During intraoperative fluorescence navigation to remove various neoplasms and during pharmacokinetic studies of photosensitizers in laboratory animals,in many cases,the ratio of photosensitizer accumulation in the tumor and normal tissue can reach>10-fold,which inevitably changes their optical *** the same time,the tumor formation process causes various metabolic and structural changes at cellular and tissue levels,which lead to changes in optical properties.A hardwaresoftware complex for the spectral-fluorescence studies of the content of fluorochromes in biological tissues with significantly different optical properties was developed,and it was tested on optical phantoms with various concentrations of photosensitizers,absorbers,and *** correct the influence of optical properties on the photosensitizer concentration analysis by fluorescence spectroscopy,we propose the spectrum-processing algorithm,which combines empirical and theory-based approaches.

Objective: Clinical symptoms of otitis media with effusion are rarely brought forward to the guardians of young children who the disease is most prevalent in. This often leads to poor scholastic performances and difficult social interactions. The objective of this study was to identify asymptomatic cases of otitis media with effusion present in individuals with adenoid hypertrophy. Material and Methods: In a cross sectional study advocated in Justice *** Hospital, Karnataka India we evaluated one hundred patients above the age of three from August 2016 to December 2017. Candidates who presented with an adenoid nasopharyngeal ratio of more than 0.5 were selected for the study. Individuals who complained of otological symptoms were not considered for the study. Patients cleared of other pathological otological conditions were underwent audiological evaluation with pure tone audiometry and tympanometry for evaluating the middle ear status and hearing loss. Results: The study showed a total of 36% of patients evaluated presented with asymptomatic otitis media with effusion. In candidates who presented with a bilateral b tympanogram, 40% had significant conductive hearing loss of more than 25db. Conclusion: An objective test such as impedance audiometry in all patients with adenoid hypertrophy would aid in the diagnosis of fluid in the middle ear, so that timely intervention can be done and possible complications be averted.

AIM To uncover novel genetic markers that could contribute to predicting hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)susceptibility in Caucasians. In this study, we report the fabrication of engineered iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs)functionalized with anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor type 2 (HER2) antibody totarget the tumor antigen HER2. The Fc-directed conjugation of antibodies to the MNPs aidstheir efficient immunospecific targeting through free Fab portions. The directional specificity ofconjugation was verified on a macrophage cell line. Immunofluorescence studies on macrophagestreated with functionalized MNPs and free anti-HER2 antibody revealed that the antibodymolecules bind to the MNPs predominantly through their Fc portion. Different cell lines with different HER2 expression levels were used to test the specificity of our functionalized nanoprobe formolecular targeting applications. The results of cell line targeting demonstrate that these engineered MNPs are able to differentiate between cell lines with different levels of HER2 expression.

Novel essentially distinct from already known (methods of hydrogenation of fullerenes (C60 and C70) or fullerite) method for the synthesis of highly hydrogenated carbon molecules is developed;such approach is perspective hydrogen capacity accumulators. First, the reactionary conditions are created for the realization of the process of fullerenization as direct transformation of molecules of aromatic hydrocarbons, pyridine and ethanol into carbon molecules, fulleranes (С60Н8-С60Н60 and С70Н8-С70Н44) and quasi-fulleranes (CnHn-6-CnHn-2 (n = 20 - 46)) containing up to 5.7 wt% hydrogen. X-ray amorphous powders of hydrogenated carbon molecules in gram amounts are obtained. Appreciable dehydrogenation of such samples of fulleranes and quasi-fulleranes at ~50°C is began, while dehydrogenation of synthesized from fullerene (or fullerite) fulleranes is observed only at temperatures above 400°C. Methods of NMR, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry MALDI and temperature-programmed desorption mass spectrometry EI are used for the study of condensed products of fullerenization of precursors molecules.

3’-Deoxy-3’-[18F]Fluorothymidine—[18F]FLT is a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) tracer which has been used for noninvasive assessment of proliferation activity in several types of cancer. During the past few years, some novel approaches for [18F]FLT synthesis have been developed, mainly focused on optimization of reaction conditions and purification methods. The present study reports the use of two different eluents in the final step of [18F]FLT production and the evaluation of its effect on radiochemical yield and product quality. The first eluent evaluated was water: ethanol (90:10, v/v), commercially available, and the second was NaCl 0.9% (saline): ethanol (92:8, v/v). The mean of the corrected radiochemical yields corresponded to 27% ± 7% for elution with water and ethanol and to 23% ± 3% for elution with saline and ethanol, which could indicate that the eluent solutions have similar elution strength. besides, quality control results were in accordance with the requirements and demonstrated that there was no significant difference between both formulations. Considering that pharmaceutical preparations containing ethanol should be preferentially diluted with saline to avoid hemolysis, the eluent saline:ethanol (92:8, v/v) was chosen for [18F]FLT extraction and final formulation.
