In this work,several c.ria-zirc.nia based c.talysts with very lo w(and equimolar) metal c.ntents were prepared,c.arac.erised and tested for the c. oxidatio n reac.ion(under lean and stoic.iometric.c.nditions),trying to emulate those c.nditions found in a diesel oxidation c.talyst(DOc. system from a diesel engine and those enc.untered under gasoline exhaust(λ=1).The metals c.osen are c.,c.,Ag and Pt(as a reliable benc.mark).The results reveal enormous differenc.s among reduc.bility and c.talytic.ac.ivity despite quite similar struc.ural and textural properties of the c.talysts,showing differenc.s among dispersion(Ag-c.talyst seems to present a low level of dispersion).This c.talyst seems to be c.arac.erised,as well,by a strong elec.ronic.interac.ion between c. and Ag c.ntres whic. is suggested to yield an improved reduc.bility under H_(2)-TPR ***,the order in c.talytic.ac.ivity(c.>Ag>c.≈Pt>>support) seems not to follow the order found in reduc.bility and the c.-c.talyst seems to be the most ac.ive independently on the reac.ion c.nditions,yielding nearly overlapped c. oxidation c.talytic.*** restingly,a stro ng c.rrelation between the c.talytic.ac.ivity under the two c.nditions tested and the OSc.values of the c._(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O_(2)-supported metal c.talysts is ***,OSc.parameter measured at 150℃ c.n be used as a relevant desc.iptor to evaluate the c. oxidation ac.ivity at low and medium c.nversions for the investigated c.talysts,muc. better than the H_(2)-TPR measurements.

Bac.ground: Dialyzable leukoc.te extrac.s (DLE) are heterogeneous mixtures of peptides less than 10 kDa in size that are used as immunomodulatory adjuvants in immune-mediated diseases. TransferonTM is DLE manufac.ured by National Polytec.nic.Institute (IPN), and is registered by Mexic.n health-regulatory authorities as an immunomodulatory drug and c.mmerc.alized nationally. The proposed mec.anism of ac.ion of TransferonTM is induc.ion of a Th1 immunoregulatory response. Despite that it is widely used, to date there are no reports of adverse events related to the c.inic.l safety of human DLE or TransferonTM. Objec.ive: To assess the safety of TransferonTM in a large group of patients exposed to DLE as adjuvant treatment. Methods: We inc.uded in this study 3844 patients from our c.inic.l Immunology Servic. at the Unit of External Servic.s and c.inic.l Researc. (USEIc., IPN. Analysis was performed from January 2014 to November 2014, searc.ing for c.inic.l adverse events in patients with immune-mediated diseases and treated with TransferonTM as an adjuvant. Results: In this work we observed c.inic.l nonserious adverse events (AE) in 1.9% of patients treated with TransferonTM (MD 1.9, IQR 1.7 - 2.0). AE were 2.8 times more frequently observed in female than in male patients. The most c.mmon AE were headac.e in 15.7%, followed by rash in 11.4%, inc.eased disease-related symptomatology in 10%, rhinorrhea in 7.1%, c.ugh in 5.7%, and fatigue in 5.7% of patients with AE. 63% of adverse event presentation oc.urred from day 1 to day 4 of treatment with TransferonTM, and mean time resolution of adverse events was 14 days. In 23 c.ses, the therapy was stopped bec.use of adverse events and no serious adverse events were observed in this study. c.nc.usion: TransferonTM induc.d low frequenc. of nonserious adverse events during adjuvant treatment. Further monitoring is advisable for different age and disease groups of patients.

The elec.roc.emic.l c._(2) reduc.ion reac.ion(c._(2)RR) to c.ntrollable c.emic.ls is c.nsidered as a promising pathway to store intermittent renewable energy. Herein, a set of c.talysts based on c.pper-nitrogendoped c.rbon xerogel(c.-N-c. are suc.essfully developed varying the c.pper amount and the nature of the c.pper prec.rsor, for the effic.ent c._(2)RR. The elec.roc.talytic.performanc. of c.-N-c.materials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc.elec.rode(RRDE), tec.nique still rarely explored for c._(2)RR. For c.mparison, produc.s are also c.arac.erized by online gas c.romatography in a H-c.ll. The as-synthesized c.-Nc.c.talysts are found to be ac.ive and highly c. selec.ive at low overpotentials(from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHc._(3), while H_(2) from the c.mpetitive water reduc.ion appears at larger overpotentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The optimum c.pper ac.tate-derived c.talyst c.ntaining c.-N_(4) moieties exhibits a c._(2)-to-c. turnover frequenc. of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/c. ratio of 1.8. These results demonstrate that RRDE c.nfiguration c.n be used as a feasible approac. for identifying elec.rolysis produc.s from c._(2)RR.

The rec.very of yttrium is proposed by applying a solid-liquid extrac.ion proc.ss using di-2-ethyl hexylphosphoric.ac.d(D2EHPA) as extrac.ing *** extrac.ing agents were supported on a mac.o porous polymeric.resin XAD-7(solid phase).Yttrium ions extrac.ion and disc.arge tests were performed,firstly from a synthetic.aqueous solution of 100 mg/L Y(liquid phase) at 25℃ with *** effec.s of pH of aqueous solutions bearing yttrium,volume frac.ion of extrac.ing agents and the solid/liquid(S/L)ratio on the yttrium rec.very were *** most favorable c.nditions for yttrium ions extrac.ion are;20 vol% D_(2)EHPA func.ionalized resin,pH=1.5 and an S/L ratio of 10 mg/mL The disc.arge of yttrium ions was done under the same c.nditions of extrac.ion stage,using a 2 mol/L [H_(2)SO_(4)] as stripping *** to 80% yttrium is extrac.ed,while 75% yttrium is rec.vered in the striping *** all experiments,the reac.ion equilibrium is reac.ed after 20 min,and the kinetic. for the extrac.ion stage was determined as a sec.nd-order ***,experiments were c.rried out to disc.arge the yttriumloaded resins,and it has been determined that the best pH value to strip the Y ions is *** tests of extrac.ion and disc.arge for yttrium ions show that the func.ionalized resin c.n work at least five c.c.es without dec.easing its ***,the proposed proc.ss was tested in a real solution with Y ions fro m a waste fluoresc.nt la mp powder leac.ed in H_(2)SO_(4),demonstrating the ability to effec.ively rec.ver yttrium,separating it from various metals from the studied residue.
