Design and selection of advanced protection schemes have become essential for reliable and secure operation of networked *** protection schemes that allow correct operation of microgrids have been proposed for individual systems in different topologies and ***,protection schemes for networked microgrids are still in devel-opment,and further research is required to design and operate advanced protection in interconnected *** of these microgrids in different nodes with various intercon-nection technologies increases fault occurrence and complicates protection *** paper aims to point out challenges in developing protection for networked microgrids,potential solutions,and research areas that need to be addressed for their ***,this article presents a systematic analysis of different microgrid clusters proposed since 2016,including several architectures of networked microgrids,operation modes,components,and utilization of renewable sources,which have not been widely explored in previous review ***,the paper presents a discussion on protection systems currently available for microgrid clusters,current challenges,and solutions that have been proposed for these ***,it discusses the trend of protection schemes in networked microgrids and presents some conclusions related to ***—Adaptive eprotection,microgrid cluster,microgrid,multiple microgrid,networked microgrid,real-time simulation,smart grid.

Recent progress in understanding higher-order chromatin organization in the nucleus has been considerable. From single gene to chromosome territory, realistic biophysical models can now accurately predict some of the structural feature of cell nuclei. Despite growing evidence of a deterministic nuclear organization, the physiological consequence of spatial genome organization is still unclear. In the simple eukaryotic model, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, clear correlation between gene position and transcription has been established. In this review, we will focus on higher-order chromatin organization in yeast with respect to the nuclear envelope and nucleolus. In Arabidopsis thaliana, a model plant for which we have a complete genome sequence, chromosome territory （CT） arrangement and somatic homologous pairing in interphase nuclei seem to occur randomly. Since chromosomes containing nucleolar organizer regions associate more frequently to form a single nucleolar structure, as in yeast, the nucleolus seems to play a major role in organizing nuclear space. Recent findings have begun to elucidate how plant regulatory factors, such as chromatin remodeling or histone chaperones, affect the chromatin state of ribosomal DNA genes located in two distinct CTarrangements in the nucleus. The functional outcome of yeast nuclear organization allowed us to propose how nuclear organization might contribute to a novel type of epigenetic regulation： the spatial regulation of transcription.

The prefrontal cortex (PFC) is involved in complex planning, learning, memory, attention and integrates sensory information. It was reported that the PFC was dysfunctional in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Methylphenidate (MPD), a drug often prescribed for the treatment of ADHD, has potential for abuse and misuse. Most MPD studies were completed in adult subjects;however, most users were adolescents. The objective of this study was to investigate the acute and chronic dose response characteristics of MPD on PFC neuronal activity recorded in freely behaving adolescent rats. Four groups of animals were used: saline (control), 0.6, 2.5, and 10 mg/kg MPD. Acute MPD elicited a dose response increase in animals’ locomotor activity. Rechallenge with MPD at experimental day (ED10) when compared to the effect of MPD at ED1 showed no significant differences. When the animals were divided into two groups based on their individual responses to chronic MPD exposure, some animals expressed behavioral tolerance and some expressed behavioral sensitization. Electrophysiologically, a dose response characteristic for acute and chronic MPD exposure was observed. With increasing MPD doses, more PFC units responded by changing their firing rate. Moreover, the neuronal responses to chronic MPD recorded from animals expressing behavioral tolerance were significantly different compared to the neuronal population responses recorded from animals expressing behavioral sensitization. The majority of the PFC units recorded from animals expressing behavioral tolerance responded to MPD predominately by decreasing their firing rates, whereas PFC units recorded from behaviorally sensitized animals mainly showed an increase in their firing rates.

Migratory movements of organisms have arisen across diverse phylogenetic lines for millions of years （Alerstam, 1990; Drake and Gatehouse, 1995; Dingle, 1996; Greenberg and Marra, 2005; Newton, 2008）. Some movements are only a matter of centimeters over uneven surfaces, as seen in the amoeba slime mold Dic- tyostelium discoideum （Gilbert et al., 2012）. While at the other extreme the annual aerial routings of about 80,000 km achieved by the arctic tern Sterna paradisea （Egevang et al., 2010） are well known as birds travel between breeding grounds in the arcticand southern oceans to overwinter.

Fire protection is an essential public service but also one of the costliest *** resources are devoted to fire protection including equipment,staff,training,and the facilities to house *** stations,in particular,have a significant cost impact on state and municipal *** stations are required in most local governments and like other municipal buildings are central to *** limit the cost of operating a fire station,municipalities have looked to more green building ***-rating systems such as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED)system have been used in the *** assess green ***,this paper aims to analyze 95 certified fire stations under the LEED-NC 2009 version(v3)that are located in the United States.A scorecard analysis(credits and points)of public data available serve as the foundation to describe the status of the green design and construction of these fire *** findings indicate that the points in the Material Resources(MR)category are achieved at the lowest rate compared to the other categories,on average 38%of 14 available points were *** addition,the points in the Energy and Atmosphere(EA)category are one of the lowest achievement rates,equal to 40.2%.The data also shows that 82%of LEED-certified fire stations belong to career or mostly career type,which are municipality fire departments funded by local *** significance of this study is to demonstrate the importance of both MR and EA categories for the design and construction phases of green fire stations.

Effects of storage time on DNA profiling success from archived latent fingerprint samples using an optimised workflow

Due to recent improvements in forensic DNA testing kit sensitivity,there has been an increased demand in the criminal justice community to revisit past convictions or cold *** of these cases have little biological evidence other than touch DNA in the form of archived latent fingerprint lift *** this study,a previously developed optimised workflow for this sample type was tested on aged fingerprints to determine if improved short tandem repeat(STR)profiles could be ***-year-old samples processed with the optimised workflow produced an average of approximately five more STR alleles per profile over the traditional *** optimised workflow also produced detectable alleles in samples aged out to 28 *** the methods tested,the optimised workflow resulted in the most informative profiles from evidence samples more representative of the forensic *** workflow is recommended for use with archived latent fingerprint samples,regardless of the archival time.

A growing number of natural hazard-triggered technological accidents(Natech)has been reported by several researchers,and this trend is expected to continue due to climate *** a result,some governments have initiated direct efforts to manage Natech risks,particularly in the United States and ***,two surveys conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD)in 2009 and 2017 found that there was a lack of proper risk management and risk governance for Natech among OECD member states,including Japan and South *** study aimed to identify relevant regulations and practical considerations for chemical and Natech risk management from government perspectives in Japan and South *** article provides a review of the current state of risk management,emergency response,and risk communication on chemical and Natech risk management in the two countries,and concludes with a discussion of some of the issues that require improvement of the current chemical risk *** practices for chemical risk management in Japan and South Korea point to the possibility of improvements in dealing with the Natech *** practical lessons will be valuable for improving the capacity for dealing with challenges in chemical and Natech risk management.
