Perovskites as host structures of cations were used in order to generate in situ active and stable catalysts for ethanol steam reforming. For this purpose,la_(1-x)Mg_xAl_(1-y)Ni_yO_3(x = 0.1; y = 0,0.1,0.2,0.3) perovskites were synthetized by the citrate *** segregation is evident for a substitution level higher than 0. 2. The segregation of Ni as NiO generated species interacts with different metal-support after the reduction step. The y = 0.1 catalyst presents the highest H_2 yield value about 85% during reaction time,with low mean values of CH_4 and CO selectivities of 3.4% and 11%,respectively and a low carbon formation. The better performance of y = 0.1 catalyst could be attributed to the minor proportion of segregated phases,thus a controlled expulsion of Ni is successfully reached.

Montenegro’s intradermal test was ***-stained touch preparation of the skin biopsy revealed amastigotes inside macrophages,consistent with *** patient was treated with meglumine antimoniate intramuscular(20 mg of Sb+/kg/day) three weeks,with complete cicatrization of the lesion.

Six new high precision U-Pb zircon ID-TIMS ages plus thirteen in situ high spatial resolution U-Pb zircon la-MC-ICPMS ages are reported from Jurassic plutonic(metaluminous to weakly peraluminous biotite granites)and Jurassic to Cretaceous hypabyssal(dacites)rocks from *** its relatively small area(~30 km^2),the new ages tightly constrain the Macao granitic magmatism to two periods ranging from 164.5±0.6 Ma to 162.9±0.7 Ma and 156.6±0.2 Ma to 155.5±0.8 Ma,separated by ca.6 *** zircons point to the existence of a basement with ages up to Paleo-Proterozoic and late Archean in the *** addition,younger dacitic rocks were dated at 150.6±0.6 Ma andranites indicate that the first pulse is also represented in Hong Kong and Southeast(SE)China,while magmatism with the chemical characteristics of the second pulse seems to not be represented outside *** two granitic magmatic pulses have distinct mineralogical and geochemical features that support their discrete nature rather than a continuum of comagmatic activity and suggest that the Macao granitic suite was incrementally assembled during a period of ca.9 Ma,a hypothesis also extendable to the neighboring Hong Kong region for a time lapse of ca.24 *** Macao,the transition from granitic magmatism(Middle to Upper Jurassic)to the younger dacite dykes(Upper Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous)most likely corresponds to a change in the regional tectonic setting,from an extensional regime related with foundering of the subducting paleoPacific plate during the Early Yanshanian period to the reestablishment of a normal subduction system in SE China during the late Yanshanian period.

Mediastinal Liposarcoma: Case Report and Literature Review

Liposarcomas (LS) are the second most common type of soft tissue malignancies in adults;they arise from mesenchymal cells and account for 1% of all adult cancers and 15% of all pediatric cancers. The site of origin can be from anywhere there is fat in the human body. LS are classified based on the primary site of origin, and mediastinal LS are extremely rare. When mediastinal neoplasms are stratified based on histology, they represent less than 1% of all mediastinal tumors. To date, less than 150 cases have been reported in the English literature. This article aims to present an unusual case of an extremely rare malignancy and perform a systematic review of the latest literature. In this report, our group is documenting the presentation, management, and outcome of a 65-year-old male patient with a massive anterior mediastinal primary LS. The tumor was displacing the mediastinum into the right chest, occupying most of the left chest, and pushing the diaphragm into the abdomen. Mediastinal liposarcomas are extremely rare malignancies and can prove to be challenging to diagnose and treat. Aggressive surgical treatment with R0 resection is the gold standard, however, tumor biology in many cases is associated with variable growth rates and encroachment of adjacent vital structures and blood vessels. When complex anatomical structures preclude an R0 resection, there is a high incidence of local recurrence. In cases where there is a high risk of recurrence, radiotherapy is indicated and chemotherapy has a more limited role.

