Introduction: Hem.topoietic stem.cell transplantation (HSCT) often requires a central venous catheter (CVC) for quick and safe vascular access. Currently, new technologies are available to protect the catheter insertion site, such as chlorhexidine-im.regnated gel dressings (CIGD). Objectives: To evaluate local cutaneous effects associated with CIGD in patients undergoing HSCT. m.thods: In this cross-sectional, prospective study, we evaluated 25 HSCT patients who had a CVC inserted. Patients were visited daily to m.nitor the CIGD changing procedures and evaluate abnorm.lities of the underlying skin after dressing rem.val. Findings: Local erythem. was the m.st frequently detected abnorm.lity, although usually transient and considered secondary to the m.chanical traum. of dressing rem.val. The m.st severe lesions, consisting of areas of skin loss, erythem.tous plaques and/or vesicles were classified as skin irritation and presented in 11 (44%) of the 25 patients. An association test showed that skin irritation was m.re frequent in patients who underwent allogeneic HSCT (p = 0.03). Skin irritation was m.st frequently observed in areas of contact with the non-woven polyester adhesive tape (n = 22;88%), which m.de up the adhesive m.rgins of the dressing. The CIGD was discontinued in 6 (54%) of the 11 patients who presented severe skin injuries. Conclusion: In this study, we detected that skin irritation was m.re frequent in patients who underwent allogeneic HSCT. The m.st com.on skin m.nifestation was skin loss.

With the expansion of eucalyptus crops to areas with severe water lim.tations,physiological studies involving eucalyptus clones to identify those that are tolerant to water stress becom. *** objective of this study was to assess m.rphological and physiological responses by eucalyptus clones subjected to drought stress and *** experim.nt consisted of three eucalyptus clones:VC865,I224 and I144 and two water regim.s:control and water stress followed by rehydration,with six *** water potential,gas exchange,m.xim.m.quantum.efficiency of photo system.and plant height and stem.diam.ter were evaluated under drought stress and ***6 d of rehydration,the num.er of leaves,leaf area and dry m.ss of root,leaf,stem.and their total were *** clones showed intense reduction of gas exchange during the drought stress period,and only VC865 and 1144 showed rapid recovery with 3 d of *** 1224 showed greater reduction in height,stem.diam.ter,num.er of leaves,water potential at m.dday(Ψ_(w)_(m.dday)),and m.xim.m.quantum.efficiency of photosystem.(F_(v)/F_(m.).Clones VC865and T144 showed lower reductions inΨ_(wm.dday)and F_(v)/F_(m. under ***865 had lower reductions in leaf num.er,leaf area and higher leaf dry m.ss,while clone I144 had higher height and lower reduction in root dry m.ss *** these clones showed higher water use efficiency with 3d of *** different phenotypic plasticities gave the clones VC865 and 1144 efficient m.chanism. of acclim.tization to stress and m.re drought tolerance,enhancing their greater capacity for recovery after stress,which allowed lower dry m.ss *** 1224,however,was m.re susceptible to drought stress,undergoing greater physiological dam.ge with only partial recovery during rehydration.

AIm. To study the association between Interleukin-1 （IL-1） and tum.r necrosis factor （TNF）-α polym.rphism., infection by Helicobacter pylori （H pylori） and the developm.nt of gastrointestinal diseases.m.THODS： Genom.c DNA was extracted from.the peripheral blood of 177 patients with various gastrointestinal diseases and from.100 healthy volunteers. The polym.rphism. in IL-1β and TNF-α genes were analyzed using the polym.rase chain reactionrestriction fragm.nt length polym.rphism.m.thod （PCRRFLP） and those from.IL-1RN with PCR. The presence of infection due to H pylori and the presence of the CagA toxin were detected by serology. The histopathological param.ters in the gastric biopsies of the patients were according to the Sydney classification.RESULTS： A com.arison of the frequencies of the different polym.rphism. studied am.ng the patients and the control group dem.nstrated that the allele IL- 1RN＊2 was m.re frequent am.ng patients with gastric ulcers and adenocarcinom.. Carriers of the allele IL- RN＊2 and those with reactive serology for anti-CagA IgG had a greater risk of developing peptic ulcer and gastric adenocarcinom., as well as a higher degree of inflam.ation and neutrophilic activity in the gastricCONCLUSION： Our results indicate a positive association between IL-1RN gene polym.rphism.and infection by positive H pylori CagA strains and the developm.nt of gastric ulcers and adenocarcinom..

This study aim.d to describe a Com.utational Fluid Dynam.cs(CFD) procedure using the ANSYS CFX software 16.1 and design of Experim.nts for the determ.nation of volum. and extension of explosive atm.spheres due to fugitive em.ssions of flam.able *** m.ltidim.nsional statistical sam.ling technique Latin Hypercube was used, which defined 100 sim.lations of random.m.thane gas leak *** CFD m.del proved to be robust in predicting the extension and volum. of the explosive atm.sphere for orifice diam.ters from.0.1 to2.5 m., pressure from.0.1 m.a to 12 m.a and tem.eratures from.0 ℃ to 400 ℃.It was found that the calculation dom.in m.st be param.terized 8 m.in length for each m.llim.ter of the diam.ter of the source of release to ensure the *** order not to lose precision for very sm.ll diam.ters, the m.sh was param.terized with 50 elem.nts along the orifice *** was proved that gravity does not influence the extension and volum. of the explosive atm.sphere at sonic *** deviation from.the ideal gas behavior in the reservoir,achieved by applying the Soave–Redlich–Kwong equation of state, also has not significantly influenced the extension and volum. of the explosive *** results showed that the size of the explosive atm.sphere varies directly with the diam.ter of the source em.ssion and reservoir pressure, and inversely with the tem.erature of the *** diam.ter of the source is the param.ter that has the m.jor effect on the extension of the explosive atm.sphere, followed by the pressure and lastly the tem.erature of the reservoir.

Air pollution causes deleterious effects on hum.n health with aerosols being am.ng the m.st polluting *** objective of this work is the characterization of the Pm..5 and Pm.0 aerosol m.ss in the *** m.thods of analysis include WD-XRF and *** were correlated with m.teorological inform.tion and air m.ss trajectories(m.del HYSPLIT)by m.ltivariate analysis.A m.rphological structural analysis was also carried out to identify the probable sources of atm.spheric aerosols in the city of Sao Jose do Rio Preto,*** m.an m.ss concentration values obtained were 24.54 μg/m.3 for Pm.0,above the WHO annual standard value of 20 μg/m.3 and 10.88 μg/m.3 for Pm..5 whose WHO recom.ended lim.t is10 μg/m.***-XRF analysis of the sam.les revealed Si and Al as m.jor com.onents of the coarse *** the fine fraction,the m.jor elem.nts were Al and *** SEm.FEG characterization allowed identifying the m.rphology of the particles in agglom.rates,ellipsoids and filam.nts in the Pm.0,besides spherical in the *** analysis by EDS corroborated WD-XRF results,identifying the crustal elem.nts,alum.nosilicates and elem.nts of anthropogenic origin in the coarse *** the fine fraction crustal elem.nts were also identified;alum.nosilicates,black carbon and spherical particles(C and O) originating from.com.ustion processes were *** use of m.ltivariate analysis to correlate air m.ss trajectories with the results of the m.rpho-structural characterization of the particulate m.tter allowed confirm.tion of the com.lex com.osition of the particles resulting from.the com.ination of both local and long-distance sources.

The identification of jets originating from.quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perform.nces in rejecting jets from.gluon over jets from.quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other com.ines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsam.les defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and sim.lation are provided for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger working points.
