This work shows that despite a lattice mismatch of almost 20%, CdMnTe/CdTe/CdMnTe heterostructures grown directly on Si(111) have surprisingly good optical emission properties. The investigated structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy, macro-and micro-photoluminescence. Low temperature macro-photoluminescence experiments indicate three emission bands which depend on the CdTe layer thickness and have different confinement characteristics. Temperature measurements reveal that the lower energy emission band (at 1.48 eV)is associated to defects and bound exciton states, while the main emission at 1.61 eV has a weak 2D character and the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-defined (zero-dimensional, 0D) 0D nature. Micro-photoluminescence measurements show the existence of sharp and strongly circularly polarized (up to 40%) emission lines which can be related to the presence of Mn in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of producing photon sources with the typical spin control of the diluted magnetic semiconductors using the low-cost silicon technology.

This cross-sectional study examined the lower limb balance,ankle dorsiflexion,orofacial tissue pressure,and occlusal strength of rugby ***-six participants were divided into groups:rugby players(n=13)and healthy sedentary adults(n=13).Participants underwent an analysis of lower limb balance using a composite score(Y-Balance Test).Ankle dorsiflexion was measured using the Lunge *** Iowa Oral Performance Instrument was employed to measure orofacial tissue *** force was measured with a dynamometer,and T-Scan assessed occlusal contact *** were analyzed using the t-test(p<0.05)and ANCOVA with age and weight as covariates,where it is possible to verify that these factors did not influence the results *** differences were observed in the balance of the right(p=0.07)and left(p=0.02)lower limbs,where rugby players had lower composite *** were significant differences in the right(p=0.005)and left(p=0.004)lunges,with rugby players showing lower values,as well as lower tongue pressure(p=0.01)and higher lip pressure(p=0.03),with significant differences to sedentary *** was no significant difference in molar bite force and distribution occlusal contacts between *** seems to reduce lower limb displacement,cause ankle hypomobility,lead to changes in orofacial tissues,particularly the tongue and *** study is significant for identifying significant differences between rugby players and sedentary individuals,providing new insights into the impact of rugby on health and performance,which can benefit sports training and injury prevention.

双关作为一种常见修辞格,被广泛应用于广告宣传。本文将双关广告语划分为语义双关广告语与谐音双关广告语,选取精致和真挚两个重要品牌个性,讨论二者间匹配关系及效应,并通过6个实验(4个实验室实验和2个田野实验)检验了此匹配效应。本文发现,一方面,语义双关比谐音双关的理解难度更大,对语义(vs.谐音)双关广告语的理解过程更复杂(vs.简单);另一方面,精致(vs.真挚)品牌会给人一种复杂(vs.简单)的感知。故语义双关与精致品牌更匹配,谐音双关与真挚品牌更匹配,两者的匹配关系可以提升消费者的购买意愿、产品态度和真实点击。本文结论可为品牌和广告商提供实践借鉴。

Objective: To study the problematic use of video games among secondary school students in the city of Parakou in 2023. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in the commune of Parakou from December 2022 to July 2023. The study population consisted of students regularly enrolled in public and private secondary schools in the city of Parakou for the 2022-2023 academic year. A two-stage non-proportional stratified sampling technique combined with simple random sampling was adopted. The Problem Video Game Playing (PVP) scale was used to assess problem gambling in the study population, while anxiety and depression were assessed using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Results: A total of 1030 students were included. The mean age of the pupils surveyed was 15.06 ± 2.68 years, with extremes of 10 and 28 years. The [13 - 18] age group was the most represented, with a proportion of 59.6% (614) in the general population. Females predominated, at 52.8% (544), with a sex ratio of 0.89. The prevalence of problematic video game use was 24.9%, measured using the Video Game Playing scale. Associated factors were male gender (p = 0.005), pocket money under 10,000 cfa (p = 0.001) and between 20,000 - 90,000 cfa (p = 0.030), addictive family behavior (p < 0.001), monogamous family (p = 0.023), good relationship with father (p = 0.020), organization of video game competitions (p = 0.001) and definite anxiety (p Conclusion: Substance-free addiction is struggling to attract the attention it deserves, as it did in its infancy everywhere else. This study complements existing data and serves as a reminder of the need to focus on this group of addictions, whose problematic use of video games remains the most frequent due to its accessibility and social tolerance. Preventive action combined with curative measures remains the most effective means of combating the problem at national level.

