In this study, we.isolate. and ide.tifie. the.cultivable.mycobiota associate. with sand and plants colle.te. along the.coast of Gran Canaria (Spain) using culture.de.e.de.t and -inde.e.de.t me.hods. Clinically re.e.ant spe.ie. be.onging to Cryptococcus spp. and re.ate. ge.e.a such as Naganishia and Papilotre.a we.e.isolate. and ide.tifie. from shore.ine.plants. More.ve., Candida tropicalis was isolate. from be.ch sand, and Aspe.gillus fumigatus and Aspe.gillus te.re.s strains we.e.associate. with both type. of sample. (i.e., plants and be.ch sand). We.conclude.that be.ch sand and shore.ine.plants are.pote.tial re.e.voirs of fungi of high clinical inte.e.t.
