Apomictic seed development is a complex process including formation of unreduced embryo sac,parthenogenetic embryo development from the egg cell,and endosperm formation either autonomously,or due to fertilization of polar nuclei by the sperm(under pseudogamous form of apomixis).In the latter case,an obstacle to the normal endosperm development is disturbance of maternal(m)-to-paternal(p)genomic ratio 2m:1p that occurs in the cases of pollination of unreduced embryo sac with haploid *** of tetraploid pollinators can overcome this problem because in such crosses maternal-to-paternal genomic ratio is 4m:2p that provides formation of kernels with plump *** tetraploid lines as pollen parents we observed formation of plump kernels on the ears and panicles of diploid maize and sorghum *** kernels had hybrid endosperm and diploid maternal-type embryo or hybrid embryo with different ploidy level(2n,3n,4n).The frequencies of plump kernels on the ear ranged from 0.2-0.3%to 5.7-6.2%counting from the number of ***-type plants were found in two maize lines,their frequency varying from 10.7 to 37.5%of the progeny *** CMS-lines of sorghum pollinated with tetraploid sorghum accessions,the frequency of plump kernels ranged from 0.6 to 14.0%counting from the number of ovaries;the frequency of maternal-type plants varied from 33.0 up to 96.1%.The hybrid nature of endosperm of the kernels that gave rise to maternal-type plants has been proved by marker gene expression and by SDS-electrophoresis of endosperm *** data testify to variable modes of seed formation under diploid×tetraploid crosses in maize and sorghum both by amphi-and by ***,usage of tetraploid pollinators might be a promising approach for isolation of apomixis in maize and sorghum accessions.

Background:Capacitation is a set of physiological changes sperms undergo to acquire fertilizing *** vivo,this process is directly associated with high calcium levels in sperm ***,the vitamin D hypercalcemic metabolite,is related to human sperm motility,capacitation,and acrosome *** work aimed to study the effect of calcitriol on bull sperm quality parameters and ***:One million freezethawed spermatozoa were obtained from different bulls and treated with 20 nM of calcitriol for 30 *** cells(negative control)and treated ones with calcitriol or heparin(100μg/mL,positive capacitation control)were evaluated for motility,viability,and functional ***(70μM,30 min)treatment was included as a reactive oxygen species(ROS)positive sperm ***:The results elucidated that sperm exposed to 20 nM calcitriol showed higher viability,vigor,and capacitation than their positive and negative *** percentage of sperm with intact plasma and acrosome membranes,mitochondrial membrane potential(ΔΨm),and phosphatidylserine externalization was similar in all the conditions evaluated,while ROS production was higher with heparin and menadione-treated groups than the calcitriol group or negative ***:Our results indicate that calcitriol induces the capacitation of thawed bull spermatozoa and maintains acceptable values of progressive motility,viability,and vigor without altering key biological parameters such as redox status,ΔΨm,and cell death.

To date,numerous studies have been performed to elucidate the complex cellular dynamics in skin diseases,but few have attempted to characterize these cellular events under conditions similar to the native *** address this challenge,a three-dimensional(3D)multimodal analysis platform was developed for characterizing in vivo cellular dynamics in skin,which was then utilized to process in vivo wound healing data to demonstrate its *** attention is focused on in vivo biological parameters that are difficult to study with ex vivo analysis,including 3D cell tracking and techniques to connect biological information obtained from different imaging *** results here open new possibilities for evaluating 3D cellular dynamics in vivo,and can potentially provide new tools for characterizing the skin microenvironment and pathologies in the future.

Dear Editor,Drug repurposing is a convenient alternative when the need for new drugs in an unexpected medical scenario is urgent,as is the case of emerging *** recent years,approaches based on network biology have demonstrated to be superior to genecentric ones.1 Here,we use an innovative methodology that combines mechanistic modeling of the signal transduction circuits related to SARS-CoV-2 infection(the COVID-19 disease map)with a machine-learning algorithm that learns potential causal interactions between proteins,already targets of drugs,and specific signaling circuits in the COVID-19 disease map,to suggest potentially repurposable drugs.

BACKGROUnD Helicobacter pylori(***)is a spiral-shaped bacterium responsible for the development of chronic gastritis,gastric ulcer,gastric cancer(GC),and MALTlymphoma of the *** can be present in the gastric mucosa(GM)in both spiral and coccoid ***,it is not known whether the severity of GM contamination by various vegetative forms of *** is associated with clinical and morphological characteristics and long-term results of GC *** To establish the features of *** infection in patients with GC and their correlations with clinical and morphological characteristics of diseases and long-term results of *** Of 109 patients with GC were included in a prospective cohort *** in the GM and tumor was determined by rapid urease test and by immunohistochemically using the antibody to *** results obtained were compared with the clinical and morphological characteristics and prognosis of *** analysis was performed using the Statistica 10.0 *** *** was detected in the adjacent to the tumor GM in 84.5%of cases,of which a high degree of contamination was noted in 50.4%of the *** forms of *** were detected in 93.4%of infected patients,and only coccoid-in 68.9%.It was found that a high degree of GM contamination by the coccoid forms of *** was observed significantly more often in diffuse type of GC(P=0.024),in poorly differentiated GC(P=0.011),in stage T3-4(P=0.04)and in n1(P=0.011).In cases of moderate and marked concentrations of *** in GM,a decrease in 10-year relapse free and overall survival from 55.6%to 26.3%was observed(P=0.02 and P=0.07,respectively).The relationship between the severity of the GM contamination by the spiral-shaped forms of *** and the clinical and morphological characteristics and prognosis of GC was not *** The data obtained indicates that *** may be associated not only with induction but also wit
