In this study,we focus on the alteration of the programmed cell death 1(PD-1)/PD-L1 pathway in celiac *** discuss the diverse roles of the PD-1 pathway in regulating immune responses and how this knowledge can improve celiac disease(CD)*** PD-1 and PD-L1 levels in the serum and in intestinal biopsies of CD patients may be relevant to the determination of a possible correlation between markers of the autoimmune response,inflammation,and disease activity.

AIM: To define NGF (nerve growth factor) and its high- affinity receptor trkANGF presence and distribution in fibrotic liver and in HCC, and to verify if NGF might have a role in fibrosis and HCC. METHODS: Intracellular distribution of NGF and trkANGF were assessed by immunohistochemistry and immuno- electron microscopy in liver specimens from HCC, cirrhosis or both. ELISA was used to measure circulating NGF levels. RESULTS: NGF and trkANGF were highly expressed in HCC tissue, mainly localized in hepatocytes, endothelial and some Kupffer cells. In the cirrhotic part of the liver they were also markedly expressed in bile ducts epithelial and spindle-shaped cells. Surprisingly, in cirrhotic tissue from patients without HCC, both NGF and trkANGF were negative. NGF serum levels in cirrhotic and/or HCC patient were up to 25-fold higher than in controls. CONCLUSION: NGF was only detected in liver tissue with HCC present. Intracellular distribution suggests paracrine and autocrine mechanisms of action. Better definition of mechanisms may allow for therapeutic and diagnostic/prognostic use of NGF.

Background:Split skin grafting(SSG)is the cornerstone in the treatment of deep burns and large skin *** used donor sites are the thigh,abdomen and *** scalp is less common while considered as a reliable donor *** are a large surface area,rapid wound healing,cosmetically favourable results and multiple harvests from the same donor *** include scab formation,chronic folliculitis and alopecia but have been recorded sporadically in previous *** article evaluates the complication rate of the scalp donor site in the treatment of deep burns in the Beverwijk Burn ***:A retrospective study was performed of all patients who received a skin graft from the scalp at the Beverwijk Burn Centre between January 2004 and December *** were collected from medical files of included patients,including gender,age,type of burn(scald,flame,other)and total body surface area(TBSA)burned at the time of first *** variables were healing time of the donor site and incidence of *** follow-up,the incidence of late complications was ***:A total number of 105 grafts were analysed in 93 patients:58 males(62%)and 35 females(38%),with a median age of 2 years and 3 months *** the patients,30(32%)had flame burns and 57(61%)had scald ***-seven percent of patients had a TBSA burned of 5%or *** donor sites healed within 14 *** alopecia or scar hypertrophy developed at the donor *** patients(2.2%)developed folliculitis;one patient(1.1%)showed scab ***:The scalp as a donor site in our Burn Centre shows a comparable short-term complication rate to the previous literature,with quick healing and no long-term ***,we propose the consideration of the scalp as a primary donor site,especially in young children,where the scalp offers a larger donor site area than the buttocks or thighs.

BACKGROUND Percutaneous bilateral biliary stenting is an established method for the management of unresectable malignant hilar biliary *** To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a novel uncovered biliary stent, specifically designed for hilar *** This, single-center, retrospective study included 18 patients(mean age 71 ± 11 years;61.1% male) undergoing percutaneous transhepatic Moving cell stent(MCS) placement for hilar reconstruction using the stent-in-stent technique for malignant biliary strictures, between November 2020 and July 2021. The Patients were diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma(12/18;66.6%), gallbladder cancer(5/18;27.7%), and colorectal liver metastasis(1/18;5.5%). Primary endpoints were technical(appropriate stent placement) and clinical(relief from jaundice) success. Secondary endpoints included stent patency, overall survival, complication rates and stent-related *** The technical and clinical success rates were 100%(18/18 cases). According to Kaplan-Meier analysis, the estimated overall patient survival was 80.5% and 60.4% at 6 and 12 mo respectively, while stent patency was 90.9% and 68.2% at 6 mo and 12 mo respectively. The mean stent patency was 172.53 ± 56.20 d and median stent patency was 165 d(range 83-315). Laboratory tests for cholestasis significantly improved after procedure: mean total bilirubin decreased from 15.2 ± 6.0 mg/d L to 1.3 ± 0.4 mg/d L(P < 0.001);mean γGT decreased from 1389 ± 832 U/L to 114.6 ± 53.5 U/L(P < 0.001). One periprocedural complication was reported. Stent-related complications were observed in 5 patients(27.7%), including 1 occlusion(5.5%) and 1 stent migration(5.5 %).CONCLUSION Percutaneous hilar bifurcation biliary stenting with the MCS resulted in excellent clinical and technical success rates, with acceptable complication rates. Further studies are needed to confirm these initial positive results.

