)-everolimus and vigabatrin. However, these treatments have not been systematically studied in individuals with TSC and severe autism. The aim of this review is to identify the clinical features of severe autism in TSC, applicable preclinical models, and potential barriers that may warrant strategic planning in the design phase of clinical trial development. A comprehensive search strategy was formed and searched across Pub Med, embase and SCOPUS from their inception to 2/21/12, 3/16/12, and 3/12/12 respectively. After the final search date, relevant, updated articles were selected from Pub Med abstracts generated electronically and emailed daily from Pub Med. The references of selected articles were searched, and relevant articles were selected. A search of *** was completed using the search term "TSC" and "tuberous sclerosis complex". Autism has been reported in as many as 60% of individuals with TSC; however, review of the literature revealed few data to support clear classification of the severity of autism in TSC. Variability was identified in the diagnostic approach, assessment of cognition, and functional outcome among the reviewed studies and case reports. Objective outcome measures were not used in many early studies; however, diffusion tensor imaging of white matter, neurophysiologic variability in infantile spasms, and cortical tuber subcategories were examined in recent studies and may be useful for objective classification of TSC in future studies. Mechanism-based treatments for TSC are currently available. However, this literature review revealed two potential barriers to successful design and implementation of clinical trials in individuals with severe autism-an unclear definition of the population and lack of validated outcome measures. Objective: This study investigated the ameliorative potential of Zingiber officinale Roscoe extract against lead-induced brain damage in ***: Thirty male rats were divided into 5 groups of 6 rats each. Lead-acetate toxicity was induced by intraperitoneal injection(10 mg/kg body weight(b.w.)) in Groups B–e. Group A(control) and Group B(lead-acetate) were left untreated; vitamin C(200 mg/kg b.w.) was administered to Group C; ethyl acetate fraction from Z. officinale extract(200 and 100 mg/kg b.w.) was administered to Group D and e by oral gavage once daily for 7 days. Changes in the content of some key marker enzymes such as acetylcholinesterase(AChe), butyrylcholinesterase(BChe), monoamine oxidase(MAO), epinephrine, dopamine,Na^+/K^+-ATPase, catalase(CAT), superoxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathione peroxidase(GPx) as well as malonaldehyde(MDA) levels were determined in ***: exposure to lead acetate resulted in a significant decrease(P e activities of BChe,AChe, Na^+/K^+-ATPase, SOD, CAT and GPx with a corresponding increase in the levels of MDA, xanthine oxidase, epinephrine, dopamine and MAO relative to the control group. Levels of all disrupted parameters were alleviated by co-administration of Z. officinale fraction and by the standard drug, vitamin ***: These results suggest that ethyl acetate fraction of Z. officinale extract attenuates leadinduced brain damage and might have therapeutic potential as a supplement that can be applied in lead poisoning.

To investigate the reproducibility of the in vivo endoscopic ultrasound (eUS) - guided needle based confocal endomicroscopy (nCLe) image patterns in an ex vivo setting and compare these to surgical histopathology for characterizing pancreatic cystic lesions (PCLs).MeTHODSIn a prospective study evaluating eUS-nCLe for evaluation of PCLs, 10 subjects underwent an in vivo nCLe (AQ-Flex nCLe miniprobe; Cellvizio, MaunaKea, Paris, France) during eUS and ex vivo probe based CLe (pCLe) of the PCL (Gastroflex ultrahigh definition probe, Cellvizio) after surgical resection. Biopsies were obtained from ex vivo CLe-imaged areas for comparative histopathology. All subjects received intravenous fluorescein prior to eUS and pancreatic surgery for in vivo and ex vivo CLe imaging *** total of 10 subjects (mean age 53 ± 12 years; 5 female) with a mean PCL size of 34.8 ± 14.3 mm were enrolled. Surgical histopathology confirmed 2 intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs), 3 mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs), 2 cystic neuroendocrine tumors (cystic-NeTs), 1 serous cystadenoma (SCA), and 2 squamous lined PCLs. Characteristic in vivo nCLe image patterns included papillary projections for IPMNs, horizon-type epithelial bands for MCNs, nests and trabeculae of cells for cystic-NeTs, and a “fern pattern” of vascularity for SCA. Identical image patterns were observed during ex vivo pCLe imaging of the surgically resected PCLs. Both in vivo and ex vivo CLe imaging findings correlated with surgical *** vivo nCLe patterns are reproducible in ex vivo pCLe for all major neoplastic PCLs. These findings add further support the application of eUS-nCLe as an imaging biomarker in the diagnosis of PCLs.

