A comparative study on the reactivity of charged Ni-rich and Ni-poor positive electrodes with electrolyte at elevated temperatures using accelerating rate calorimetry

The reactivity between charged Li(Li_(0.115)Mn_(0.529)Ni_(0.339)Al_(0.017))O_(2)(Li-rich),single crystal Li(Ni_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1))O_(2)(SC-NMC811),LiFePO_(4)(LFP) and LiMn_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)PO_(4)(LMFP) positive electrodes at different states of charge(SOCs) and traditional carbonate-based electrolyte at elevated temperatures is systematically studied using accelerating rate calorimetry(ARC).The results show that the SOC greatly affects the thermal stability of the Li-rich and SC-NMC811 when traditional carbonate-based electrolyte is *** an increase in the SOC increases the energy density of lithium-ion cells,it also increases the reactivity between charged Li-rich and SC-NMC811 samples with electrolyte at elevated *** comparison with SC-NMC811,the Li-rich samples are much more stable at elevated temperatures,and the latter have higher specific ***-NMC811 samples are less reactive than traditional polycrystalline *** LFP and LMFP samples show excellent thermal stability at elevated *** substitution of Fe by Mn in the olivine series positive materials does not impact the reactivity with electrolyte.

Protein modification by SUMO modulates essential biological processes in eukaryotes. SUMOylation is facilitated by sequential action of the El-activating, E2-conjugating, and E3-1igase enzymes. In plants, SUMO regulates plant development and stress responses, which are key determinants in agricultural productivity. To generate additional tools for advancing our knowledge about the SUMO biology, we have developed a strategy for inhibiting in vivo SUMO conjugation based on disruption of SUMO El-E2 interactions through expression of E1 SAE2uFDct domain. Targeted mutagenesis and phylogenetic analyses revealed that this inhibition involves a short motif in SAE2uFDct highly divergent across kingdoms. Transgenic plants expressing the SAE2UFDCt domain displayed dose-dependent inhibition of SUMO conjugation, and have revealed the existence of a post-transcriptional mechanism that regulates SUMO E2 conjugating enzyme levels. Interestingly, these transgenic plants displayed increased suscep- tibility to necrotrophic fungal infections by botrytis cinerea and Plectosphaerella cucumerina. Early after fungal inoculation, host SUMO conjugation was post-transcriptionally downregulated, suggesting that targeting SUMOylation machinery could constitute a novel mechanism for fungal pathogenicity. These findings support the role of SUMOylation as a mechanism involved in plant protection from environmental stresses. In addition, the strategy for inhibiting SUMO conjugation in vivo described in this study might be applicable in important crop plants and other non-plant organisms regardless of their genetic complexity.

Organic/Inorganic hybrid materials have been attracting much attention since they combine the advantages of inorganic materials with the properties of organic polymers. Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2) present good thermal stability, accessibility and catalytic properties. Polycaprolactone (PCL) is a bi-ocompatible and bioresorbable material, which is being examined as biode-gradable packaging materials, controlled drug release carriers and other medical applications. Hybrids based on PCL containing different amounts of titanium dioxide nanoparticles, ranging from 0.05% to 0.35% w/w, were prepared using the solution cast method. These systems were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The FTIR analysis confirmed that there was an interaction between the PCL chains and the TiO2 nanoparticles. The XRD and DSC analysis showed that the PCL crystallization was affected by TiO2 incorporation, modifying its semi-crystalline structure to a less ordered structure. When TiO2 nanoparticles were added the values of T1H and T1ρH increased for all hybrids, therefore, their addition produced a new material with less molecular mobility. In the TG analysis, it was observed that the introduction of TiO2 nanoparticles decreased the thermal resistance of PCL. In DSC analysis, the PCL/TiO2 hybrids presented a reduction in the crystallization temperature and degree of crystallinity, except for PCL hybrids containing 0.15% w/w of TiO2 nanoparticles.

We examined a cohort of 93 cystic fibrosis(CF)male patients who were pancreatic-sufficient(PS-CF;n=40)or pancreatic-insufficient(PI-CF;n=53).Complex semen examination was performed,including standard semen analysis,quantitative karyological analysis(QKA)of immature germ cells(IGCs),transmission electronic microscopy(TEM),biochemical analysis,and sperm DNA fragmentation by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nickend labeling(TUNEL)*** was diagnosed in 83(89.2%)*** other 10(10.8%)patients were found to be nonazoospermic and showed various spermatological diagnoses(asthenozoospermia,n=2;asthenoteratozoospermia,n=3;oligoasthenozoospermia,n=1;oligoasthenoteratozoospermia,n=3;and normozoospermia,n=1)with no specific morphological *** was detected in 89.2%azoospermic and 30.0%nonazoospermic *** seminal pH(by QKA of *** content of fructose and citrate was low in oligospermic and normal in nonoligospermic semen *** increased percentage(>30%)of spermatozoa with noncondensed(“immature”)chromatin was revealed in 2 of 6 nonazoospermic semen samples analyzed by TEM.

background:The barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(bCLC)system has been endorsed by international guidelines as a staging algorithm of hepatocellular *** analysis was performed to assess the outcome of liver transplantation in patients treated against the bCLC ***:The data of 198 patients who underwent liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma were extracted from a prospectively maintained database to classify the patients according to the bCLC ***:bCLC staging was as follows:0,n=5;A,n=77;b,n=41;C,n=53;and D,n=***,liver transplantation was performed in the majority of patients against bCLC ***(n=16),radiofrequency ablation(n=15)and transarterial chemoembolization(n=151)preceded liver transplantation in 182 *** patients were transplanted without *** 1-,5-and 10-year survival rates were 83.8%,62.4%and 45.9%,and 1-,5-,and 10-year recurrence rates were 7.7%,22.7%and 26.7%.The bCLC classification did neither impact survival(P=0.796)nor recurrence(P=0.693).In the Cox analysis,RECIST tumor progression and initial alpha fetoprotein were independent predictors of ***:Neither the oncological nor the functional stratification imposed by the bCLC system was of importance for *** of flexibility and disregard of biological parameters hamper its clinical applicability in liver transplantation.