Galtung （1998a） held that there are two ways of covering a conflict： the low road and the high road; each road is different in focus. The first is called war journalism and the second is called peace journalism. Based on this, a specialized journalism model on conflict coverage was created： peace journalism. The principles and actions of this model could be used to analyze the making of news that responds to the criteria of peace journalism. In other words, they can be applied in two separate ways, either as tools for the analysis of information on conflicts or as guidelines to create new information. This article focuses on the first approach, the content analysis, to determine if the analyzed news is oriented to either War journalism or peace journalism, according to what peace journalism proposes. The author cares about how the ideology influence in this point. The author analyzed three major newspapers, on its online version： The New York Times, USA; La Jornada, M6xico, and El Mundo, Spain. The first two could be considered left-wing newspapers and the last one is right-wing oriented. The issues covered by the newspapers were the Mexican government war against drugs principally, and issues related with the war against drugs in the world. The results show that the newspaper who scored best and was located within the standards of peace journalism is El Mundo.

Background:Recent investigations highlighted that Hermetia illucens(BSF)larva meal can be a valuable alternative protein source for aquafeed *** this study,in substitution of fishmeal,we used increasing inclusion levels of a partially defatted BSF larva meal in low fishmeal-based diets for rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum)and we evaluated the related implications in terms of growth performance,physical characteristics,proximate and fatty acid(FA)compositions of the fillets,gut and liver histology,and diet *** a 131-day trial,576 fish(100.1±9.29 g)were randomly allotted to 24 tanks(24 fish/tank,4 replicates/treatment).Six experimental diets were produced to have partial replacement of fishmeal(0,10%,20%,30%,40%and 50%)by increasing levels of BSF meal(0%[BSF0],3%[BSF3],6%[BSF6],9%[BSF9],12%[BSF12]and 15%[BSF15]on as fed basis,respectively).Results:No differences were observed among the treatments for all the considered growth performance *** viscero and hepato-somatic indexes showed significant differences among the treatments,with the highest values observed in the BSF15 *** differences were recorded in terms of fillet’s physical characteristics,dry matter(DM),crude protein(CP)and ether extract(EE)*** saturated and monounsaturated FA increased,while polyunsaturated FA(particularly n-3 FA)decreased while increasing the HI meal inclusion in the *** of liver and gut was not affected,whereas,in posterior gut,villi were higher in BSF6 and BSF9 compared to BSF3 *** apparent digestibility of DM,CP,EE and gross energy did not vary among the ***:These results suggest that a partially defatted BSF meal could be included up to 15%in low fishmeal-based diets for rainbow trout with no adverse effects on growth performance,fillet’s physical characteristics,gut and liver health,and diet *** the contrary,the fillet FA composition worsened while increasing the level of BSF

The paper focuses on Toni Morrison＇s latest novel God Help the Child （2015）. By presenting a skillful though somewhat perverse merger of binary oppositions at different levels （racial, social, moral, and psychological）, the writer makes borderlines of all sorts appear artificial and therefore invalidates them. Thus, childhood merges with adulthood through sexual traumas that live on; touch with no touch as the evil touch of a parent equals an abhorrence of touching the child Other; truth with a lie as it proves as destructive as lying in good faith; passing blackness with blue blackness as the former conceives the latter; and appearances with reality in the ironic title of the book, where it is both the mother and the child that in fact need God＇s help. Thus, as Toni Morrison demonstrates, a thoroughly surreptitious, because natural, process of dissolution of all barriers makes them appear to be arbitrary constructs responsible for the equally arbitrary notion of the Other. Taking an utterly holistic view of the nature of things, Morrison seems to suggest that borderlines are a consequence and a manifestation of a lack of balance, which therefore needs to be redressed through love, mutual understanding, and maturation.

Demythologizing the South： Cormac McCarthy＇s Suttree in an Intertextual Perspective

The article is structured around a premise of intertextuality, which is suggested not only by McCarthy＇s own more or less overt allusions to Faulkner＇s writing but also by the very name of his protagonist Suttree, which is evocative of the name of perhaps the best known Faulkner villain Thomas Sutpen. This supposition in turn leads to an argument that in his 1979 novel McCarthy does indeed reverse the life story of Thomas Sutpen by making Suttree descend down the very path that Sutpen ascended a century and a half before him, i.e., from the ranks of Southern aristocracy to the scum of the earth, and in defiance of the same ideology that Sutpen went to great lengths to embrace. Thus, an intertextual and comparative approach to McCarthy＇s novel not only in the context of Faulkner＇s Absalom, Absalom! but also his Light in August （cf. Joe Christmas） and The Sound and the Fury （cf. Quentin） as well as Ellen Glasgow＇s short story ＂Jordan＇s End＂ demonstrates that what Cormac McCarthy actually does in Suttree is to demythologize the South, complete with its aristocratic pretensions （＂doing pretty＂）, dubious morality （incest） and fear of miscegenation （obsession with time and the double）. Moreover, in doing so, he defamiliarizes it by reducing it to its Other （poor whites and African Americans）, whose authenticity, liveliness and charitability defy the affectation, lifelessness and decadence of the aristocratic South.

In Chile, the study of international relations is very limited both in the number of programs and in its scope. Furthermore, it is still a country where international relations are under the umbrella of political science and political science itself is heavily influenced by the study of the law. This paper looks at the development of international relations both as a tool for training diplomats and as a topic of study within political science in Chile. It does so within the framework of the social sciences. Using interviews as a complimentary tool of research, it concludes that, along with a marked influence of economics in the study of social sciences in Chile, the country＇s political and social history has shaped the advent of social sciences at the undergraduate level and has dwarfed the growth and contents of both political science and international studies, in spite of the country＇s successful embrace of globalization.