Tumour cells have exquisite flexibility in reprogramming their metabolism in order to support tumour initiation, progression,metastasis and resistance to therapies. These reprogrammed activities include a complete rewiring of the bioenergetic, biosyntheticand redox status to sustain the increased energetic demand of the cells. Over the last decades, the cancer metabolism field hasseen an explosion of new biochemical technologies giving more tools than ever before to navigate this complexity. Within a cell ora tissue, the metabolites constitute the direct signature of the molecular phenotype and thus their profiling has concrete clinicalapplications in oncology. Metabolomics and fluxomics, are key technological approaches that mainly revolutionized the fieldenabling researchers to have both a qualitative and mechanistic model of the biochemical activities in cancer. Furthermore, theupgrade from bulk to single-cell analysis technologies provided unprecedented opportunity to investigate cancer biology at cellularresolution allowing an in depth quantitative analysis of complex and heterogenous diseases. More recently, the advent offunctional genomic screening allowed the identification of molecular pathways, cellular processes, biomarkers and noveltherapeutic targets that in concert with other technologies allow patient stratification and identification of new treatmentregimens. This review is intended to be a guide for researchers to cancer metabolism, highlighting current and emergingtechnologies, emphasizing advantages, disadvantages and applications with the potential of leading the development ofinnovative anti-cancer therapies.

We characterized the transcriptomic response of transgenic plants carrying a mitochondrial dysfunction induced by the expression of the unedited form of the ATP synthase subunit 9. The u-ATP9 transgene driven by A9 and APETAla3 promoters induce mitochondrial dysfunction revealed by a decrease in both oxygen uptake and adenine nucleo- tides （ATP, ADP） levels without changes in the ATIP/ADP ratio. Furthermore, we measured an increase in ROS accumulation and a decrease in glutathione and ascorbate levels with a concomitant oxidative stress response. The transcriptome analysis of young Arabidopsis flowers, validated by qRT-PCR and enzymatic or functional tests, showed dramatic changes in u-ATP9 plants. Both lines display a modification in the expression of various genes involved in carbon, lipid, and cell wall metabolism, suggesting that an important metabolic readjustment occurs in plants with a mitochondrial dysfunction. Interestingly, transcript levels involved in mitochondrial respiration, protein synthesis, and degradation are affected. More- over, the levels of several mRNAs encoding for transcription factors and DNA binding proteins were also changed. Some of them are involved in stress and hormone responses, suggesting that several signaling pathways overlap. Indeed, the tran- scriptome data revealed that the mitochondrial dysfunction dramatically alters the expression of genes involved in signaling pathways, including those related to ethylene, absicic acid, and auxin signal transduction. Our data suggest that the mitochondrial dysfunction model used in this report may be useful to uncover the retrograde signaling mechanism between the nucleus and mitochondria in plant cells.

Among the several types of inorganic nanoparticles available,silica nanoparticles(SNP)have earned their relevance in biological applications namely,as bioimaging *** fact,uorescent SNP(FSNP)have been explored in this-eld as protective nanocarriers,overcoming some limitations presented by conventional organic dyes such as high photobleaching rates.A crucial aspect on the use of uorescent SNP relates to their surface properties,since it determines the extent of interaction between nanoparticles and biological systems,namely in terms of colloidal stability in water,cellular recognition and internalization,tracking,biodistribution and speci-city,among ***,it is imperative to understand the mechanisms underlying the interaction between biosystems and the SNP surfaces,making surface functionalization a relevant step in order to take full advantage of particle *** versatility of the surface chemistry on silica platforms,together with the intrinsic hydrophilicity and biocompatibility,make these systems suitable for bioimaging applications,such as those mentioned in this review.

Dicyphus maroccanus Wagner and Nesidiocoris tenuis Reuter （Hemiptera： Miridae） are 2 biological control agents in tomatoes. Through the crop seasons, a natural shift in the occurrence of both mirids in favor ofN. tenuis has been observed at the end of the cropping cycle in eastern Spain. To better optimize their conservation, the reasons for the observed change, such as intraguild interactions （IGP） or the influence of environmental conditions, are worth elucidating. To do this, we first studied the IGP of adult females on heterospecific nymphs in the laboratory. We next studied exploitative competition between adults and nymphs of each species when feeding on Ephestia kueniella Zeller （Lepidoptera： Pyralidae） eggs in the laboratory. Finally, to analyze the competitive displacement between both mirids, we conducted a semifield experiment in which both predators were released together. All experiments were conducted at 2 temperature regimes （20 and 25~C）. Adult- to-nymph intraguild interactions occurred only at 25 ~C at very low levels, showing that N. tenuis attacked and consumed a greater proportion ofheterospecific nymphs. Nesidiocoris tenuis was a better competitor than D. maroccanus when feeding on the shared prey in the presence of its heterospecific nymph at 25 ~C. In semifield conditions, N. tenuis showed a competitive advantage over D. maroccanus at both temperatures. We conclude that there is not direct interference between both species, however, N. tenuis has a greater ability to outcompete, since it is best adapted to higher temperatures and it is able to remove food sources for D. maroccanus.