概念框架将可比性作为有用的财务报告信息质量特征。基于此,本文阐述了可比性是什么,为什么可比性是可取的,如何实现可比性以及什么时候能实现可比。可比性的定性特征,使得财务报告使用者能够识别和理解项目本身的相似之处和不同之处,同时,可比性有助于投资者、贷款人和其他债权人做出明智的资本配置决策。可比性的实现取决于应用一套通用的财务报告准则,特别是准则中有关计量的要求。本文的研究表明,更高的可比性可以降低对跨国投资机会进行比较的成本和提高财务报告信息质量。虽然有关可比性的研究目前已经取得很大进步,但是可比性什么时候实现还需要拭目以待。

Background:Bone stress injuries(BSIs)are common in female runners,and recurrent BSI rates are *** work suggests an association between higher impact loading during running and tibial ***,it is unknown whether impact loading and fatigue-related loading changes discriminate women with a history of multiple *** study compared impact variables at the beginning of a treadmill run to exertion andthe changes in those variables with exertion among female runners with no history of BSI as well as among those with a history of single or multiple ***:We enrolled 45 female runners(aged 18-40 years)for this cross-sectional study:having no history of diagnosed lower extremity BSI(N-BSI,n=14);a history of 1 lower extremity BSI(1-BSI,n=16);and diagnosed by imaging,or a history of multiple(>3)lower extremity BSIs(M-BSI,n=15).Participants completed a 5-km race speed run on an instrumented treadmill while wearing an Inertial Measurement *** vertical average loading rate(VALR),vertical instantaneous loading rate(VILR),vertical stiffness during impact via instrumented treadmill,and tibial shock determined as the peak po sitive tibial acceleration via Inertial Measurement Unit were measured at the beginning and the end of the ***:There were no differences between groups in VALR,VILR,vertical stiffness,or tibial shock in a fresh or exerted ***,compared to N-BSI,women with M-BSI had greater increase with exertion in VALR(-1.8%vs.6.1%,p=0.01)and VILR(1.5%vs.4.8%,p=0.03).Similarly,compared to N-BSI,vertical stiffness increased more with exertion among women with M-BSI(-0.9%vs.7.3%,p=0.006)and 1-BSI(-0.9%vs.1.8%,p=0.05).Finally,compared to N-BSI,the increase in tibial shock from fresh to exerted condition was greater among women with M-BSI(0.9%vs.5.5%,p=0.03)and 1-BSI(0.9%vs.11.2%,p=0.02).Conclusion:Women with 1-BSI or M-BSIs experience greater exertion-related increases in impact loading than women with *** observations impl

Voltage space vector pulse-width modulation(SVPWM) has been widely applied to control current in three-phase voltage source inverters(VSI).However,as a voltage type modulator,SVPWM has certain drawbacks compared with current type modulators for grid-connected *** a grid-connected VSI,the performance of existing current controllers based on SVPWM is compromised by grid harmonics,control delay and system nonlinearities such as switching dead ***,unlike current type PWM,SVPWM does not inherently have over-current protection.A novel SVPWM-based current controller is proposed for three-phase grid-connected VSIs for small wind turbine *** overcome the drawbacks of SVPWM,a grid harmonic compensation method is proposed along with compen-sation for control *** simulation and experimental results have established excellent steady-state response and fast dynamic response of the current *** addition,the DSP-based control system has both improved real-time control performance and fast response for over-current protection.

Mimicry and masquerade from the avian visual perspec-tive

Several of the most celebrated examples of visual mimicry, like mimetic eggs laid by avian brood parasites and pala-table insects mimicking distasteful ones, involve signals directed at the eyes of birds. Despite this, studies of mimicry from the avian visual perspective have been rare, particularly with regard to defensive mimicry and masquerade. Defensive visual mimicry, which includes Batesian and Mtillerian mimicry, occurs when organisms share a visual signal that functions to deter predators. Masquerade occurs when an organism mimics an inedible or uninteresting object, such as a leaf, stick, or pebble. In this paper, I present five case studies covering diverse examples of defensive mimicry and masquerade as seen by birds. The best-known cases of defensive visual mimicry typically come from insect prey, but birds themselves can exhibit defensive visual mimicry in an at- tempt to escape mobbing or dissuade avian predators. Using examples of defensive visual mimicry by both insects and birds, I show how quantitative models of avian color, luminance, and pattern vision can be used to enhance our understanding of mimicry in many systems and produce new hypotheses about the evolution and diversity of signals. Overall, I investigate examples of Batesian mimicry （1 and 2）, Miillerian mimicry （3 and 4）, and masquerade （5） as follows： 1） Polymorphic mimicry in African mocker swallowtail butterflies; 2） Cuckoos mimicking sparrowhawks; 3） Mimicry rings in Neotropical butterflies; 4） Plumage mimicry in toxic pitohuis; and 5） Dead leaf-mimicking butterflies and mantids.

Vanishing bile duct syndrome(VBDS) is a group of rare disorders characterized by ductopenia,the progressive destruction and disappearance of intrahepatic bile ducts leading to *** in association with medications,autoimmune disorders,cancer,transplantation,and infections,the specific mechanisms of disease are not *** date,only 4 cases of VBDS have been reported in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infected *** report 2 additional cases of HIV-associated VBDS and review the features common to the HIV-associated *** includes hyperbilirubinemia,normal liver imaging,and negative viral and autoimmune hepatitis *** HIV-infected subjects,VBDS occurred at a range of CD4+ T-cell counts,in some cases following initiation or change in antiretroviral *** was associated with two cases;nevirapine,antibiotics,and viral co-infection were suggested as etiologies in the other *** HIV-positive patients with progressive cholestasis,early identification of VBDS and referral for transplantation may improve outcomes.
