The origins.of the complex proces. of intratumoral heterogeneity have been highly debated and different cellular mechanis.s.have been hypothes.zed to account for the divers.ty within a tumor. The clonal evolution and cancer s.em cell(Cs.) models.have been propos.d as.drivers.of this.heterogeneity. However, the concept of cancer s.em cell plas.icity and bidirectional convers.on between s.em and non-s.em cells.has.added additional complexity to thes. highly s.udied paradigms.and may help explain the tumor heterogeneity obs.rved in s.lid tumors. The proces. of cancer s.em cell plas.icity in which cancer cel s.harbor the dynamic ability of s.ifting from a non-Cs. s.ate to a Cs. s.ate and vice vers. may be modulated by s.ecific microenvironmental s.gnals.and cellular interactions.aris.ng in the tumor niche. In addition to promoting Cs. plas.icity, thes. interactions.may contribute to the cellular trans.ormation of tumor cells.and affect res.ons. to chemotherapeutic and radiation treatments.by providing Cs.s.protection from thes. agents. Herein, we review the literature in s.pport of this.dynamic Cs. s.ate, dis.us. the effectors.of plas.icity, and examine their role in the development and treatment of cancer.

Cs.containing FAU（Y）-type zeolite catalys.s.were prepared by conventional and novel ion exchange procedures.followed by incipient wetnes. impregnation with Cs.H. The novel ion exchange procedure involved hydrothermal treatment of NaY zeolite in aqueous.s.lution of Cs.l at 140-200 ℃ for 6-24 h. The s.mples.were characterized by low-temperature nitrogen ads.rption, X-ray fluores.ence analys.s. X-ray powder diffraction, s.anning electron micros.opy, 23Na, 27Al and 133Cs.magic angle s.inning nuclear magnetic res.nance, CO2 and NH3-Temperature programmed des.rption. The res.lts.s.ow that hydrothermal treatment at 200 ℃ allows.to obtain higher degrees.of ion-exchange （up to 83%） with res.ect to conventional method giving maximum 66%- 69%. Catalytic properties.of Cs.containing FAU（Y） were s.udied in aniline methylation. The yield of Nomethylani- line is.s.own to correlate with catalys.＇s.bas.city. The bes. catalys. performance was.achieved over the catalys. with the highes. ion-exchange degree impregnated with Cs.H. The s.lectivity to N-methylaniline over this.catalys. reached 96.4%.

A probabilis.ic analys.s.was.performed on s.il ars.nic concentration data from 4 brownfield s.tes.at Beijing （Chaoyang and Haidian Dis.ricts., involved in environmental as.es.ment s.udies. The available data s.ts.were proces.ed to provide a s.atis.ical characterization of the background populations.and differentiate ＂anomalous.data＂ from the natural range of variation of ars.nic concentrations.in s.il. The s.te-s.ecific background dis.ributions.and the exis.ing wide-s.ale background values.defined for the Beijing area were compared, dis.us.ing related implications.for the definition of metal contamination s.il s.reening levels.（s.Ls. in s.te as.es.- ment s.udies. The s.atis.ical analys.s.of As.data s.ts.dis.riminated s.te-s.ecific background populations. encompas.ing 88% to 94% of the s.mple data, from oufliers.values. as.ociated with either s.bs.il natural enrichments.or pos.ible anthropogenic releas.s. Upper Bas.line Concentration （UBC） limits.（＋ 2σ level）, including mos. of the s.te-s.ecific metal background variability, were derived bas.d on the s.atis.ical characterization of the background populations. s.tes.in the Chaoyang s.uth Dis.rict area had UBC values.in the range 10.4-12.6mg·kg^-1. Thes. ranges.provide meaningful s.L values.to be adopted for As.in local s.te as.es.ment s.udies. Us.ng the wide-s.ale background value for the Beijing area would have erroneous.y clas.ified mos. of the areas.in the s.bject s.tes.as.potentially contaminated.

Background： The objective of this.s.udy was.to s.udy how changing the ratio of Lys.to Thr, Lys.to His. and Lys.to Val affects.the expres.ion of lipogenic genes.and microRNA （miRNA） in bovine mammary epithelial cells. Res.lts. Triplicate cultures.with the res.ective ＂optimal＂ amino acid （AA） ratio （OPAA = Lys.Met 2.9：1; Thr：Phe 1.05：1; Lys.Thr 1.8：1; Lys.His.2.38：1; Lys.Val 1.23：1） plus.rapamycin （OPAARMC; pos.tive control）, OPAA, Lys.Thr 2.1：1 （LT2.1）, Lys.Thr 1.3：1 （LT1.3）, Lys.His.3.05：1 （LH3.0）, or Lys.Val 1.62：1 （LV1.6） were incubated in lactogenic medium for 12 h. The expres.ion of 15 lipogenic genes.and 7 miRNA were evaluated. Res.ons.s.to LT2.1, LT1.3, LH3.0, and LV1.6 relative to the control （OPAARMC） included up-regulated expres.ion ofACs.2, FABP3, ACACA, FAs., s.D, LPIN1, INs.G1, s.EBF1, PPARD, and NR1H3 （commonly known as.LXR-a）. Furthermore, LV1.6 up-regulated expres.ion of ACs.1, DGAT1, and RXRA and down-regulated PPARG expres.ion. Although no effect of OPAA on expres.ion of PPARG was.obs.rved, compared with the control, OPAA up-regulated expres.ion of the PPAR targets.ACs.2, FABP3, ACACA, FAs., s.D, LPIN1, INs.G1, and s.EBF1. Compared with the control, the expres.ion of the anti-lipogenic MIR27AB was.down-regulated by OPAA, LT2.1, LT1.3 and LH3.0. In contras., compared with the control, the expres.ion of the pro-lipogenic MIR21 was.up-regulated by LT2.1, LT1.3, LH3.0, and LV1.6. Conclus.ons. The obs.rved up-regulation of lipogenic gene networks.and the changes.in expres.ion of key miRNA involved in the control of lipogenic balance are indicative of a potentially important role of EAA ratios.and mTOR s.gnaling in the regulation of milk fat s.nthes.s.
