The effects of soil physica. properties on yield components, gra.e qua.ity a.d gra.evine yield cv. Ca.ernet Sa.vignon in Ultic Pa.exera.f soils loca.ed in Centra. Southern Chile were a.sessed. The experimenta. design wa. completely ra.domized with three trea.ments of soil texture: cla.ey, sa.dy cla. a.d cla.ey loa.. The higher yield wa. obta.ned in the sa.dy cla. a.d cla.ey loa. soils. The increa.e of bulk density, penetra.ion resista.ce a.d cla. content decrea.ed the number of clusters per vine, number of berries per cluster a.d gra.evine yield. Soil texture ha. not effects on the yield of shoots, berry dia.eter a.d tota. a.idity. However, soluble solids were higher in the cla.ey soil. Shoot orienta.ion only ha. positive effects on the cluster weight, number of berries per cluster, a.d gra.evine yield, being higher in the upwa.d shoots. This resea.ch rema.ked the importa.ce of soil physica. properties on the selection of sites with viticultura. a.titude.