A new protocol that enables asymmetric hydroaminomethylation of styrenes to afford chiral amines has been developed. Catalysed by an Rh-phosphine species and a chiral phosphoric acid, styrenes are converted into β-chiral amines with good enantioselectivities under syngas in the presence of an amine and Hantzsch ester. The reaction involves two key steps, hydroformylation and reductive amination, with the former catalysed by the Rh species whilst the latter by the phosphoric acid.

New particle formation(NPF) in the tropical free troposphere(FT) is a globally important source of cloud condensation nuclei, affecting cloud properties and climate. Oxidized organic molecules(OOMs)produced from biogenic volatile organic compounds are believed to contribute to aerosol formation in the tropical FT, but without direct chemical observations. We performed in situ molecular-level OOMs measurements at the Bolivian station Chacaltaya at 5240 m above sea level, on the western edge of Amazonia. For the first time, we demonstrate the presence of OOMs, mainly with 4–5 carbon atoms, in both gas-phase and particle-phase(in terms of mass contribution) measurements in tropical FT air from Amazonia. These observations, combined with air mass history analyses, indicate that the observed OOMs are linked to isoprene emitted from the rainforests hundreds of kilometers away. Based on particle-phase measurements, we find that these compounds can contribute to NPF, at least the growth of newly formed nanoparticles, in the tropical FT on a continental scale. Thus, our study is a fundamental and significant step in understanding the aerosol formation process in the tropical FT.

Nine novel microsatellite markers are presented for Aphelinus mali, a parasitoid of the woolly apple aphid Eriosoma lanigerum. Loci were characterized for 28 individuals from a single orchard in central Chile. Seven loci were polymorphic within A. mali （3-6 alleles per locus; observed heterozygosity ranging from 0.04 to 0.57） and are therefore useful for population genetic studies within this species.

Imprinting in plants

Genomic imprinting leads to the differential expression of parental alleles after fertilization. Imprinting appears to have evolved independently in mammals and flowering plants to regulate the development of nutrient-transfer placental tissues. In addition, the regulation of imprinting in both mammals and flowering plants involves changes in DNA methylation and histone methylation, thus suggesting that the epigenetic signals that regulate imprinting have been co-opted in these distantly related species.

Hydrocyclones have versatile applications in various industrial *** functionn on the principle of centrifugal separation to remove a dispersed phase(particles or drops)from a continuous phase(fluid).In unconventional filtering hydrocyclones,the separation efficiency and energy costs have been improved by combining filtration with centrifugal *** work investigated experimentally the effect of incorporating a cylinder and a porous cone in a conventional *** also evaluated the effects of the main geometric dimensions of the separator on the hydrocyclone performance.A differential-evolution algorithm was applied to optimize the hydrocyclone performance,which was represented as the maximum total efficiency and minimum Euler *** experimental results validated the optimization results and showed that hydrocyclones with optimized geometries exhibited higher total efficiencies(89.59%)and lower Euler numbers(582)than hydrocyclones with other experimental configurations.

The intestinal microbiota has gained increased attention from researchers within the swine industry due to its role in promoting intestinal maturation,immune system modulation,and consequently the enhancement of the health and growth performance of the *** review aimed to provide updated scientific information on the interaction among intestinal microbiota,dietary components,and intestinal health of *** small intestine is a key site to evaluate the interaction of the microbiota,diet,and host because it is the main site for digestion and absorption of nutrients and plays an important role within the immune *** diet and its associated components such as feed additives are the main factors affecting the microbial composition and is central in stimulating a beneficial population of *** microbiotaehost interaction modulates the immune system,and,concurrently,the immune system helps to modulate the microbiota *** direct interaction between the microbiota and the host is an indication that the mucosa-associated microbiota can be more effective in evaluating its effect on health *** was demonstrated that the mucosa-associated microbiota should be evaluated when analyzing the interaction among diets,microbiota,and *** addition,supplementation of feed additives aimed to promote the intestinal health of pigs should consider their roles in the modulation of mucosa-associated microbiota as biomarkers to predict the response of growth performance to dietary interventions.
