Rice spouted bed for manufacturing inclusion complexes of Endopleura uchi L extracts in β-cyclodextrin

Uxi (Endopleura uchi) is a plant from the Brazilian Amazon. it has many biological activities that are attributed to its main active component, bergenin (BG), which has low water solubility. The aim of this work was to obtain β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) inclusion complexes of uxi using lyophilized cooked rice as the solid substrate. The process was studied using a Box–Behnken design with the solution feed rate, molar ratio of β-CD to BG, and rice bed load as factors. These factors greatly affected the product bulk density, angle of repose, water content, and BG content, loss, and water solubility. The optimum process conditions determined using a desirability functions methodology were an extract feed rate of 1 mL/min, a ratio of β-CD to BG of 3:1, and a substrate load of 100 g. The predicted values under the optimum conditions were close to the experimental results of a water content of 5.8%± 0.2%, BG content of 985.7 ± 15.4 μg/g, BG water solubility of 2230.2 ± 21.1 μg/mL, and BG loss of 1.2%± 0.1%. These results confirm that spouted beds are an important tool for rapid, one-step preparation of pharmaceutical β-CD inclusion complexes in a solid form.

The Kuril islands constitute a volcanic island arc-trench system, stretching from eastern Hokkaido （Japan） to Kamchatka （Russia） along the northwestern Pacific subduction system, The current arc consists of several volcanic islands mainly with Neogene basement and capped by several, predominantly andesitic, active subduction stratovolcanoes, Kunashir island is the southwestern-most island of the arc, just off the Hokkaido coast and represents the study area in this paper. The island is composed of a Lower Complex of mainly late Miocene to Pliocene volcanic rocks, covered by an Upper Complex of younger （basaltic） andesitic lava flows and tuffs on which currently four active volcanic edifices are built. in the Lower Complex sub-volcanic and deeper-seated intrusives of the so-called Prasolov and Dokuchaev magmatic complexes are found, More differentiated, tonalitic-granodioritic rocks were collected from these small intrusive bodies. An early Oligocene zircon LA-iCP-MS U/Pb age of 31 Ma for the Prasolov Complex was obtained, showing that the basement of Kunashir island is older than previously thought. Thermochronometry （apatite fission-track and U-Th-Sm/He and zircon U-ThJHe analyses） further shows that the magmatic basement of the island was rapidly exhumed in the Pleistocene to present levels in a differential pattern, with He-ages ranging from 1.9 to 0.8 Ma. it is shown that the northern section of the island was hereby exhumed more intensely.

AiM:To investigate the outcomes,as well as risk factors for 6-wk mortality,in patients with early rebleeding after endoscopic variceal band ligation (EVL) for esophageal variceal hemorrhage (EVH).METHODS:Among 817 EVL procedures performed for EVH between January 2007 and December 2008,128 patients with early rebleeding,defined as rebleeding within 6 wk after EVL,were enrolled for ***:The rate of early rebleeding after EVL for acute EVH was 15.6% (128/817).The 5-d,6-wk,3-mo,and 6-mo mortality rates were 7.8%,38.3%,55.5%,and 58.6%,respectively,in these early rebleeding *** use of beta-blockers,occurrence of hypovolemic shock,and higher model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) score at the time of rebleeding were independent predictors for 6-wk mortality.A cut-off value of 21.5 for the MELD score was found with an area under ROC curve of 0.862 (P itivity,specificity,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value were 77.6%,81%,71.7%,and 85.3%,*** for the 6-mo survival rate,patients with a MELD score ≥ 21.5 had a significantly lower survival rate than patients with a MELD score iON:This study demonstrated that the MELD score is an easy and powerful predictor for 6-wk mortality and outcomes of patients with early rebleeding after EVL for EVH.

2.9 反向挤压尽管正向挤压机目前仍然是最常用的设备,而近来发现反向挤压有一些特殊用途,对于挤压硬铝合金和大批量生产的易切削黄铜合金,反向挤压是比较受欢迎的。反向挤压的部分优点是挤压时需要加的载荷较小,金属流动比较均匀,因为铸锭和挤压筒之间不存在相对运动——没有因摩擦而产生的热量。其主要优点是: (a)与正向挤压相比较,挤压力减少25～30％。 (b)利用现有的较大挤压力时,可以挤压较小截面的制品或者可以降低坯锭的挤压温度,允许使用较高的挤压速度。 (c)挤压力不是坯锭长度的函数。
